They are both gone now, difficult to lose such remarkable talents. Nancy was such a beautiful person, through and through; she lived to age 81 and was one of my very favorite singers for as long as I can remember. The above honor to her was richly deserved, RIP, Nancy (12-13-18) we will never forget you.
Even her speaking voice has a mesmerizing diction~🎺🎷🖤
Nancy knew how to tell a story with the song she sang, she made you feel like you were right there in the song, feeling those emotions, sad or happy, raw or soothing, she could do it all. Tremendous talent and a very nice lady, we will NEVER forget her, she has been about my favorite female vocalist for a very long time. We're so grateful we have her recordings which will live in our hearts forever. RIP, Nancy, thank you for what you gave us for so many, many years -- rest well and sleep warm!
Such grace from Nancy & Whitney.
"Names like Ella, Sarah, Aretha and of course Nancy" well honey guess what you're in that league too beautiful soul. RIP legend 🥺💜💜
She had the chops to not only sing beautifully but to tell a story , to move you to the exact emotion she was feeling . A true class act and a true artist . No ego , just a good soul with god given talent that she shared with all of us ! Thank you Miss Nancy Wilson ! I have ever heard.
One of my favorites by her is a song titled "Streetrunner".
R.I.P Miss Nancy Wilson 🎙💙
Yall ever wonder why WH does not have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame? Given the fact that she was the most successful Black female artist in history. Broke all kinds of records and was very beautiful.
She didn’t want it
You have to pay for it, perhaps she didn’t care to have one
She didn't play their game, which is why they killed her voice, her body and, after death, her progeny and her reputation.
Great observation
She didn't want to pay them for it. I think it's so stupid that they offer you a star as an "honor" and then say "oh by the way, this honor costs money"...
Beautiful gown, Fancy Nancy!
Thats awesome, they have the same type of beauty to me. Just that classy beauty.
R.I.P great Nancy Wilson 😞❤
Now that's what i call a graceful lady indeed.
Nancy's Grace, Beauty, Gifting and enormous contribution to music is undeniable. She hails in he company of greats such as Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington. Thank You Nancy We love and will sorely Miss YOU!

I love Nancy Wilson.
RIP Nancy.. this hurts
A great great lady, a great voice and interpreter of a song. Simply unique! Privileged to have seen her in concert in London.
The speech Nancy gave said so much in so few words. A lesson to anyone accepting an award in whatever category.
simply the greatest
I also noticed something, Nancy and Phylicia Rashad both have the same mannerisms and the way they speak is so similar
Ms. Nancy Wilson was a beautiful and talented woman, and she had class.
I still miss her.
That musical montage! Beautiful!!😢
PRICELESS!
her generation...her era...that crop of legends that opened doors for Whitney, are but a handful now, if that. And the thing that makes me the saddest, is that their shoes cant be filled because they just dont make 'em like her or Sarah or Ella or Aretha..or a Nina Simone, anymore. Now, you just have a lot of decent singers. But the thing that set apart, those ladies that I mentioned, is how versatile they were. They could sing ANYTHING. So, they're gone..and you wont get better singers than those ladies, Whitney included. Its sad, man. Thank God, for TH-cam.
Okay loving the gown awesome
OMG...I soo remember watching this! awesome post!
whitney if she'd lived could easily have moved into this style
it's sad we'll never know
i love both of these ladies
Gone but NEVER Forgotten!❤ XOXO ❤
How fantastic! A great...introducing a great!
Nancy is one of my favorite singers. So is Chicago's very own, Joan Collaso.
Nancy was naturally STUNNING! She was elegant, very classy, and effortlessly sexy... May they both rest in peace...Nancy and Whitney, your talents are missed dearly.

CLASSY!!
RIP Queen
Looking fine!!!
Barely mentioned at time of her death. Shame on the news media
Wilsons influence on Houston is evident, its such a pity that Whitney was made a slave to peforming vocal acrobatics, instead of being allowed to take her maginificent voice to other (less profitable) genres that Wilson took her voice to. I have always preferred Whitneys lower register to the vocal gymnastics which became her signature; and I waited in vain for Whitney to sing The Blues, Jazz, & Gospel old skool.
She did live but never on recordings
Wow, I always thought that in her 40's Whitney should have done a standards album, the Beatles songbook, Gershwin songbook, a la Ella Fitzgerald style... to hear Whitney cover the classics. I know there was that Mad TV parody of "Whitney screws up the classics", but boy if Whitney was still with us.. She could have also comeback like Barbra Streisand with the a Broadway album. I hope Mariah Carey takes note. Life isn't forever and her Voice is an incredible Gift. She should do a standards and classic album too. Fortunately, Mariah Carey has covered a few other artist's songs ("I Want to Know What Love is", "Endless Love", "Against All Odds", "I'll be There", "I Still Believe", etc ) and has found success, but we need an entire album.
itgetseasierlessitry wilson was able to have a family and have balance from hollywood
itgetseasierlessitry I completely agree. Whitney had such a beautiful timbre and tone to her voice that sometimes got lost in her vocal 'gymnastics'. She did cover some American jazz and pop classics. She also performed some Broadway (which she reportedly loved) songs. But I always wished she had made one entire album devoted to each musical genre. I also wish she had taken better care of herself and her instrument.
Price of fame. She chose to live a wild life and not tame it to preserve God's gift like Aretha Franklin and Nancy Wilson
I LOVE U NANCY!!!!!SHE LOOKS LIKE MONICA FROM 2:40-2:45,NOWHERE DOES SHE FAVOR BEYONCE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Satin Doll
Did Whitney perform that night
She performed with bee bee and ceecee kid and play. It’s time to make a change

She looked beyonce in one of those pics!!!
