I like them equally.
Airplane, but the Naked Gun sequels are worth watching as opposed to Airplane.

It's worth noting that this trilogy of films started off as a TV series called "Police Squad", hence the full title of "The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad". The TV series, despite now being a stroke of comedy genius was sadly cancelled after a mere six episodes because ABC who broadcast shows live at the time thought it was a humour that required either extreme detail attention or multiple showings so that audiences could get the jokes. Thankfully, Jim Abrahams, David and Jerry Zucker and Leslie Nielsen didn't give up and instead made a trilogy of films.
Thankfully is right!
Leslie Nielsen never fails to make us laugh.🤣

The reason why he could keep a straight face is because before “Airplane!”, he was a serious dramatic actor.

Fun Fact: This movie is a big-screen continuation of the cult cop spoof series Police Squad! (1982). The title was changed to avoid confusion with the Police Academy film franchise, which were also co-created by Pat Proft. David Zucker remembers that they were given a list of about twenty potential titles, and they chose "The Naked Gun" because it "promised so much more than it could possibly deliver" of name.
Bonus Fact: While Frank is impersonating an umpire, the batter swings back and hits Frank in the face. This joke was suggested by Mel Brooks.
Bonus Fact: The "breasts" that remind Frank of his ex-wife are concrete reactor containment domes at San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, California.

Also, the running joke in the Police Squad opening credits was that they all had corny 60’s-70’s police-show episode titles, with the announcer reading them Quinn Martin style-After the credits, we’d see the caption “Tonight’s episode: The Naked Gun”, and hear the announcer’s “Tonight’s episode: Strikeout to Murder”. 😂
(And yes, the original Police Academy needs a reaction, but, er…don’t bother with the others.)

Should I watch the whole trilogy?
Nnnot really. The second movie recycles half its jokes from the funny earlier “Police Squad” TV series the movie was spun off from (which is closer to the original Airplane old-genre and deadpan-joke vibe), and the third is a traditional last-cheap triquel where the cast wants to wrap things up. You’re better either looking up the short six-episode series, or the Zuckers’ earlier “Kentucky Fried Movie”.
The second one is more dated with the politics of the time. Kentucky Fried Movie is an experience, though.

There's no Extra Crispy in it.
23:32 - Back then a lot of American Baseball players used chewing tobacco and would spit out the juice.
So the movie just played on a stereotype. I know it sounds disgusting, and they don't do it anymore, because we now know it can cause cancer. In fact google Tony Gwynn when you have time. He was an incredible player(in Baseball's Hall of Fame), but unfortunately passed away a few years ago, due to cancer caused by Chewing Tobacco

Hi Jess ! Now that was grest to watch... the highlights for me weren't the film excerpts, but your reaction to and your laughs at it. It's so enjoyable to see you smiling, laughing and enjoying this brilliant comedy movie. May I ask you to do more music reactions, please ? I would love to see you react to Aurora, singing "Lucky" Live at Nidarosdomen, a song that she wrote at the age of 9 years, with very deep and meaningful lyrics... it's considered her anti-suicide song. I swear you, you'll be mesmerized.

@@inbedwithmovies3228 It’s a big known actor’s first movie lead role. Not a big spoiler. You could look it up yourself or just save it for when you get to the movie. It’s the same ppl behind the camera so it’s the same crazy as Airplane, Naked Gun etc.
Just in laugh , laughter is the best medicine . not to think everyday seriously problem. Life is very short in this world .

The Naked Gun movies are highly rewatchable for me. Even though I've seen them dozens of times, I still get a chuckle out of lines like "It's Enrico Pallazzo!" or watching OJ get abused.
For a couple of oddball comedies with a young John Cusack - Better Off Dead and One Crazy Summer.
I love her laugh, too...and everything else as well. Jess is beyond beautiful!

@@inbedwithmovies3228 Firefly is a good series. I became acquainted with it in Afghanistan. When the DVDs came out the Fan Base bought up all they could find and sent them to the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. This created a whole new fan base. I did my part by leaving my copies of the Sharpe's Rifles and Hornblower Series over there.
A short youtube video but a poignant one is "The First Medal of Honor ever Recorded". This should be mandatory to watch in every High School and College so people realize who the real superheroes are. Ashes in the Snow should be mandatory also. It shows what Communism is really about.
