I am an American from CA. I listen to at least one of Matt's songs every day. From the Darwyn albums to Seven Summers, all of his live pub performances, X Factor, his 5 tours, festivals, live TV and radio performances, Letters and The Fire, Matt has amassed a huge body of work in just a few years, but Just For A Day from the Seven Summers album is still my favorite song of all time.
I just discovered this song and I love it. His voice hypnotizes and I do not usually listen a song over and over again, but with him it's not the case.
I love the fact that Matt is so versatile. Whether it's haunting ballads, catchy pop or gritty rock, Matt can do it all. The whole of his recent unplugged concert is available on you tube, thanks to the brilliant editing of a fan. If you haven't already, check it out. It's not quite the same as being there but it's the next best thing.
Matt, you deserve so much more recognition than you receive. When you won the XFactor in 2010 I was overjoyed because you were the only person that I had actually stuck with through to the end of XFactor. Your voice opened my soul and I love hearing it almost every morning. Your voice is true and I love you for it! I bought your first album and saw you in March this year at the O2 Academy in Glasgow. Both were amazing! I can't wait for the 2nd album! You have so many fans who love you!!! Xx
absolutely love this song.. I saw Matt about 10 times in this year and i must say he is one of the best performers I've ever seen live.just wow!
This is by far my favourite track on the album, I want him to have a massive comeback with this album to get back at the X Factor for dropping him!
Success is completely relative. Matt is making the music he wants to make and his fans are loving it. He likes the 1D boys, but does not envy them. He has total creative control and they have none. So don't be sad, Matt certainly is not.

Yes, I agree with some of the previous comments. Matt is one of the best singers Ive ever known for years. His vocal prowess is uniquely his alone, like a few other artists in his time and before him. He's also the only XF winner that has the most authentic talent for music. Others can sing, yes, but Matt is an artist. That's the real difference between Matt and others. I have a huge respect for Matt for his being a real artist. Go Matt! Keep doing your kind of music!

Matt is the best ever winner XF show, because he is simply the best! Doesn't matter, if he has been at XF or not, he is a great artist, gorgeous musician, singer, songwriter and what is very important,he is man with a beautiful personality.
Love this song and the video is such fun but nothing can be better than hearing Matt sing this live with his band. That's when he really shows what an incredible performer he is. Matt's fan base is growing steadily and will continue to do so., lets see who's still making top ten albums in 15 years time. Longevity is what's important not quick fixes

What's not to love about this guy, great voice, well grounded, gorgeous...I'm addicted since the x-factor show...been listening to his songs everyday for 2 years...his songs wakes me up and puts me to bed...(hubby gave up..LOL!)
I've bought the album Fire and Fire Tour tickets 2013. I will fly thousands miles to meet him nex year. I can't wait to see him at Union Chapel . He is a talented musician with a beautiful personality. Amazing man ...amazing voice...amazing songs...i love you soooooomuch. bless you Matt
This is such a great song, perfect for a second single. Sales of The Fire are continuing to rise steadily, maybe not rocketing but it's still selling. Considering Matt has had no airplay on major stations and a lot of shops don't even have The Fiire on show, Matt is doing really well.
guys I have to say it, its going to sound like a x factor judge but oh well. I have watched matt Cardle since then like most of you, I am telling the utter truth I liked him since then and he got better and better as the weeks went on. Was over the moon when he won sang amazing and most of these songs make a off but Matt has gone from strength to strength and this his new song is amazing and amazing on vocals truly stunning, he is going to hit it BIG! fingers crossed love you matt :)
I am nothing compared the dedicated members of the Matt Cardle Appreciation group on FaceBook, they do amazing things to support Matt. I just do what I can here on YT.

While he has many younger fans, most of his core fans are adults in their 20s or older. We don't have time to watch videos over and over and we don't buy a lot of records because we have families to feed, but enough of us will take time and pay the price to go see him live, because that is very special. So he has no problem selling out his concerts. And that is how a working musician like Matt earns his income, performing live. It is also what he loves doing the most.
On the other hand Matt is wonderful, humble, funny, kind, sweet, handsome, talented and a brilliant vocalist and song writer. He is lovely, generous to his fans, plays guitar, drums and piano. He is slim, handsome, a genius musician and superb live. He is just amazing and I adore him. I will always be a fan and have seen him live loads of times and he never lets me down live. His music brings great joy to my life. Just saying.
only Matt has the power to get you connected in his lyrics and melody, some says closing eyes while singing is odd, but it works on him, and on us, he sends you some place where his thoughts and feelings in his lyrics were honest and true....
I can't wait til he comes back to America for a tour!!! I wanted to go to his show in L.A. when he was here last year, but didn't have enough notice to save money to fly to L.A. He is so talented!!!

Matt's musc has not been released outside of the UK yet, but because of TH-cam, he has fans all over the world; Malaysia, Singapore, Phillipines, India, the Middle East, Latin America. After the New Year, Matt's album The Fire is going to be released world wide.
Love this song and a great fun video. The thing with Matt is when you see him live he sounds the same or even better than on the recording. Matt will still be writing his music and wowing audiences long after a lot of others have been forgotten.

Great song, so funky. Fun video too, I really like it. I have seen him do this song live at Scala and it was great. He is always amazing live. I am hoping to see him at Royal Albert Hall this Wednesday. Love The Fire album, go buy it, you won't be disappointed. By the way, The Fire is holding steady in top ten of indie albums. He has total creative control of his own career, which is what he wanted. At nearly 30 he always knew that he would not be the poster boy of the 6-17 years old market.

I've watched a lot of Matt's live performances that uploaded by fans, I love them all especially the Letter Tour and Koko gig, I can't wait him to come over my country (Hong Kong ) ,so one of my wishes of 2013 is to meet him at his gig in London...hahahaha... It is worthy. So we'll meet at the Union Chapel.

I agree, I've been taking notes of Matt's old YT Vids views for the last 5 months (little things I can do for my idol) and it's soaring since his Album release where a few can hear his songs played on air...how much more if big radio stations would play them? His famous x-factor rendition of The first time ever.... doubled its views for the last 2 months...and counting...way to go Matt..by the way YOU ROCK SCALA!!!!

God, I totally love Just for a Day too, it is awesome. I feel Lately has a similar vibe and I love that track. I regularly go back to Just for a Day to perk me up and have it on full volume in the car for a great sing along.

Matt will be be performing at the South By Southwest festival in Austin Texas in March. The festival runs for 10 days, wth the music acts performing from Thurs, through Sun. 3.17.13. Most of the acts are American and Canadian, but other UK acts include Jake Bugg and Charlotte Church. This is all part of Matt and Will's strategy to break America. If you live in the Austin TX area, go see Matt, he is fantastic live.
