The bone conduction headphones may not sound the best, but for people with hearing problems they are awesome. My mom lost her hearing in her left ear, but with the bone conduction headphones (better ones then those haha) the sound can bypass her outer ear (damaged section of her ear) to her inner ear helping her hear the music or videos in her left ear. It’s actually really cool how they work.
Fun fact: bone conduction is how Beethoven was able to write music. He attached a metal rod to his piano and would hold it with his teeth so he was able to hear the music.
I don't know which brand/model your mother have but the Shokz Openrun are awesome. My daughter was born with hearingloss and has to use a Baha hearing-said, so I wanted to test the technology and man, I'm impressed!
For the 'Power Conditioner' scam thing, you can find a lot of teardowns & explanations on Big Clive's TH-cam channel. Basically it uses a voltage dropper (red capacitor & resistor on the PCB) to lower the voltage to light up the LED, while the big black module is a larger capacitor that... doesn't do a whole lot. If you were running a big factory it could have some uses, but you'd also need much larger capacitor banks for that. So yes, it's in fact a total scam that just wastes a few Watts of power and takes up an outlet.
If you have a ceiling fan it will have that same capacitor in it. Its used so the lights don't dim when the fan starts. If you were charged for power factor in a home (which you arent) this would save a few cents a month. In factories it is an issue but all the equipment will have power factor correction build into them. Also +1 to big clive and Krazy Ken. They are both a fun watch.
Also, the box screams SCAM due to how it looks, bright colors: check and overuse of exclamation points: check, oh and before I forget box design (print) is super basic, like it was just slapped together in MS Paint.
@@bobothn Yeah, if you have lots of inductive loads around and your energy provider cares about this it can make some sense. In this particular case it's a great way to recycle an enclosure for what appears to be one of those ozone generating devices with a cheap PCB and some low-grade parts, while selling it for like $30 or more. It's basically like those 'car tuning' devices that go into the OBD port, but only use the 12 V rail to blink some LEDs. Good way to scam gullible fools out of their cash.
Okay. So Austin. The content is good enough to make me watch your channel regularly. But your editors are some next level dudes. I mean special hats off to those guys. Really make every video pop. Amazing content throughout!
Those look like air conduction headphones not bone conduction. AKA, there is just a speaker pointing at you ear canal. Bone conduction has to touch bone. Also if someone cuts you off, they won't see your back glass, so it is pointless unless you are the one cutting people off.
That last one might actually be somewhat useless in older cars. Yes, it sounds useful, BUT there are equipments that are cheaper and uses your existing radio and sound system. I had it in my old corolla, and it's useful. The rest of the items are a gimmick, I see the band possibly replacing business cards though.
I wear Aftershock bone conduction headphones for a minimum of 8 hrs but often up to 12-14 hrs a day. These are extremely comfortable so much so that I have actually fallen asleep with them on. Like many of the people here I have hearing issues in one ear and this makes it so I can actually hear in that ear. They are also great for those of us that work in a manufacturing environment that are required to wear safety plugs since you can still wear those with these on.
I've heard of bone conductive earphones being used by teams overseas because they are supposedly quieter than the IEMs and are great at translating voice.
At first i didnt understand the "appeal" of bone conduction earphone. But after a friend of my explain it that it super useful for people having ear problem like him where he literally cant stand normal earphone/iem/earbud its really a lifesaver for him!
fun story. I actually used a similar product to the UGreen Bluetooth receiver to turn a pair of headphones with swappable 3.5mm jack into bluetooth headphones.
No cuz I was literally on TikTok earlier at work, thinking to myself “why hasn’t Austin done a TikTok mystery tech video yet?” And I come home from work, and here it is
To be fair on the watch your supposed to use monitor devices on your left arm/wrist and resting at same height as heart. It's probably still bottom tier even if the user knows how to use a monitor properly
(4:10) If your turn signal is broken you can signal your turn using your arm out the driver's side window. Also the 10 and 2 position is not a legal requirement its a suggestion for how to hold the wheel but given that its supposed to be the "best" position for controlling your vehicle and if its not used during your exam its considered a fail of "failure of skill" and not disobeying the law. Requiring 10 and 2 as the only legal position would be a violation of the "Persons with disabilities act".
When he said I can think of a lot of things I would like to hook up to a Bluetooth finger, was I the only one who immediately thought, "Your wife?" 😈 😂
I use the Bluetooth thing a lot. I go through headphones a lot. So rather than buying cheap earbuds, I get wired earphones that are a lot better than buds and use that as a Bluetooth receiver
I have the Apple Watch Series 1. A year and a half ago I was in the emergency at the hospital and they had me on a heart monitor. I compared my Apple watch to the very accurate, medical science machine and. . . it was an exact match. Apple watch heart monitor is accurate, once it takes that moment to start reading.
