Not disagreeing, but you do have to be very careful with Chinese knockoff SSDs (or even flash memory in general). It isn't uncommon for them to report a high capacity, and even let you load files onto it and do speed tests... but only up to a point, eventually the drive fills up and then things just get corrupted because the 2 TB drive you got really only had 256 GB.
That is a *common issue* with MacOS - It's not actually the little montior! I've had senior Apple engineers trying to sort it for a year with my USB C (mac compatiable) Samsung monitor...
That optimus figure is pretty impressive for 11 bucks. Most pieces out there cost dozens or hundreds of dollars, even non-official third parties and knock-offs.
@@MonarchXO16as a transformers toys fan, I have to agree with the original comment, these can go very expensive even the cheap plastic, 3-6 steps transformation ones. So the 11dlls for THAT one, was indeed, a great catch.
The GB Interceptor isn't really capturing video, it's actually dumping the ROM and is running it in an emulator that receives the exact same input as the real GB and sends that video feed to USB. It's a pretty cool concept, but at that point, it's not really doing anything more then the GB Operator or similar, while not being able to dump saves, play GBC / GBA games and isn't actually working with every games.
There is a video on youtube from the original creator of the device. It was originally meant as a DIY project. I wonder if he even knows that it is sold on ali express now. 50 is a nice margin for what boils down to ~25 material cost.
If that mini Apple Computer display was cheaper, it would be a cool little novelty to have on your desk to display stats and shit while gaming. Because I think it's cool cause I'm old like that 😂.
A “mechanical Alliance dark commander” is what my great grandma definitely would have bought me as a kid during my transformers phase. Would have paired nicely with my American Defenders(in my G.I. joe phase) and my mega bloks (in my Lego Phase). RIP gramma Myrtle, you were a real one and still had fun with all of it 💙
I had the same kind of grandma! It really taught me humility and to have an open mind. The first time I said something about knockoff she went upside my head and straightened me right out. Lol.
It looks like your portable PS2 ended up that huge cause they really waned to fit the large screen on it. Most I have seen use a screen about the size of the GC version you bought so you can actually hold it.
There's also the fact that it appears to use the actual motherboard from a PS2 Slim. Modified to remove the DVD Drive and hardware. The portable PS2 appears to be about the same size, or slightly smaller in surface area to a PS2 Slim. The larger monitor is probably just to take up the blank surface real-estate that would be caused by using a smaller one like what what was used in the GameCube. Using real hardware(the "hack" just allows the PS2 to run games without the DVD Drive, its still real hardware), you really aren't going to get much smaller than that. The only way to make it smaller would be to make it an emulator, like a handheld retro-pi. Fun fact: The software they opted to use for the "hack" is actually stored on the Memory Card. I use Free MCBoot on my PS2 to play homebrew PS2 games. Which means, the modified memory card that comes with this device can be plugged into any PS2 and it will run the same way. Also means that when that memory card is removed, the PS2 will revert to normal functionality. It uses a modified "system" save to trick the PS2 into skipping it's security anti-piracy checks intended to ensure that only legal legitimate games are played on the system. Forcing it to load a modified firmware that has been altered. It was a vulnerability in the PS2 because when it first starts up, it checks the memory card for the system file, and sets itself according to the information found there. Normally that file is written by the PS2 itself, so the PS2 just looks at it, goes "everything is good" and little to nothing happens. The people who made Free MCBoot found a way to inject their own system save onto a memory card. And because the PS2 doesn't question the legitimacy of the "system" save on a memory card, it just reads it and continues on as it was told to by the save.
You guys should do a video on Back Market I would really love to see if they can back up what they're putting down about their refurbishing quality and price
the portable ps2 is a neat idea but completly silly considering you can now emulate ps2 on phones now and the steamdeck makes for a way better portable ps2 device thats also capable of emulating just about everything.
2.5' SATA SSD's are super cheap now. You can get a Crucial, Silicon Power, or Team Group 256GB SSD for $20. Heck, 500GB Samsung 870 Evo's are only $50. Same with DDR4 Memory, 32GB of name brand RAM is like $60. Great time to upgrade if you have an older system!
Aliexpress is no longer what has been, a lot of scammers are active, you order what you get, what else and then you file a dispute, they say it has been delivered and you have lost your money, so I can't say anything good anymore.
15:44 that's actually a genius fun idea for a video. The internet was able to make Shaq Hold that Small Knife in that TikTok Video, Hypothetically, We or you should also be able to see how this ginormous handheld PS2 Would look like in Shaq's Hand.
That transformer took me back. I used to have a very similar one, except mine was made out of plastic. If you think it's hard to transform it as an adult, imagine trying to do it as a 4 or 5 year old with no directions.
the 11usd ssd is about normal price, in actual retailers here you can get 120gb ssds for about 11usd, sometimes less. I have a cheap PNY sitting in the laptop my mom uses, going strong for at least 3 years now.
Hey the N64 controller was one of the best ever ! I think even though at first it was weird it was really neat that you could easily switch between the dpad controlls and the joystick
As of when I’m watching this video, Microcenter’s store-brand SSDs in 128gb are $14, which isn’t actually much of a deal next to the 256gb for $19. So $11 isn’t particularly out of line.
Looks like that SSD doesn't have any DRAM cache, which would be why it's so cheap. Performance won't be great in general use, especially for random I/O.
The best way by far to lose calories is to swim in a cold pool, the cold makes your body have to generate more heat, and swimming is very energy intensive, so if you want to burn fat, don't use a freaking "microcurrent weight loss massager" because they don't work, just get out of your comfort zone for an hour or two.
There are a lot of knock-off Transformers are identical to the real ones except made with crappier plastic and lower quality-control. Like someone is stealing the molds out of the dumpster behind the Hasbro factory or something.
@@deakbuba92 Unfortunately, the word die-cast was used in the advertisement. This has been used to mean metal in many situations. However, I understand the difference between die-cast and die-cast metal. In this case it means die-cast plastic! That mini monitor absolutely strikes me as a use for excess or factory reject VR headset screens. That's a coincidentally specific size, resolution and refresh rate otherwise.
For how big that portable PS2 was, I expected it to have the disk drive.
same
11:57 to be fair, flash memory has hit absolute rock bottom prices, so you can find reputable ~120GB sata SSDs for $13-16 from reputable vendors
Amazon had a lexar ns100 128gb for 9.99 CAD
