That Switch thing is pretty great. Physical games are often much cheaper and can also be sold. I rarely play more than 4 games at once. Now i can have Mario Kart, Mario Party, Mario 3D World all in the Switch and still have a slot left for a game im playing.
Well that switch switcher is something I'd get. My dock is in a cramped place with the card slot in the back of the shelf along with the shell I have for it being tricky to get it opened as is. I'd buy a larger version or just a advance Dock that has that for practical use similar to emulators when dealing with a large library of games.
You'd still have to access the Switch to press the button to switch to another game. I'm also not sure what this'll do to the airflow of the Switch, so overheating might become an issue.
@@MyRegardsToTheDodo The one showed in the video is the basic version with another model having a button remote and a 8 game slot version currently unavailable. Meanwhile airflow shouldn't be an issue since the vents are on top of the Switch and not on the back where it clips onto. If your talking about it reading all 4 to 8 games then that shouldn't be a problem since one of the four/eight games are active at a time with power being shown to be taken from the dock instead of from the switch itself.
Love that for the switch switcher, you still have to get up and press the button You might as well switch the games manually at that point and save some money
The one thing about the Boox device I will say, is what it really excels at is note taking. It saved me on clinical rotations vs a normal tablet (I have a smaller version) mainly because it writes like paper and the battery life is extremely long. It's less meant to be an android tablet and more meant to be for taking notes and reading only. I agree it is expensive but in its market it really isn't that crazy vs its competition. I think the price comes down a lot to eink panels being really expensive. They have a lot of products that are less expensive that still run full android.
One of My fave things on this channel is Austin . Great personality with Kindness and charm. I bet He is a great Dad , I wish Mine was much more like Him and I admire that He is an Ally. ps. it was fun to see one of his friends pelt him with a device again. 🙂
I have the older Air eInk tablet. I chose it because it's an android device, and I could add different sources of books to it, like the Kindle app, or my own epub files, or the app that my city's public library uses for renting eBooks, and I can read them on a comfortable 10" screen, with good night/day adjusted backlinght. It was quite pricey, but if you're really into reading, and you don't want to be locked into one book vendor (Kind, Kobo, etc), it's pretty good. I've never used the pen though, but it works okay, better than 1st gen apple pencil 😅 on my old ipad.
Those types of E-ink tablets are for people that like to write and/or annotate books/documents. Similar devices (like the remarkable 2 are in the same price bracket more or less). I use it a lot for narrative design. The good ones all support hand-writing recognition and documents conversion. Its great to be able to write hand-written stuff on a paper like surface and then being able to transfer this into any word processor. Battery life is waaaay better than an Ipad and its a lot more comfortable on the eyes.
I have the Color Onyx Boox and I like it. It's not worth the price, but also, annoyingly is like the only "PREMIUM" e book reader with SD card expansion. Which means I can have my whole Humble Bundle library on the device. Where as a lot of the other ones cost the same price and tap out at like 128GB of internal storage with only USB C OTG expansion. As for why these are expensive... E-INK, they're literally the only game in town. Was kind of hyped when TCL talked about bringing back transflective displays which are LCD panels that need ambient light to be seen, but they had one product with that and then NEVER AGAIN. I don't know why. My favorite smart watch was Transflective, I think Garmin still uses that tech. Actually I know they do, since their $800 receiver for their tracking collars have it. The 300i.
I've used the between 3 anc's for about a month and there are a lot of QOL issues i have with it. when the case is dead, putting your earbuds in the case will not turn them off, if the case dies WHILE charging them, they'll turn on and connect while in the case. when they're turned on in the case, they make a horrific feedback loop noise as there's no "off" mode for the transparency/anc that's accessible from the touch controls, only in the app. they do have a great soundstage, and the tuning on the triple driver setup is very good, but it's let down by the fact they dont support aptx, aptx.HD, aptx Low Latency, aptx lossless or LDAC codecs, which at that price and the way hey are marketing them it definitely should support.
Austin just called the lightest book style foldable available in the USA and Canada, and weighs as much as the last year's pro max iPhone, a heavy phone!!!!!! Wow!!!!!!!!
The problem with the Switch Game Switcher is that you still need to stand up and walk over to your switch to press a button, if they had like a bluetooth button or something wireless
The switcher would be perfect for me. I have all my consoles and PC connected to my monitor. No getting up other than rolling my chair a few inches to press the button
That switch switch is amazing! I have a number of switch games physically (i buy catridges whenever i can). And a number of people ask me to play a number of different and i hate switching the things all the time. I might buy that thing for my switch, since its really handy
Important thing to note about the BOOX, it's a niche product hence why it's so expensive. It's basically a $300 Android tablet BUT they don't have the same economies of scale a Samsung, Apple, etc would have so they have to charge more to break even. Basically just like Steam Deck vs companies like Aya Neo, yeah it doesn't make sense to pay $1000 for essentially the same thing as a $300 device but they kinda have no choice because they just can't physically offer it that low if they don't want to go bankrupt eInk tablets are great cause while you might not really be able to watch videos or play games well, having an eReader that runs full Android means better, not dated web browser (unlike Kindle which can't load most websites) and the ability to use multiple stores in one place. Kindle locks you to Kindle, etc. Something like the Boox can use multiple stores like Kindle, Kobo, and Nook, local libraries via Libby, Pocket or Instapaper for read later lists, reading your email newsletters, Audiobooks and Music, etc.
I can attest for the switch game cartridge thing. It make not seem like it makes a huge difference but if you're like me and you have your switch in docked mode and don't switch the games out that much this does save you a lot of time.
Please help me settle this argument with my girlfriend: 😊Can you switch games from using the controller or do you have to get up and press that triangle button?
I own one of those game card switchers. It really doesn't like you putting your Switch to sleep, and forces it to wake back up. That's the only downside I've found
Can you plug a switch switcher into a switch switcher? Gotta find the limits of this tech.
What would that be called? A switch switcher switcher switch?
Switch switcher switcher switch switcher
can you plug a buttplug into a switch?
Say that out loud fast, five times
My immediate first thought as well, always plug a multiplexer into another multiplexer
Austin is the king of mystery "and sometimes mostly shitty" tech
sometimes???
hi austin 😏@@austinevans
Mostly
sometime &"mostly"@@austinevans
but not always
love it. no one makes tech as fun as you do, Austin.
keep it up my man!
Austin is the king of mystery tech
Yes
Yes
"Freedom units?!" New favorite thing to say now! Thanks, Austin Evans!!! XD
I would like to ask where to get wallpapers like the ones when they use the one plus
Does anyone know who drew the art at 5:48 and around 6:50? They are absolutely beautiful, and I'd love to find the artist!
The artist is known as Crisalys.
I like that Austin involves the guys a lot more on mystery tech than when it started all those years ago
Love the roboraptor icon for mystery tech.
It would be neat to see that Fero fluid sitting in the background shelves and reacting to the crew during videos.

