Elvis always auditioned and picked his band, back-up singers and orchestra leaders. He had total control of the whole production of his performances. He was always in touch with everything going on. It was his stage and he conducted it brilliantly. He always produced his recordings, too and gave Sam Phillips and Sun Records credit for teaching him production. Elvis was a perfectionist about his music. Awesome man!!💖💖💖 Thanks for doing more Elvis. Never enough for his fans.🥰
Elvis always picked his own band and singers. He was even doing this when he first exploded at the age of 20 in 1955. And for the most part he did all of the arranging as well, and while he didn't write stuff, he was a brilliant brilliant arranger, which I don't think gets mentioned enough.
He performed once in Hawaii and raised money for the Pearl Harbor Memorial and he was one of the main contributors to the first fund raiser for the building of St. Jude’s Research Hospital for children with cancer. He wasn’t a perfect man but he had so much good in him.
Every masterful musician that you see on stage was picked by Elvis. Started with James Burton, onto Jerry Scheff, Ronnie Tutt, Glenn Hardin, John Wilkinson etc. The backup singers area whole other chapter. I'll tell you if you want. Thnx for a great reaction.
When Elvis did the '68 Special he worked with an orchestra for the first time. He loved the result so much he added one for his 70s shows along with a very tight rock band anchored by Rock n Roll Hall of Fame guitarist James Burton. Presley added a soul group, the Sweet Inspirations, to his male singers for a sound that was different from what he'd had ever before. The Colonel thought he was spending too much money on personnel but Elvis knew what type of sound he wanted to create.
Elvis chose his musicians and his backing singers himself and they stayed with him They always said they had to watch him like a hawk to react to his directions, he was known for ad libbing and being spontaneous without notice. He’d flex his hands and arms to conduct the music and always finish the songs with big flourishes. During his concerts he would introduce his band and singers and often have them play or sing solo whilst he just listened and watched in appreciation of their own skills. So glad to see Elvis still making people stop and stare. Thanks for bringing him back for the new generations to see what all the fuss was about. 🙏👌💕🕺
Everybody know Elvis is from south Mississippi tupelo hé grew up in Memphis Tennessee who is thé capital of thé blues so hé is not only a rocker hé is before a blues man and have son call rock n' Roll and Elvis hé is really thé king of rock and i Can Say hé is thé king of music 😮❤ and you kno that WE love you Elvis youre thé best artist in thé World thats true WE are Elvis fan from Algéria Elvis dont have some fans WE are a nation of Elvis Presley ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤...thanks alot suzi and Travis youre mazing i love all youre Elvis réactions ❤ill bé glad if you accept this request to make a réaction of baby what do you want me to do of thé second show Come back spécial 1968 ❤❤accoustic guitare ..thanks alot youre mazing ❤
First of all you two are adorable. I saw Elvis in 1977 6 months before he passed and he never lost that incredible voice. Me Dad was head of his security when he was here he was a police chief of WPB Florida and said he was the nicest person and it was a pleasure to meet him. Just thought I would share that.
I’ll have to say you two are the best reaction people on TH-cam. Yall really listen to Elvis songs and yall also crack me up. Yall sooooo silly. Love it!! 🤣🤣
I love how you guys like to fun with your reactions because you just draw the rest of us in on the fun. When you two start laughing , we laugh ,too...I tried once not to laugh , but it was useless . Thanks for the Elvis reactions , and thanks ,too, for all the fun. I think you might be my favorite reaction channel of all.
Elvis never disappoints. The Colonel ran the business and Elvis ran the music including what he recorded and who made up his road band. He started with James Burton on lead guitar who was from Ricky Nelson’s band when he was a teen heartthrob. Ronnie Tutt on drums. Jerry Scheff on Fender Bass. Back up singers The Sweet Inspirations, J.D. Sumner and the Stamps, and Kathy Westmoreland. Collectively they were known as the TCB band for Taking Care of Business. There were other musicians and a full orchestra that were part of the traveling road show.
Hey guys great one. Thanks ! Musicians : Guitar : James Burton, Rythm Guitar : John Wilkinson, Drums : Ron Tutt, Bass : Jerry Scheff (Doors L.A Woman session bass), Piano : Glen D. Hardin, Vocals and acoustic guitar : Charlie Hodge. Backing vocals : Sweet Inspirations, JD Sumner and the Stamps Quartet. Orchestra conductor : Joe Guercio
A fun little story... Rhythm guitar player John Wilkerson from Springfield. The first time he met Elvis was in 1956 when Elvis came through Springfield Missouri at The Shrine Mosque. John was only around 12 to 14 years at the time and he rode his bike to the Shrine to see if he could meet Elvis before the show, because his parents didn't allow him to go to the concert. He snuck in the backstage area and he came across Elvis sitting in a room all by himself. They had some small talk and then Elvis asked him if he wanted to ask him any questions or tell him anything... And John told him well the only thing I can tell you is you can't play the guitar worth a damn! Elvis cracked up it asked him if he could play better and John asked him for his guitar and he played him a song or two. John Wilkerson was part of a family bluegrass band and was very good. After he was done, Elvis told him that he plays very good and maybe one day he could play for him. Years go by and as Elvis is putting together the TCB band in 1968 he called John Wilkerson. And John worsen actually hung up on him when he called because he did not believe it was Elvis. Elvis called back and told him not to hang up on him again and he gave him the job!
