The birds of Shuka Vana are fed four times daily. Their first meal is comprised of fresh fruits like apples, grapes and small bananas from 9am. Then they are fed a variety of fresh green leafy vegetables and other different vegetables between 12-1pm. They are then fed a mixture of different seeds. They are given at least one to two hours exercise daily and also about one hour sunlight. This daily routine contributes to a healthy and happy bird. Thank you Appji for this wonderful Rehabilitation Center.
Tears come to my eyes to see the plight of injured birds. I thank swamiji for this wonderful facility that preserves not only birds that are endangered but also the birds that are injured.

This is a rare and happy place. This place takes you back into time when sages and hermits lived in the forests in harmony with nature. The chirping of the birds is a soothing and calms down the disturbance in the mind. Jaya Guru Datta to Sri Swamiji for giving us such a rare opportunity to view and interact with such beautiful birds.
Swamiji's love and compassion for the birds has no limits. The story of flight is an example. No where can you see a place where birds are taken care of so well. Thanks to Appaji for Shuka Vana..
Jaya Guru Datta. I'm proud to say that Shukavana has one of the largest collection of parrots in India. It is because of Pujya Appaji's love and compassion for these endangered birds that today, Shukavana stands majestically in the serene environment of Datta Peetham. Shukavana also has an exclusive hospital to take care of birds that are injured or birds with deformities or any other bird related problems. My humble pranams to Pujya Appaji, under whom a group of dedicated volunteers work hard to keep these magnificent birds healthy and happy.
It is a great privilege to live in such a wonderful environment where hundreds of divine birds are being taken care of in the world's best aviary. Thank you Sri Swamiji for giving such a great opportunity and thanks SGS Birds for posting such a wonderful documentary.
I had been to Shukavana on my recent visit to India, there are so many birds in the aviary and amazed by the cleanliness being maintained which is so important for the birds, should really appreciate the volunteers taking care of Shukavana
With a glance, a word, a touch, and some delicious food prasadam - Sadguru Sri Swamiji changes the nature of thousands of devotees worldwide from impatient to patient, intolerant to tolerant, sad to happy, selfish to unselfish, greedy to generous, and ignorant to wise. He does the same thing to birds, mostly parrots, which turn friendly from scared, mild from wild, and trusting from suspicious. These birds will soon be reborn as humans, perhaps as our own children, grandchildren, or children of friends, with these decent and noble qualities acquired through Sadgurudeva's grace. What a wonderful future for the world Swamiji is creating with this amazing project called Shuka Vana! It is most incredible and divine. Jaya Guru Datta
This man is so full of love and compassion he makes me want to go there and kneel at his feet. Why can't the whole world have this approach to animals? If all creatures were protected ( and not eaten and abused) our planet would heal.
Thank you for doing all this for the hurt parrots and i thank you so many times for this thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you again and thank you again for ever.
It is a remarkable achievement to establish India's premier rehabilitation center for birds in short span of time so well and treat so many birds and save so many species. It is only possible for Sri Swamiji.
These birds are getting closer and closer to my heart the more I watch this video again and again. And the easyness of Sri Swamiji is truly amazing. He seems to be enjoying very much to interact with the birds.
We all should work to protect them against evil people!!!!!I I want to work with you to protect them and let them free without been threatened !Blessed uthe Lord of them!!!!!!!
All the sounds of all the parrots, as I walked through Shuka Vana today, was like music to me. A healing music, a therapeutic healing session for my stressed, strained nervous system. Stressed and strained from the daily routines and demands of this fast paced world. It is a great place to visit, reflect and relax.
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, the parrots love this man, and you can see he loves them, parrots are very intelligent beings, loving and caring, and very responsive to human interaction, i have a Quaker parrot , and a golden mantled rossela parrot, the. rossela has taken me seven years for her to sit on my hand, strange little thing, but the quaker Marley just loves to sit on my shoulder and just be himself with me, What a nice man this guy is, and what a beautiful aviary, i wish,
Wow! Such a magnificient bird sanctuary! Serene forest like and pollution free atmosphere, free flight, fresh and quality food & water, utmost medical care, nurturing & protecting endangered species, wide variety of birds, training given to birds, birds chanting divine names, specific birds for each day, graha, rashi & swara, spacious bird rooms, dedicated staffs & doctors for birds and last but not the least, personal attention and gentle care offered buly Sri Swamiji! What and what not! Birds cannot find a better place to live on this earth!
