Tangem for sure. As for Ledger they've lost my trust when they revealed that they can extract the seed phrase from the wallet on to a secure place so people can get it back if they lose it. It kind of defeat the purpose of having your "cold" wallet. NOT YOUR KEYS, NOT YOUR CRYPTO.
You realise this is optional and you do not need to do it also it can only happen with the users consent and the code is open source so it is checkable. This doesn’t happen automatically or against ur wishes
Tangem has 25 yrs lifetime, it works without battery it's very easy to use tangem is safer as seeds are never to be seen. By anyone Tangem price is 50 USD very pocket friendly , Tangem is by far is a winner
Yes, it seems that tangem is safer and more trustworthy than ledger, but only time will tell. Who knows... just like ledger. We thought it was safe too until they revealed what they revealed to us. The same thing could happen with tangem so never be too sure of one product.
HI Mikita, Thanks for explaining the use cases for both hardware wallets. Ledger=vault, tangem = credit card. Long term vs Short term. HODL vs Trading. I am decided, i will be buying a tangem.
Tangem is my cup of tea! especially when using the option 1 which is no seed phrase setup it's very easy to carry one and store the 2 cards in safe place. also I love the feature that it is waterproof you don't have to worry when carrying it around 😀 When the world adopts crypto payments I think Tangem will have more edge in the market especially they will be releasing the Tangem ring version.
I think the most secure is the Ledger and I will express why: tangem uses 12 words seed phrase (even if you see it or not). Indeed you can import a 24 words seed phrase, but still they exist. But the Ledger have the extra layer of security: the 25th word that the user can add it and that one is not one of the 2048 BIP words. That 25th word can have symbols, numbers, small letters, capital letters in any combination and any count. That extra layer does not exists with Tangem, sadly. So there is an almost infinite small chance that somebody gets the same 12 or 24 words seed phrase just by randomly generating it. But it exist and that means there could be a problem. The rest of issues generated with ledger in the last years are also important to balance it, but still, I do think Ledger is not extracting user's seed phrases without their consent, so I consider myself safe on this. To conclude, I use ledger as main storage for my tiny portfolio (don't have too much money to invest, sadly) and I do not have a tangem, but if I would win a Tangem to your giveaway, I would use it to store about 25% of the portfolio (not more) to have access to it everywhere in case things go wild and I have to sell or buy some coins when I'm away of my main Ledger cold storage. That's all. Oh, and I wish everybody a wonderfully and profitable 2024 !
see,@@IExertio here you are wrong. Ledger was NEVER hacked. That was the database with the names, emails etc. of the clients that bought from their website was stolen. Not something related to the devices themselves or something related to crypto coins hold in the wallets. You cannot say that the wallets are unsafe because the hackers have the emails of the ones that bought from their website. You get it? You know what hardware wallet was hacked? Trezor was hacked. The Trezor device itself is hackable. Not the Ledger one... And the last "hack" that you are calling it happen (from the "numerous times" ones) is related to a fake software installed from an unofficial website by few users. That is not hack, that is a scam.
You maybe a small channel but you are providing immeasurable information to the audience. Thank you and keep it up! Personally, for faster transactions of buying and selling, it would seem that Tangem would be the fastest and most reliable one. For long term per say (5-8 year such as BTC or ICP ) holding Ledger seems to be the better option.
I would like to get a Ledger because I think it's very convenient, the most well known and also has the most features with 3rd party wallets. I trade a lot of NFTs and altcoins and Ledger is easier to use with that. Would love to win and great channel ! Keep working
Definitely I'll go for the ledger as it's very user friendly and easily connects to sparrow wallet for a more secure use. Also in the case of loss or other misfortune you can add your seed frase to Electrum or another software wallet for easy recovery.
Hi, one problem with Tangem I have is that if you have access to 2 cards, then you can get into it without knowing the access code or seed phrase. To me that is a vulnerability. However, it is very hard to find the right balance between usability and security.
Ive been looking for a recent, high quality review for these and you’ve done a great job! I went ahead and purchased a ledger, so id love to use a Tangem on the go!
Ledger is a untrustworthy company Tangem seems cool, but the integration with other software wallets is low. So it seems its really just for holding coins, and when you want to interact with dapps you send to a live wallet.
