What Charlie forgot is that people who extort money usually threaten to harm someone you love, not someone you hate. They would have threatened to harm him, his sister, or his parents. They wouldn't have driven to Tallahassee (7 hours away) to kill someone the family hated.

He doesn’t present as a professional, middle-aged dentist; a fact to which he’s oblivious. Arrested development at perhaps high school, maybe junior high. The way he characterizes his mother when asked if she gets worked up, he responds, “she’s a concerned mom.” That just sounds to me like something a much younger person would say. The Adelsons are the very definition of enmeshed. And that’s one of the kindest things that can be said about them.

What a terrible defense… double extortion on a payment plan. Charlie’s best hope would have been to say that he did send Sigfreudo after Dan but that he only wanted him to “rough him up” might not have been a first-degree murder conviction…

The true (and only) "mastermind" in this sordid tale is Wendi. She played her whole family, got exactly what she wanted, and is walking around free. The only thing she didn't factor in was Karma. She's going to be quite shocked.

If Donna is convicted, Wendi is more likely to be indicted. If Donna is not convicted, but she will be, then it would be more difficult to charge Wendi.

They should arrest her because they have a little evidence and even if she beat the charge she would be in jail for a year and ruin her social standing and any future jobs.