Sri Swamiji is not collecting colorful birds for fun and games. This is a profoundly sacred plan to bring to the world noble human beings in future generations. The parrots of today at Shuka Vana are personally spiritually energized, trained and nurtured with virtuous qualities and spiritual insights so that when they are reborn as human beings shortly, they will become leaders in spirituality, various arts, various professions, and even politics. This is a mega plan that is mind-boggling, to create a bright, new, peaceful world in the future.. Jaya Guru Datta
Thank you to Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda for buildimg such a wonderful place called Shuka Vana. This beautiful free flight bird aviary built on 1 acre of land is a heaven on earth to the bird that live there. These birds are so well trained and very intillegent. Some of them can even talk in five different languages. Most beautiful birds.
The serene and the rich greenery surrounding, motherly affection and attention these birds get here is really healthy in all ways for their protection, safety and preservation. When I was watching these birds get fed, fly freely and get back and get fed again, I remembered by childhood days when we used to run around after one handful of food from mom and come back and get the next. It was very nostalgic and touching for me to see that motherly love and affection that all these parrots are getting. Lucky them.....
The place where this is located is ideal for birds, the weather, the temperature, the park, the trees, waterfall. I could see these birds fly so freely and are very calm. Feel so nice to see centers like these caring for birds.
I love to experience all the wonderful birds of Shuka Vana! The macaws and parrots are squawking away waiting on anyone to chat with. The cockatoos are only too ready to do the funny dance while the other birds keep chirping and tweeting! Hearing all this with the flow of cascading water in the background and the gentle movement of the greenery wafting in the breeze! What a pleasant environment for sick and injured birds to recuperate!
Just observing the beautiful interaction with Sri Swamiji with the birds, the staff with the birds and visitors with the birds is such a wonderful experience. Such a calm feeling, such soothing sights, I am truly convinced Shuka Vana is not only a bird sanctuary it's also a human sanctuary. Can't wait to visit once more!
The magnanimity of Swamiji shows his eyes and in his actions. His love for these birds speaks millions about how we all have to share this planet for a peaceful coexistence and peaceful journey on this planet for generations to come. I see a message of love and sharing being conveyed through this video by Swamiji to the human race. We need more and more such undertakings to cure the mindsets of humans for a better tomorrow.
It's really moving just how much this guy obviously cares for those birds from the way they completely trust him... but looool, that cockatiel on the right at 17:34
His Holiness commitment to the cause of birds, their care, and his dedication to save the endangered and critically endangered species is infinitely commendable. Hats off to you Sri Swamiji. You go Shuka Vana!
Great treat to watch these beautifully colored parrots from across the globe at a peaceful, friendly caring center. Amazed to see some birds like pesquet's parrots, palm cockatoos, hyacinth macaws which I never even heard of.
Another place for the bird-lovers to get up close and personal interaction with colourful, feathered friends. It really is a delight to have these birds perch on your shoulder and take pictures with them! I liked the lorikeets and macaws exhibits. I found them very beautiful.
I was so touched to see those injured birds being treated and cared for, I always used to wonder about injured birds, how they get help. Feel a sense of comfort knowing there are centers like this that care for these birds and help them revive back to its nature.
Who ever have parrots as their pets know how difficult it is to teach them to talk. Sri Swamiji's love and dedicaion towards teaching these lovely birds to talk is really amazing.
When you visit places like Shuka Vana, it opens your eyes and tells you as to how little we know about things and other beings that are right around us, and that we see and work with on a daily basis. My visit to Shuka Vana taught me a lot about birds and I encourage every human being to get to know more about these wonderful beings.
The before and after pictures of birds which came to the center in bad shape but then regained strength and health are heart warming. So glad they were saved!
Usually when people think of India its all about dirty streets, old temples, curry and sarees. Never would one think about a rehabilitation centre for birds. What's exciting about this is that there are many tourists who visit india for nature and wildlife. This facility is in Mysore which is excellent for tourists. they can visit this facility and see so many species without the hassle of longs hikes etc. Here's a new reason to visit india...to take part in whats going to be a HUGE deal internationally. The sacredness of seeing a baby bird hatch from its egg or see and hear beautiful parrots flying overhead...such a wonderful thought
Quite true! I agree with this and no longer destitute or in harm's way Shuka Vana and Sri Swamiji have made this Rehabilitation Centre a true sanctuary for the Shuka Vana birds that reflects and personifies unceasing love and tranquillity.
I have a parrot at home. A yellow napped amazon. When I saw so many amazons in Shuka Vana, I was so thrilled. These are wonderful beings. Swamiji’s love for these birds is simply superb! His Holiness is out of this world, indeed!
Shukavana is a unique built and maintained entirely for welfare of the birds and with no financial motive whatsoever. Salute to Sri Swamiji's efforts. He rightly deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for His Herculean efforts.