Just found your channel, I found it very informative and you have convinced me to choose the Tangem wallet as it best fits my needs. Keep the good videos coming and i will keep watching my friend.
I would be interested in the Tangem wallet. The software and screens Ledger is adding may cause issues and date the device and I'm concerned with the announced attack vector they previously said was impossible. Hopefully interoperability can improve so that hardware wallets that aren't the big two (Ledger and Trezor) can seamlessly hold and utilize different chains.
Hey mikita happy holidays. I have Ledger nano X, but since resent hack i lost trust in Ledger. Now i am thinking of buying Trezor Safe 3. What you think about Trezor?
What if someone sees that I have a Tangem card, then forces me to give them my phone and that card. With the card and the phone, can my coins be stolen? Or is there another step involved
I think it’s too risky because, as soon as you take a screenshot, you don’t know how many copies of your seed phrase you already have. It might sync somewhere else. In this way, I believe the whole point of a hardware wallet is lost.
Tangem is the one to go for me, for its sleek design, user friendliness yet with reliable security deatures. 🎉 Just found out your channel recently and hey guys lets push this channel up, it deserve more subs right!
I really like the simplicity of Tangem for daily use cases and also for begginers I think is the best option to avoid the anxiety that selfcustody use to generate
I still have the Ledger Nano S. I think i heard it right that the firmware update is not possible on this device. I do not like to see Ledgers recent moves but i would love to use the S still. Would you say the Nano S is still a very good/secure hardware wallet? ….I’ve noticed that Ledger stoped selling the Nano S and at the same time brought out the recovery feature🤔
I think it didn’t get worse. I also have the first nano S, that works as a backup for me. But I decided to upgrade because very limited memory capacity, it was just impossible to store 3+ coins
I already have the Ledger but after some years the display starts to be unreadable. Also it is very small and my eyes tired from the PC start to have problem to read it. Therefore I am going to buy the Tangem soon. Thanks for your valuable videos! Pavel
I would like to get the Tangem because after alot of research I think it's the better solution even tho Ledger have more chains and coins capability at the moment. 😁
Thanks for comparison! Anyhow one correction - you always can import any token to any of them with CA. And Tangem wins in price - nice for a beginner to try. For me it is the best decision. To charging, no seed phrase, no issues
Thank you for providing such an informational video! I think the Ledger wallet is more secure and convenient to use as I can connect it to a computer or cell phone. I also like the Ledger to hold my assets in the long term.
I would choose Tangem just because it supports my coin of choice) For a hardware wallet it is secure enough, and it doesn't muddle with a bunch of "extra" functionality
Great analysis, thank you! Just a quick off-topic question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
I have a Ledger Nano S and am now considering between upgreading to Ledger Nano S Plus or Tangem wallet because Nano S only holds 2-3 coins. I'm like Tangem but worry that the manufacturer has the keys to the card. Ledger runs on computer it feels more secure than on phone like tangem.
Also please consider an EMP a++ack or massive solar flare which could burn out the chip in the card. It may be best to store 2 of the 3 cards in a EMF proof storage pouch or faraday enclosure. Advantage of seed phrase is hopefully it can be restored after such a catastrophic event from a list of words engraved on a metal plate which can't be burned out.
I would like the tangem because I have a ledger and the cable stopped working and I had to buy a new one and I find the numbers hard to read with my bad eyes!
Does Tangem support XRP ledger? Ive been trying to send xrp from Robinhood to My tangem wallet and it says "the address tag you entered is invalid".....????????
Hi informative video.. I’m new to crypto and I have Coinbase exchange, I don’t feel comfortable leaving my crypto on Coinbase.. I like the ledger wallet.. the tangem has auto generated seed phase .. rather generate my own.. thanks karl
Given the choice between the two, I'd opt for Tangen. The appeal of a card that's simpler to conceal or, as you mentioned, more portable, resonates with me. Regarding the Nano's use of seed words, my preference leans towards the Trezor due to its open-source nature.
What’s up with these rent fees, reserve fees and existential deposit for some of the networks? Like solana, Xrp and polkadot to store my cryptos? Others cold wallets don’t have these charges why is Tangem doing this? It’s turning me off smh

