      Yep this one explains best how to create effortless lag using weight transference. My biggest issue is keeping hands, wrists, arms and shoulders relaxed enough to let them freewheel through to a nice balanced finish. May way steel Jack Nicklaus waggle and swing trigger, he seems a decent player to model

    Fantastic demonstration of how the body moves naturally in a golf swing. No need to try to hit positions in the swing, it happens automatically when you let your body do want it is built to do. As always, love your teaching. You are the true guru of golf instruction. Other instructors should pay you to be taught this way of teaching golfers.

    I have subscribed to your videos..I am 72yrs young..8.5 index...you have given me a literal "fountain of youth" with this video...stopping the accelerating club and using the vertical power in my legs has rejuvenated my golf swing..I am a youtube junky..I have for years gone to the first tee armed with a myriad of videos that I practice in my garage..and so far they have all been Band-Aids. that work for a short time and then fall off..but you have given me the ah..ha...moment for my golf swing..I wish I could afford a lesson..but no matter..I have a net and mat plus a Garmin R10 monitor..and I love to practice...now I practice with a purpose..I can now delete all the other subscriptions I have...thanks so much, Jim

    I amazed how similar the examples of the " lack of power " swing without deceleration and the " pressure shifted " swing with deceleration look to the observer .......I am trying hard and have watched this video multiple times to grasp that " pressure shifted " deceleration feel, trying to add power and distance..... ( currently my best 7i carries an average of 120yards , with a club head speed only in the mid 70's ) .....I have been practicing indoors daily, trying to improve during the winter months by swinging a short club and feeling that pressure shift ......thanks much Marcus .......

    Wow. You got me out of a rut. Love the primitive nature of applying pressure . I’m a 53 year fit ish tennis coach. Got my 7 to carry 165 wind not helping. But love the fluidity. Although my dad indicated I was getting all this power with half a swing so not sure how I should try and increase length of backswing. But this is a really good lesson. Thankyou

    • @GRFGolf
      @GRFGolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can try and lengthen the time it takes to shift pressure to influence swing length but to be honest if you swing it short, you swing it short! Always good to play around with things and experiment but that may be your natural action

    Excellent video Marcus. I notice that Dr Kwon teachings seem to be very well aligned to yours and often on his videos people mention you and Zen in the comments. Do you know of his work? If so, do you find your philosophies to be similar. Both seem to be excellent ways to learn free flowing rhythmical motions. Very impressive

  • @Robert-ts2ef
    @Robert-ts2ef ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video but you need to explain how the arms work in the downswing, do they stay with the body with a bit of side bend or do you mentally drop them first so as not to have an out to in swing?

  • @grahamjones7371
    @grahamjones7371 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video as usual,right arm only swings helped me get down to 3 hcp,but not quite in the way you describe.Whilst feeling the wrists and clubhead release is a valuable skill to learn, but in IMHO its not what the great ball strikers do, well at least not since the invention of steel shafts! As Hogan said in his book,if you hear someone talking about wrist action you know they're amateurs.Great ball strikers use all the great techniques and drills you describe in your great videos to load,maintain,substain and release the shaft through the ball giving great speed and stability at impact.

    I was surprised to see how early pros begin to shift their pressure back towards target in the swing, with some doing so when the club is barely past parallel on the backswing. I think for most amateur golfers it so counter intuitive especially as the club hasn't reached the top of the swing, but as demonstrated here it's an important reason why pros hit the ball as far as they do.
    Also as also you point out, that shift in pressure buys you time at the top of the swing. It's a lovely feeling 👌

    • @GRFGolf
      @GRFGolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You got it, the concept of a "backswing" and "downswing" sometimes doesn't help as it can reduce it to parts when it's a whole, fluid motion

Doesn't stepping to each side move mass rather than pressure? I struggle with swaying because i don't understand the forward and backwards movements with the feet.
