Overview
With the Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader, it’s easy to download photos and videos from your digital camera to your iPad or iPhone so you can view them on the gorgeous Retina display and share them with family and friends.
After you insert the SD card into the reader, your iPad or iPhone automatically opens the Photos app, which organizes your photos into Moments, Collections, and Years. And when you use iCloud Photo Library, all your full-resolution photos and videos are stored safely in iCloud and automatically added to the Photos app on all your devices. With iCloud Photo Sharing, you can share your photos and videos with just the people you choose.
The Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader supports standard photo formats, including JPEG and RAW, along with SD and HD video formats, including H.264 and MPEG-4. It supports data transfer at up to USB 3 speeds on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro (1st and 2nd generation) and 10.5-inch iPad Pro, and up to USB 2 speeds on the 9.7-inch iPad Pro and all other iPad and iPhone models.*

I did this with the iPhone 11 and it only took 59 seconds
I have the same cord. You don’t have to hit select all then deselect, if you only want one you just click on that one, then hit import the one selected

I’m glad I found this video , I recently got a dash cam that uses a sd card and I’m not able to view the videos from the sd card on the camera itself or my phone bc I have a iPhone so this should solve my problem so I’ll be able to view the pictures and videos when needed.

Thanx just to let you know with the iPhone 12 Pro Max it’s very fast. It downloaded all the drone videos even being in 5k in under 40 seconds.

I tried that and when I hit import it said there were no photos to import even though there videos, I don’t think it mattered I’m guessing, I’m trying to delete the SD card after I download the files to my iPhone 13, if you hv any info on how to do it that would be great. Thanks

It works on 6th gen, as far as cards, it works on the ones I use, Sandisk

I remember when you made the video for your old card reader, it served you well for years. But it's probably wise you got the Apple branded one this time. With IOS 14 coming out now, I'm sure a lot of third party devices will no longer work. I love how you run your channel from your phone.

Thankyou so much for this, you made it so obvious that I can't believe I didn't work it out myself! My problem is that my phone says "no media avaliable" as if the videos on my sony camera are just on the camera and not on the SD card? Is this possible?
What it don't tell you is that it does not work with all sd cards, you have no idea which ones until you put it in

no, but you can export them to a thumb drive
OK I love your video. I bought exactly what you have but when I bring mine up. It says no photos to import. I don’t know what’s wrong there are photos on the chip. Any suggestions?
I get this question all the time, this device just does not like some sd cards, i have no idea why, it will read my gopro sd cards but not my osmo sd cards, go figure
Thank you for responding so quickly. I’ve tried two different chips. Both SanDisk like the one in your video or at least it looks like it. Both say the same thing no videos to upload. So if you would give me a name brand of what does work or what style not that familiar with these things. I sure would appreciate it. Just a chip that works . I also have the SanDisk adapter like you have.
For anyone having problems. I’m using an IPhone XR btw, dk if it makes a difference. But my data showed up in files -> Browse -> then whatever the name of your sd card is. Hope this helped👍🏽

I’m planning to buy this lightning to sd card reader, will it import only JPEG files or both JPEG and RAW footage? Because you can only transfer RAW files when you plugged it in to computer. Thanks!
As far as i know it will import compatible files only not just any format, no avi video

I connect my adapter with the card and open the photo app and it doesn’t pop the transfer option? iPhone 11