Not a buck converter, its a transformer that takes 120 volt ac and converts it to 12 volt dc. The only thing that thing does beside taking up a power outlet is light up some leds in it.
Regarding the ugreen Bluetooth quality, is it possible the quality on the other end wasn't that good just because of where the device was? If you could use a 3.5mm extension to move it somewhere else, would it sound better?
Can confirm. I have the same type of device from Menards for like third of the price, if you use a short aux cord and draip the mic anywhere closer to your face it works fine. I wouldn't record a label on it but it's perfectly fine for phone calls.
I was further investigating about the Linq bracelet and I think it's a clever replacement for business cards or the picture I have of my iPad that has a QR code to my Carrd site when I go to conventions.
I don't know if this is the place to ask, but with the earphone watch thing, would you ever recommend an actual brand of them? I've been looking for a new watch and I wouldn't mind a new pair of earphones to boot
The Ugreen Bluetooth thing is good I'd you have normal wired headphones that you want to add Bluetooth for. I have that exact one and use it for my various headphones and earphones. It sounds good enough, but I don't think I've ever used the microphone. The output varies from om device to device though.
Did Austin really call “I love you” in sign language “Hook ‘em horns”?! 😂 The instructions said the third one was to show love. Was it just to show love to UT fans?! 😂
With how well known the horns are as a gesture I don't think anyone that doesn't know sign language is gonna assume the "show your love" bit is anything more than a weird marketing and/or translation thing
Ya let me just buy a lock box that's intended to reduce phone time then continue to watch my phone and operate it fine just with an extra dumb case on my phone lol
Ca driving code does not say to keep your hands at 10 and 2, because it is literally impossible to keep your hands at 10 and 2 at all times AND shift. There is in fact no law in Ca about how you hold the steering wheel, but there was a comment from the CHP once about not keeping your hands at 12, aka the top of the wheel, and that is because in case of airbag deployment it will drive your own arm through your face.
That button pushing cube looks like a knock-off/copy of the switch bot. If I wanted Smart cube that was designed to push a button I would get the switchbot because I trust them more.
those aren't real bone conduction earbuds if you pause the video at 3:25 you can see there is a tiny speaker in them. If you want real bone conduction i suggest shokz just get the sport ones
2:31 I have a pair like these, they are definitely not "bone conduction" it's just a speaker that clips around your ear... painfully. I compare them to my Sony Linkbuds as an open air type headphones. Plus everyone sitting anywhere near you can hear what you're listening to... Isn't the point of bone conduction so only you hear?
First of all, if you got an older car, you have a lighter and radio for CD/Cassetes and no audio jack... If you got an audio jack, you most likely have BT in the unit by default... And if you got nothing, you have to buy new unit anyways so its better to think ahead and get a unit for 90 bucks that has USB and BT already there so u can play songs from USB stick or via BT on ur phone...
I'm totally NOT surprised that the bone-conducting earbuds that clip on to only your ear don't work very well. Considering you don't have ANY BONE in those parts of your ears!! It's all cartilage which doesn't vibrate the same way or allow sound to travel through it the same way as actual bone does. That's why _actual_ bone-conduction equipment touches _behind_ your ears on your skull, or touches your jaw bone instead. To you know, actually use YOUR BONES.
When did they start using these microphones (I've only known some units to use the throat mics, but not bone conduction). We for sure did not use them in the SEP V2 while I was in 2013-2016, we just had a Bose noise canceling headset w/ mic put inside of a helmet. You can actually still communicate without the microphones, but its about the same as trying to talk to someone at a nightclub, a lot of yelling (in this case over a high pitch whine, and only when certain systems are active, otherwise you can just talk normal).

That car bluetooth gadget would be nice if the mic was better, sure, but even with a better mic would it be good enough to overcome road noise? The highways and byways are a lot noisier than sitting in a parking lot with the engine off. I do kinda like that "finger switch."
If the power factor device actually had an output outlet and improved your power factor (from 0.7 to 0.90+, for example), it wouldn't be a scam. Having a lower power factor makes you use more energy from the wall while having less useful power for the device. Power factor correction devices aren't scams if they're actually built to do the job and work correctly. Sadly, the one in this video seems like a scam

The fact that this video was edited in Capcut is just surprisingly amazing 😅
