Classy, beautiful unique and exceptional song stylist Nancy Wilson will be remembered for her musical contribution which sits with the greats such as Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, Sarah Vaughan. Candidly,,, Nancy set in a category of her own but carried the torch and there was no other could give such Justice,,,, Song stylists don't come to us often and are few and far between. Nancy should be honored historically as Legendary and Master contributor Jazz song stylist, although she performed all genres of music! Nancy will be truly missed, My Sincerest Condolence to The Wilson Family, Your Mother, Aunt, Granny SIster was truly not only a gifted talent But a Loving human being,,,,, I Met her at age twelve and so impressed with her warmth, kindness and love which radiated from her soul, It was this part of Nancy which solidified my love for her and Jazz .. As a child My parents kept her on rotation in our household , My mother would send me to the record shop to get Aretha and Nancy's albums. Never in a million years that I would think that I would be fortunate enough to have a brief encounter with such an exceptional spirit .....Thank You Nancy Wilson, not only did you greatly influence my musical taste But influenced me in a positive manner from my view As a young Black girl Your Grace was undeniable ,,,,,,,, Thank You !!!!!!!!
NANCY WILSON ... The epitome of BEAUTIFUL BLACK CLASSY.. elegant Song Stylist ... I'm brokenhearted today over her passing ... SHE WAS ONE OF THE GREATS!!!! I'VE BEEN LISTENING TO "BLACK IS BEAUTFUL" ... makes me so proud to be a BLACK MAN in this racist HOMOPHOBIC world... The song is so haunting & BEAUTIFUL..
Stamped / What a beautiful,heartfelt, tribute......to a much deserving God- gifted,Legendary Jazz Artist!! God bless you, thank you,for sharing.Rest in Peace,Ms.Nancy Wilson.
I agree she shud hv been inducted as a living legend while she was alive!! I was 12 yrs when i heard her (Put on a Happy Face), and knew immediately she was legendary!!!! Very mean of the music industry!!
So sad to hear that Ms Nancy Wilson had past. We've lost another great Singer she did surpassed every era of music and did it with CLASS,GRACE and DIGNITY... Ms Wilson's music played in our household my mother listened to her songs as she did her house work or just relaxing and listening to your music. You will be missed but that sound you created will forever be around. So Miss Wilson How Glad I Am that my Mother listened to you and I got to hear your songs and fell in love with your sound and got to hear you throughout the years... REST IN PEACE you are no longer among us but your music is here forever... YOU WILL BE MISSED... THANKS FOR THE MUSIC...🎤🎼🎵🎶 GOOD BYE MISS NANCY WILSON...🙏🙏🙏
Karl Traylor...I can echo your words completely! Your experience with Nancy Wilson is exactly mine. During the mid-sixties as a five year old young'un I recall my mother playing Nancy Wilson albums like yours and I grew to love her musical style and voice...it (is) like 'Home' to me whenever I would hear or think of Ms. Wilson over the years...I developed a real crush on her as a kid while gazing at her album covers...I remember thinking; who is this beautiful woman coming over the stereo? My favorite collection of tracks from Nancy Wilson are from her 1985 release "Keep You Satisfied"...although this album was produced in Japan by Japanese musicians and producers, in my opinion, these songs really showcase Ms. Wilson at her best. If you haven't heard it, check out "Is it Too Late" from "Keep You Satisfied"... so soothing, so remarkable.
I loved me some Nancy Wilson ! R.I.P Nancy Wilson , CLASSY LADY - Classy Music !!! We Will Miss U! May YAH Bless N Keep N Protect your Soul Ms Ladybug!
Losing Aretha and Nancy in the same year....tough! Nancy will forever be the song stylist par excellence-hardly anyone will come close. RIP legendary lady.
You are so right. We lost another super sister who i fell in love with the first time i heard her. She had a very good show every sunday on PBS showcasing other jazz performers. I never missed a show. Her music will go on forever.
Well said. I haven't experienced a double blow such as this since the two year window of Miles & Dizzy. Their greatness is irreplaceable and perhaps unsustainable in today's culture. Simply pure excellence without a peer.
This is what you call a sophisticated lady. I meet Mrs Wilson back in the 1980's at the Blue Note in the village. I took my grandmother 5 years before she passed to see her favorite singer and introduced them backstage it was one of the best days of my life to see how happy she was. What a polished human being and wonder of talent she was!!!!!
The incomparable ,talented, legendary songbird Nancy Wilson, that has flown away along with the( Queen of Soul) Aretha Franklin , you both will truly be missed. Thanks Regina
GREAT moments in Harlem, WHEN QUEEN Nancy Wilson, appeared AT the Apollo theatre.....I was there for ALL HER performances.....AT the village vanguard, village Gate, Montreal JAZZ festival...etc....rip IN THE AFTERLIFE......
The very thought of you and I forget to do The ordinary things that everyone ought to do I'm living in a kind of daydream, I'm happy as a king Foolish though it may seem, to me that's everything The mere idea of you, the longing here for you You'll never know how slow the moments go till I'm near to you I see your face in every flower, your eyes in stars above It's just the thought of you, the very thought of you, my love
NO one, and I mean not anybody, can equal Nancy Wilson's kind of style and presentation of a song, she was just inimitable -- she knew how to tell a story in her songs! She could sing jazz, soul, and her ballads were exceptional; she could do it all; she will be a legend for a very long time. One of my very favorite female singers for many years, we will miss her immensely, but we have her wonderful recordings and live performances to enjoy forever! RIP, Nancy, and sleep warm. Regina sings "If I could" beautifully, bringing tears to Nancy's eyes. What a tribute to Nancy.
On a clear day Rise and look around you And you'll see who you are On a clear day How it will astound you That the glow of your being outshines every star You’ll feel part of every mountain Sea and shore You can hear from far and near A world you've never heard before And on a clear day On that clear day You can see forever And ever more
One of my regrets in life is not seeing Queen Nancy in person😢i pray she's well and has many more years with us. Thank you Regina and the poster of this wonderful video.
If I could I'd protect you From the sadness In your eyes Give you courage In a world Of compromise Yes, I would If I could I would teach you all the things I've never learned And I'd help you cross the bridges That I've burned Yes, I would If I could I would help you make it through The hungry years But I know that I can never Cry your tears, babe But I would if I could

Oh having singing and talking together just doesn't work..unlike a collage of photos, the sense of hearing is imo as they say, select, not sure if this is a scientific fact, I know I can only listen to one main voice/sound. Visuallay one can get over stimulated with colors and shapes though they don't take away from the whole piece. So, here we have a legend talking with Regina and you have music in the background. Kinda like being in a restaurant trying to have a conversation while the band is playing. Love both ladies.
@@louisgonzalez8846 you brought me back to a video I've forgotten about and it's a bit late or I"m 2 years older, it seems worse. Ms. Wilson was such a class act and one of the best to ever touch the 🎤... RIP Queen
Nancy Wilson and Joe Williams singing and dancing together!!!! I would have lost my mind sitting in that audience!!! 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎼🎼🎼🎶🎶

I am sure Nancy meant nothing by it. The trials of the road and performing can be grueling. Nancy appreciates and treasures all her fans.
I do not believe that.
That doesn't sound right.