The dedication of the doctors attending to the tiniest of birds is praiseworthy. every bird getting its due attention. The feeding areas and the diets are varied and numerous. the happiness of the birds is visible and their respect towards their mentor - Sri Swamiji is also very visible. The birds are so well mannered and disciplined. They patiently wait for their turn to be fed. The Shukhavana is an amazing world of Birds.
Today's birds will be our future siblings, children, grandchildren, friends, relatives, colleagues, service professionals in society, and leaders of the world. That is why it is so important to feed them, care for them, cure them, protect them, teach them, and love them. Jaya Guru Datta
There's no better place on earth or in any world for these parrots to live in a natural, and specifically an environment that is pervaded with divine vibrations. ShukaVana is not just any aviary but a very divine, pristine place where once can experience superb vibrations. These souls in the form of parrots are truly blessed to be in SadGuru Swamiji's association learning from Him, staying in His ashrama besides His, their SadGuru's hermitage, and this merit is enough for them to get better births in the future. They are a learning for us too. Totally awe stuck with their discipline, and intelligence.
Jaya guru datta, the efforts that were Putin to take care of these birds is incredible. Sri guru datta. Kudus to the entire team. Thank you datta peetham for amazing and beautiful shukavana besides bonsai and museum
i like the feeding of the birds, they are holding fresh fruit and all the birds so beautifully come to get there food. It must be so nice to feed the birds, a bonding will develop.
Words are not enough to describe, the grace, discipline, purity, devotion and unconditional love these pure souls in the form of birds display in this most amazing Aviary built in Mysore Datta Peetham Ashrama !
The people of India are very lucky to have this huge Aviary so close to them. Also there is so much to learn just by observing the motions at Shuka Vana. This place is so clean and visitor friendly we hope to revisit soon!
I had the great opportunity of walking with Sri Swamiji in the aviary and it is mesmerizing to know that His Holiness knows the pet names of each and every bird that is there in the Aviary. That itself shows how much care and commitment His Holiness has towards these wonderful beings. Hats off to you Sri Swamiji!
It gives immersive happiness when we see so many parrots in one place. Colorful feather friends are so cute and very adoptive. Once you step in you will never feel going back, such an experience you will get. Shukavana a wonderful place.
Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Ashram, which is one of my best known place I have ever been. For the past 25 years, I experience, watch, participate, and even get astonished by the way the projects and events occur in the presence of His Holiness Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji and His Holiness Sri Datta Vijayananda Teetha Swamiji. 'Shuka vana', one of the biggest aviary in India shows the vision of Sri Swamiji towards the living creatures of this world, especially toward birds - parrots. One may think in a negative way about this mega structure for birds, this shows the compassion HH Sri Swamiji has towards the birds and other animals other than Humans. The compassion 'Appaji' (as we all call HH) showers on us is inexplicable. One should experience. No words to describe. Now seeing this aviary, just imagine the care HE takes on US (humans) by just looking at the care taken for Parrots and other animals. This is an example which describes HH Sri Swamiji as a Jagadguru, who only can take care of all the creatures in this world. May His chiocest blessings shower upon us.
Sukhavana is the best bird sanctuary in India and it has rare collection of wonderful species of birds. Sukhavana houses injured birds also. There are different units for Sukhavana among which one of them is Nirivana. The facilities which are provided by Appaji for the injured birds is unique and very different from the facilities that are provided by different aviaries. The dedicated team of doctors and volunteers are always on their toes and help in improving the condition of the injured birds. It is first of its kind to have rehabilitation centre in India. It is a visual treat to see Appaji personally feeding all the birds. One who enters Sukhavana will have an amazing experience of seeing free flight birds and feeding the birds is another treat. After experiencing the thrill in Sukhavana, one can go to toy shop and buy the mementos. Sukhavana is the place to be visited frequently. I thank Pujya Appaji for giving us Sukhavana, the beautiful World of Birds.
shuka vana is an amazing place for birds its definitely a birds paradise and they deserve it birds are some of the most beautiful and caring animals on the planet and we are lucky to have such creatures roaming our sky's and what swamiji is doing to preserve the well being of these vast creatures is magical and magnificent
The first thing that caught my attention when I visited the Mysore Ashram for Datta Jayanti celebrations is the chirping and chanting of mantras by birds. There was a rhythm in the sounds they were making, like music! Words are insufficient to describe that unique experience. 'Shukavana', the aviary, is like a beautiful forest, but with world class facilities. There is ample space for the birds to fly around (their wings are not cut off to prevent them from flying), and they are protected well from outside dangers. The most touching part is the loving care given to the injured birds! Each and everyone of them is taken care of with love. And these birds mingle with us as if we are members of their family, welcoming us, greeting us.......Swamiji is a mother when feeding them, a small child when He plays hide and seek with them,a guide and master when they stand in total discipline waiting for Him. Yes, we can experience something beautiful and unique when we visit this place......Jai Guru Datta.