you lost my respect the moment you said ledger has been operating since 2014 without a single hack. fyi both ledger & Trezor have been hacked
I decided to part ways with my Ledger X and S devices and opted for an upgrade, acquiring two Keystone 3 Pro for myself.
Hbar and Algo are doing the same thing. It's the future.
They can’t access your words if you don’t signed with your device.
@HtPt
Yep I agree. It's positive progress
You realise this is optional and you do not need to do it also it can only happen with the users consent and the code is open source so it is checkable. This doesn’t happen automatically or against ur wishes
They don’t. They use sharding, they never get the full seed

What a great vid. All good points. My fave is tangem.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'll go with the Tangem wallet (3-pack)!
It's minimal, no-fuss, simple to use, highly secure and the added bonus of 2 backups!!
Thanks. I’d like to try Tangem

Tangem Wallet. Mainly because I already have ledger. Nice video by the way!
Excellent tip at 9:56 never use DeFi on your main wallet!

Yes, but you can disable that feature for each card
Tangem for sure! ,, Love the ease of use.
Have the ledger but been looking at the tandem. Looks very interesting!
I’ll take Tangem wallet for sure.

Ledger is a untrustworthy company

Tangen would be awesome . Looks nice and easy
Tangem, I saw they have Kaspa tangem cards now but I can't find myself. Would be awesome to get that and they're secure!
TANGEM BUT NOT SURE WHICH TANGEM IS BETTER WITH OR WITHOUT PASSPHRASE !
Thank you for providing such an informational video! I think the Ledger wallet is more secure and convenient to use as I can connect it to a computer or cell phone. I also like the Ledger to hold my assets in the long term.

Is NFC connecting safe to use with crypto 🤔
I would choose Tangem just because it supports my coin of choice) For a hardware wallet it is secure enough, and it doesn't muddle with a bunch of "extra" functionality
What about staking? Will this wallet secure cryptos that are staked on Metamask etc?
I don't use any of them but if i'd win i'd like the Tangem - it just looks cooler and is more compact
After creating new seed phrase in tangem, do I need to transfer my crypto from my hot wallet to tangem newly created wallet ?

I'd be interested in a video about the Ellipal hardware wallet and the Ngrave hardware wallet. What are your thoughts on each of these two?
I would pick tandem. 3 water proof cards that can be stored in many different places. It is very fast and accessible as well!
Importing a pre-created 24-word seedphrase into the Tangem card would make it more secure than creating a 12-word seedphrase by just the card?

I would like the tangem because I have a ledger and the cable stopped working and I had to buy a new one and I find the numbers hard to read with my bad eyes!
I'd love to choose tangem but the reason I'm going to opt for ledger instead is because you can connect to third party eg metamask.
Good choice 👍🏻 Just FYI, you can do wallet connect on Tangem. Almost every dapp supports it.
I want the Tangem wallet!
I like Tangem wallet because of its simplicity and user friendly interface plus Community support.
I choose Ledger bcz i also have tangem wallet. I want to review a ledger device 👀✨️

Tangem wallet. Because of security reason
I think it would be much harder to lose your crypto if you do what you said and import a pre-created seedphrase onto two or more sets of Tangem cards.
Given the choice between the two, I'd opt for Tangen. The appeal of a card that's simpler to conceal or, as you mentioned, more portable, resonates with me. Regarding the Nano's use of seed words, my preference leans towards the Trezor due to its open-source nature.
Fair enough!

Ledger my choice ❤ because it’s very security
I call cap on the "high quality USB cable". I used mine like twice before it broke and I had to find a spare one from my phone.
Tangem seems easier to use for a novice cryptocurrency investor. Fewer physical bits to keep track of.
Mainly Tangem so I can get my cousin into using cold storage for crypto easier
Tandgem, seems useful to me 😀
I use only hot mobile wallets since 9 years and never had any problems or exploits
Tangem with 3 cards and a seed phrase it the safest in my mind.
If I win I would like to try the Tangem! Then I will buy my 1st Satoshi!
I just subscribed and would love a Tangem
Tangem seems the clear winner!!
Im more convinced for ledger because the sistem that uses and i think it's easier for exchange