the addition of consulting the peanut gallery bits much like the office does when a character makes a hot take is perfect during the intro 😂

Look up "with friends crisalys"

The silhouette of Roboraptor's head kinda had the original Alien movie vibes to it 😁

Never a dull moment with Mystery Tech 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Honestly i would pay to see ken singing anime stuff and the ferrofluid dancing to it
That T-Shirt over the e-ink display any day.
1:36 so it’s basically like the stupid plastic flowers form 1988 that used to dance when music was played close to it.

I Love Austin Evans Videos 💚🖤

The one plus open deserves so much better than this!
Give it a full review!
Including software
Sniffing those flowers was very clever censorship
That sniff had me rolling😂 (metaphorically)
Where does Ken get those phone wallpapers? They look cool

(Softly off screen) you already did that. 😂
5:48 the screen is broken already lol
That ferrofluid thingy, anyone with some wood skill and science knowledge, or do some easy research, can build one for less than $40.
Where can I get wallpapers like the ones on the one plus I loved it
Zero, Zilch, Nada 😂🎉 whoever wrote that segment into the script. I know you, I know you grew up in the early 2000s watching cable TV 😅

KING OF TECH
austin with the osrs song!!! YEah baby
There is a remote version of the switcher. I have it, thing feels of good quality and has worked flawlessly so far.
The music he played had me dying 🤣
"$500 is a LOT of money."
And $1,400 fucking ISN'T???
Should have bought multiple of the switch switcher to see if you could daisy chain them, and if so how many till it fails to work.
Austin saying "That thinness is legit" reminds me of the legitness kid.

Clearly Mystery Tech has been getting edited later and later lmao
Wow that reading tablet was actual ass on scrolling and refresh rate, it was so laggy! $500 for a piece of junk compared to a simple iPad is crazy.
Can you post what wallpapers you had on your OP Open
Iv never caught an upload this early! Fresh content 😌

you earned a like for sea shanty lol
Play Metal for the Ferrofluid, want to see how that looks ^^
what monitor is it at minute 10:25 for the switch?
Where can i buy the densha go train game (10:26)?
