When I first became an Elvis fan back in 1971 I saw the documentary film 'Elvis That's the Way It Is' and I could tell right away that this man had music flowing through his veins from his head to his toes. He said right from the beginning, when he was getting backlash from gyrating on TV, that if he couldn't move he couldn't sing. He just feels the lyrics and is THE BEST interpreter of songs you'll ever hear/see ❤
The Beatles had the same wish as the two of you when they came to America. A bunch of celebrities the likes of Sinatra wanted to meet them but there was only one person in this country they wanted to meet: Elvis. When they finally did, they were so star struck that they simply looked at him without saying a word and eventually Elvis said, "Well, if you guys don't wanna talk, I might as well go back to bed." This broke the ice plus the fact that Elvis started playing around with his bass guitar leading to a jam session. Oh, can you just imagine?! Also, if you didn't know, Elvis was John Lennon's hero.
I was 7 years old when I saw this concert live from Hawaii this was the first concert to be televised around the I saw Elvis he was the man I wanted to be he's a king of everything the greatest ever

I love how Elvis directs his orchestra and singers. So much truth in this song for Elvis. His twin brother died at birth, his father was in prison, his wife did leave him and took his daughter. He truly could make his audience feel his pain! God bless Elvis forever!❤
@@lisacook9482 Yes she was! With his karate instructor, Mike Stone. People piss me off when they try to find any little thing to tarnish EP’s image and memory. Priscilla was 14 when they met in Germany in 1959. She moved to Graceland in 1963 while still a teenager, they married in 1967, had Lisa Marie in 1968, and divorced in 1973. That’s a LOT for a very young girl to go through in a relatively short period of time. EP was gone a lot and because of his stardom she lived a very reclusive life. Definitely the G. O.A.T. and sadly “gone too soon” or “way before their time” unfortunately, just like many others but, he owned the stage and the audience, especially, the ladies. It must have been difficult staying loyal to your beliefs and values in a dog eat dog environment, of the music industry’s where most are “chasing the bag”. The movie is definitely worth seeing if you haven’t already. Enjoy your day and take care
Elvis acually spike about this song in vegas because people thought it was about him He said it wasn't but he loved songs with meaning and the words touched him
This is a feat that has not been duplicated by anyone to this day. He was my hero growing up. My parents let us stay up to see this telecast because it was shown at midnight and we had school the next day. I'm so happy I was lucky to have seen him in concert 3xs. He not only was the the King of Rock but he was the king of cool.
If you look into it a little you will find that Elvis had met with a little girl and her Mother, the little girl loved Elvis, and wanted to meet him before she died of cancer. She and her Mother did meet with Elvis, and He promised he would sing a song for her once the the concert got started. This was the song He performed, and there is a video of this meeting here on TH-cam, but I no longer remember the title.
Marty Robbins could. He wrote over 200 great songs, all but 3 by himself. He is one of the very best singer/songwriters of our time. And, oh by the way, Elvis only co-wrote 2 lousy songs in his career.
I have to say that I love watching you both doing reactions to this Iconic Superhuman Man. I remember when this was aired on TV. I was just a little girl but I remember my parents letting me watch it from start to finish. It was aired all around the world live, if I remember correctly. I would have loved to have had the blessing to see him live. I have to be honest that whenever he sings some of these super strong powerful ballads I cry. To see his emotion and hear it is overwhelming to me. Very sad to see what fame did to him though. I cannot imagine not being able to walk out your door of your home without being watched. I dont believe in the stories that he faked his own death, but I definitely could never blame him if he did. So now he is happy and not in pain mentally or physically and he has his precious daughter with him once again but both taken far too young.🥺💔💔🙏🙏

She left him because he was a serial cheater so lets get that right for a start .Any pain he suffered as a result was self inflicted .
She was running around on him to. Let's get that straight.
Self inflicted pain does not mean it doesn’t happen or that somehow it cannot be allowed to make others feel pain.
