@ it's my understanding that this is a WV thing, like a the penalty phase. It only applies in the case of conviction for 1st degree unaliving. It allows associates of the convicted to plead for her to be parole eligible after 15 years.

It is horrible to ask your children to testify in the mercy portion of a trial when you have killed their father. Testifying will remain with them forever. I would never let my children testify. But then, I would never kill my husband.

Even if she's granted mercy (hopefully not) she still needs to complete 100% of her federal sentence before starting her state sentence of at least 15yrs with unlikely chance of been granted parole 1st attempt. Personally think the judge should decide the "mercy trial" jury have completed there civic duty and done with the witch!

She was expecting a different verdict ' the fact that she got away with robbing people for years, planning and executing the murder gave her a sense of impunity. You could see her expression when her daughter testified about her father, her defense attorney interrogating her GP - there was a smirk and a sense of satisfaction on her face. Its shock more than anything which brought on the tears, she believed she was untouchable.

We lived from pay to pay while I had to quit a job I loved, working only 3 days a week tobe with my 3 yr. old son who was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome. Made good money as a legal assistant. We never lived beyond our means, had a mortgage, old cars, etc.
By the time my spouse retired, no mortgage, better cars,no debts. With time, we are lucky to have a very nice savings account. I would NEVER invest a penny with any company or individual.
I keep adding to our savings account, no more financial stress.

I agree to 🤷‍♀️. Not saying she didn’t do it, I just didn’t see enough evidence. Unfortunately I’ve seen our jury’s go towards guilty verdicts a lot more since social media, cameras in court rooms etc make these cases blow up.

I also noticed that her family was very withdrawn from each other. I suppose it might be a result of shock or they might have prepared themselves for a guilty verdict as well. They might also be acutely aware of the cameras on them. Nevertheless, I was confounded by the lack of emotion.