Another fun filled reaction to a fine performance which always amazes me as he made so few vocal errors although under a global spotlight and the pressure that went with it all.
Yes, Elvis did audition his band He said in his 1972 45 min Interview -- He went through hundreds for the band.. but Not James Burton -- Elvis asked Who was the best guitarist Everyone said Glenn Campbell and Elvis said Well, He's Out LOLLL Then James auditioned right away!!! And He said He was lucky because most all of them knew his Music.... Then He talked about how the shows were set up everyone had their part -- Costumes - Makeup - Stage Sound - Lighting etc VERY Wonderful Interview -- He talked about making Movies and How He could not be paid all the money in the world to ever do it again --- He said He was so Stressed He had Fever / Stomach Aches / Could not sleep - He said He could read a script 4 pages in and know it was the same Movie Different Name and 12 Mediocre Songs.... Not even close to his standards but He said I did it ... "It was a Job." Talks about so much and He gets Fired UP about making the movies the rest of the time He is so chill
I was Presley picked everyone of his singers he choreographed everything he arranged everything he was like Michael Jordan he was all about perfection. That’s why he’s a king, but a boom, but a bing
Any star, or superstar like Elvis was, I would imagine has say over who is on the stage with them...If they like what kind of musician they are , they stay ..If not, they go !
I didn’t catch this when it first aired, but I remember what must have been a Re-showing of the broadcast, probably sometime in the first half of 1974.
James Burton(Mr Pink Guitar) first worked for Ricky Nelson in the 50s. He became the go-to guy for studio work. Listen to the best known Merle Haggard hits. That's James on the record. Elvis grabbed him as soon as he was available.....
Elvis handpicked the rhythm section except for the Sweet Inspirations and James Burton (lead guitar) everyone had to audition. He knew what he wanted for his TCB band. (Taking Care of Business) Jerry Scheff bass, John Wilkinson rhythm, Glenn D Hardin piano and the grfeat Ronnie Tutt drums. Fun stuff and reaction.
His 1973 TV special from Hawaii was broadcast by satellite and over a billion people watched it live, more than those who watched the first landing on the moon in 1969.
I may not be into metal, but I am into Elvis and I just love you guys' reactions to his music and stage performances. I just binge watch you all the time. You go Matt!👍🏽I don't add songs because he has it covered. Besides every one of your videos are 1-2 years past the date I'm watching. This is the closest I've been to almost up to date. (8 mos.) You guys and Matt keep it coming. 🤗👍🏽💖 I SUBSCRIBED some time ago.
1 of Elvis' SEXIEST and most suggestive of songs! Another is Power of My Love! Wish you reacted to the studio version instead bec here you can't here all the lyrics when he kisses women or whatever
You are aware that Whitney Houston's mother sang backup vocals for Elvis Presley. You can see an interview with Cissy Houston that is Whitney's mother she talks about how there was not a racist bone in his body
Any chance you can do Meshuggah abysemel eye next(there’s a video for it too). It’s been a while since you’ve done Meshuggah. But if you have already done it, please provide the link so I can watch it
A true story I heard about Elvis. Is that 1 time he was performing at the astrodome? When he got there, they told him that his backup singers can stay home, Elvis said. Well, I'm not performing if they're not up there with me.
Elvis always auditioned and picked his band, back-up singers and orchestra leaders. He had total control of the whole production of his performances. He was always in touch with everything going on. Correct.
I could not have say it better then you!!!
💯 correct
Absolutely did there Will never be another Elvis ❤
They didn't call him The King for nothing. Elvis was one of a kind.
Elvis built the band for his 1969 return to live performances. He hand-picked them all, and they were with him right through to the end
The great thing is he hired the Sweet Inspirations without hearing them, he loved the Sweets
Elvis is the goat.❤
Elvis selected each band member and singer. He auditioned all of them personally.
Thank you two sooooo much for Elvis.
Elvis always picked his own band and singers. He was even doing this when he first exploded at the age of 20 in 1955. And for the most part he did all of the arranging as well, and while he didn't write stuff, he was a brilliant brilliant arranger, which I don't think gets mentioned enough.
It’s been a long time no reaction from Elvis. Elvis is the best. That’s why he is the KING. Love your reaction. More please 💕💕💕💕

اعظم فنان على مر العصور لم ولن يتكرر الملك بدون منازع
Nothing but the best for the best ... Elvis and his entire crew loved the music they made together ! TCB forever !
He performed once in Hawaii and raised money for the Pearl Harbor Memorial and he was one of the main contributors to the first fund raiser for the building of St. Jude’s Research Hospital for children with cancer. He wasn’t a perfect man but he had so much good in him.

James Taylor wrote this song as a parody of blues songs ("I'm a napalm bomb...) yet Elvis managed to turn it into a sultry, steamy, sexy song.
Great reaction kids! It seems like Elvis had complete control of all aspects of the music. Especially at this point in his career.
Elvis chose his musicians and his backing singers himself and they stayed with him They always said they had to watch him like a hawk to react to his directions, he was known for ad libbing and being spontaneous without notice. I was wondering when we’d get another Elvis from you. Woohoo!!! One of my favorites. ❤
Elvis auditioned and picked every single musician and singer on that stage.

He picked every musician and was involved in every phase of production
There was not a single aspect of Elvis' stage show that he did not decide upon and that included all musicians and back up singers.
Elvis picked all his people. He orchestrated everything
