the lightning to sd card reader though remains the same in 2020 but ios 14 has taken file transfer to another level by giving you access to folders and sub folders, in this way now you can get access to many hidden folders directly to your iphone .

Thank you so much for making this video. 🙏🏻That’s why I found that I have to go to photos to import pics in my iPhone 12 pro x. It says in my iPhone 6 and take me to the camera to import but not in iPhone 12. 😊

Very useful thanks. I didn’t know about using Files app. Don’t forget folks that the vid file MUST be put inside a folder named DCIM on the sd card else it won’t work! Peter

Is there a way to have a time/date stamp on videos that are viewed from card reader. I’m using a trail cam that has a time stamp but it does not show up when viewing videos. Thanks!

Can u delete the pictures from the sd card like you used to be able to? Idk why they would change this. It doesn’t even give me the import option in photos anymore. I can only import my sd photos through the files app

What sd card would you recommend for a Sony cam corder ccd trv 65 from 1997 it used cassetes but I transferred it to an sd card but it won’t work when it comes to the sd reader

Do you mean the blue and white files app that’s already on my phone? I can’t tell what files app you’re using. And I don’t see any of that in my files app.

This does not work. Nothing happens. There is no import button in photos, nothing in files, nothing. I know my adapter works becuase it worked on older iOS versions. iOS 14 however it does not. What’s up with that?
It seems a new update has affected this. If you're desperate, I had sole momentary luck by resetting my network settings. Don't know why. But after about a day it stopped recognizing the Micro sd again...

you can but also might get lot of corrupted files, it is prioritized for reading your sd

if your card is not reformatted before use in camera the card will not be readable by the files app
