I wish all TH-cam "builders" were so coherent, descriptive and articulated as you. Well edited, simple and to the point. Fucking nice. The only thing I miss is a little visual test with zombies.

    • @CJMINDMATTER
      @CJMINDMATTER  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

So I like to keep the test of the zombies separate so the video isn't so long. Just so its just the build itself. That way its easier for me in the future if I want to look back on stuff. I try to keep it straight to the point because I don't care about the TH-cam analytics just posting video I find useful for me and if they help others its a bonus.

Great base! I'll try this for sure 🙃 I might be wrong, but I think the demolishers have a 5 block explosion that punches through walls. If that's still true, i'd dig deeper to separate my crafting area, benches and storage from the blast at least a couple more blocks. Same for the electric fences that could get destroyed quickly being that close. That section could be wider and fence posts be further from the action

    • @CJMINDMATTER

I‘d create a 1 block cavity per campfire, to have it nicely tucked away. I’m not a fan of dancing around a fire just to not set myself on fire. The campfire in a cavity can also be nicely covered with a trapdoor, makes it a tiny bit more like an oven… 😏

Hey CJ. Just want to say i used this build of yours on two seperate worlds and I love it. Absolutely amazing! (Xbox)
First one was my solo world where, at the start of the 11th horde night, I was level 96. I had plently of forged steel so i upgraded most of it to steel. I already had a crafting/storage base so i did the 8×8×5. Though i added two holes in the floor for storage and generator, but I put a concrete block under each just in case they thought it was a way in. I also placed two extra smg turrets just to up the efficiency of them while i repaired the fence posts. Hardly anything was damaged. Though, I have a full kit of level 6 and HP ammo for sniper and m60.
Second one was another world that I host for two others while our usual host isn't online. This one was concrete in the vunerable parts and cobblestone elsewhere, but again it was 8×8×5 because we had a house we already set up in. This was for day 7 but with 120 minute days and boosted exp, so by the time that came around I was level 45-50. I couldnt make traps though and could only find 1 smg and 4 fence posts. The other two players were well under my level because I grinded for the base materials when they were offline. This base took more damage than the steel version but mostly because a couple cops exploded, and with only two sets of fence posts, many zombies were reaching the hatches. Also we didnt have much ammo. Not a single block was broken. I was repairing the railings mid battle just in case but it wasnt even needed.
Sorry this part was long but i just wanted to share that this is a fantastic base design. And you get to kill every single zombie. Previously i had a super simple base, that never failed, but it used spike traps that dont net you exp, and was expensive to repair and re-setup.
    Thank you!

above the hatches, put a quarter block so that if they stack up or what have you they won't try to crawl over, if they make it that far.maybe put a motion sensor behind the kill position to activate the traps so you don't have to worry about the switches... just gota watch for cop spit if you are sitting there. speaking of.. if cop runs over top it may try to spit through the bars above. not sure if that's a thing now but i'm pretty sure i've had it happen to me before.

I am using your previous version in two different play-throughs and while it absolutely works like a charm on my solo play-through, the version I have with 2 friends is having one main issue that I cannot figure out. For whatever reason, during bloodmoons the majority of the zombies stand over the "vulture hole" (for lack of a better term) and obviously if they are not killed as fast as possible, they eventually break through. I see no differences in pathing from your base to either of mine and while my solo version works as expected, the one with my friends is nearly unmanageable.

I’m still getting a zombie or two glitching down to the lower level even after double blocking the floor. So what I’ve done now is moved the crafting area behind me and have two double vault doors in between the fighting area and the crafting room and filled the rest of the lower level with blocks. Not sure why I’m having that issue. Otherwise the base works great 😊

I had the same issue with the 1st version. Eventuall I just took all my benches and my forge outta there and threw them in a smaller base I made above ground behind the bunker. All I keep down there now is some steel storage crates and campfire. Now during horde, I just leave the hatch open and jump down there periodically to kill whatever has glitched through the floor.

Hey CJ. Great build. I’ve upgraded my base from your V1 to this one.
I’m having an issue though. I built it exactly to spec as you did in the vid, yet when the zombies drop down they IMMEDIATELY target and punch the back left corner. It’s all concrete. Every zed does. And that back area of the shooting gallery (that has both ladders) is a “safe spot” from the fence posts.

Well, you have to add some disclaimers:
    1. does not work for gamestage > 150, since demolishers very quickly damage that little kabuff in mere seconds
    2. does not work for any settings other than vanilla beginners, since that little kabuff gets quickly overrun even by zombies below gamestage 150
    3. does not work for any PC below top level performance rating, since with dropping FPS, the fire rates drops, too, and you get overrun even earlier in the game
    4. If you dare to set the number of "bloodmoon count" (former "max alive") to bigger than 32, you get overrun even by beginner hordes, since the kabuff is much too small to accommodate them at ones, thus they will dig in from multiple directions at ones in mere minutes.
Fazit: It's an interesting "easy game beginners base" idea. BUT then the question arises from where the concrete material should come. If you build that from wood or cobblestone, that base is even more brittle and will crumble even faster.
