    india is full of tourist attractions, both natural and man made, the problem lack of awareness and support from government in looking after them.....

    WOnderful, I hope I can visit this beautiful place. I commend the people, everyone involed in the conservation of the turtles. This village is a role model and I hope more such places adopt this village's initiative. I have visited a simialr turtle release program in Texas. It is really exhiliarting to see those super cute tiny ones stepping out into the real world and hopefully they all come back to the same beach and lay their own eggs.

      Congrats on the efforts for conservation....but the sad reality is that it's humans destroying them by killing and eating them...that's like hippocracy

      @@krishnamoodley9462 humans are responsible for all destruction. this is not a India only problem. This is happening all over the world, rich countries, poor countries all are responsible for the destruction.

    I think this is wonderful - teaching peple to take care os vulnerable animals. India has wonderful wildlife - some don't exist elesewhere. Time for Indians to take care of their 'heritage'...Great work and please keep this going !

    Great example of how an eco-conscious tourism can be developed to spread awareness along with conservation. Also, getting the local, indigenous community actively involved has ensured that their future generations will carry on the legacy.

    In Vizag, we can watch even closely. Sometimes, we are allowed to RELEASE them too. So cute lil ones these are!

    • @kanank13
      @kanank13 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      nice! even though it is a nice thing to release by regular folks. It is better to be careful because people's hands may have germs, lotion, food spices and what not and it may have negattive effects on thr turtle when they are touched.

      @@kanank13 It's regulated actually....the conservators bring them to the water..we can watch them or put them back in water in case they keep washing back due to the waves.😀

    Olive Ridley Turtle's largest natural hatching ground of India is at the coast of Gahirmatha beach, Odisha but it's unheard to many outsiders.

    It's amazing that the organisation has used the people who poached to protect the land.
    However, my question remains. What happens when the footfall increases? And Kayaking increases? I'm sure it would affect the fauna when human activities increase.

    One step forward in the right direction, preserve what is left of what makes this planet such a jewel, way too much damage has been done already, if we can't change the current path to utter destruction of the environment, WE will suffer tremendously and pay a price which will be of no relation to any market value, the value of a healthy environment can't be measured in $$$!

      who over fishes? Those who go in traditional fishing cannot over fish bcoz it will
      deplete their fish stock and they cannot go deeper. The large mechanised boats do that but who will ctach them ? Scroll ? they cannot ... only govt patrolling can ctach them

    Noisy tourists disturbing their privacy. These places should be just for the turtles. Money by tourism is the downfall