As soon as stepping into Shuka Vana, we are reminded by the beautiful fish, that we once were swimming in the waters as they do now. At the next step, we see that we were birds with feathers and wings not too long ago, and the trees and skies were our home. The beautiful forest-like setting refreshes the mind like no other place on earth. No wonder that all rishis of yore chose to live and meditate in forests. Jaya Guru Datta
Visiting Shukavana aviary is a truly rewarding experience for all the bird enthusiasts out there. This lovely place has birds of several species. All colors, shapes and sizes. Feeding the lorikeets ,watching macaws fly or listening to the parrots singing.. It's such joy. But true happiness is seeing those sick and injured birds being nursed back to health. That's priceless. Thank you Sri Swamiji for the amazing Shukavana.
Shukavana is such a beautiful place! I hope to visit it sometime soon! I was awestruck seeing the colorful birds. Shukavana is truly a gift that will benefit the world.
What an amazing rehabilitation center for birds. Here you can see over 300 different species of birds and bright colours of the rainbow. Very intelligent birds, they all have different personalities, some are talkative, some are quiet, some like to dance and some even chant mantras. Isn't this truly amazing.
I am truly blessed to be able to see all these beautiful birds, beautiful colours of the rainbow. These birds are really blessed souls to be in Shuka Vana. Being in Shuka Vana is like being in heaven. The love and attention Appaji shows the birds is so amazing with his busy schedule.
This is so incredibly to see! I work with rescue parrots myself so seeing this really makes me smile. It's so amazing seeing all kinds of parrots I hope to one day see, especially the red-tailed cockatoo!!! I hope to one day visit this place.
There is no other place in the world like Shuka Vana. Appaji's love and dedication to these birds is wonderful. The patience he portrays in teaching these birds to talk can be compared to a mother teaching her child.
I love to see the free flying of Macaws at 15:07 again and again. I am confident that these birds does not feel any time, that they are living in an Aviary; such a natural environment we can see here. This is the one and only aviary in the world where birds are taken care in a divine place which is filled with different kind of vibrations like continuous soothing music all around, Vedic Chanting every day and holy vibrations from a person like Swamiji. No wonder a positive energy flows into them and make them very human friendly. Shukavana a place where every bird wants to Fly...
The great collection of sun conures is really amazing. Super aviary, Shuka Vana is. It must have taken them a long time to collect these 1000 plus birds from so many different species
The dietary requirements of parrots differs from bird to bird. Even different types of Macaws have different food patterns. A Hyacinth Macaw eats mostly grains and nuts, while a Blue throat ed Macaw eats mostly fruits. Designing such a wonderful place keeping in mind the requirements of each type of bird reflects the true love and compassion in the entire effort.
We are amazed by the discipline of these parrots, how well they stay seated and also during feeding. Datta, our toddler loves watching this video regularly and dancing parrots is his favorite one.
I watched many parrots' videos on youtube, but first time came across a video in which parrots of sooooooooooo many species in huge number are there. Hats off to our Dear Appaji!!! Thanks a lot for this wonderful video.
The love and guidance that Sri Ganapaty Sachchidananda Swamiji's gives to these birds is truly an amazing place for birds to live. He is very particular about their diet, he said that they should be fed 4 times a day, they must always have clean water, exercise and sunlight to be healthy.
If you are a bird lover and you look at this video you will be really amazed with all the beautiful species of parrots, their beautiful colours, their personalities and how well train they are. This is really an amazing video and we must say thank you to His Holiness Dr. Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji for such a building such a wonderful bird aviary.
Heard a lot about this organization from my friends, they visited this place, had a wonderful experience, kids also loved it. they do a tremendous job. Waiting to go and see the birds.

Human civilization is incomplete without birds. Very happy to see such beautiful parrots in this free flight aviary.

I am so happy to see these birds safe in India.
I have a parrot at home. A yellow napped amazon. When I saw so many amazons in Shuka Vana, I was so thrilled. These are wonderful beings. Swamiji’s love for these birds is simply superb! His Holiness is out of this world, indeed!
Exotic birds and beautiful music with bird sounds! Relaxing indeed!
Great to see so much caring for birds, love it !!!
Totally awe stuck with their discipline, and intelligence.
oh my god...this is bird lover's heaven. so much cute and fluffy birds, i need to go there and check it out
Jaya guru datta, the efforts that were Putin to take care of these birds is incredible. Sri guru datta.
Kudus to the entire team.
Thank you datta peetham for amazing and beautiful shukavana besides bonsai and museum
Shuka Vana like the Mysore Ashram is an oasis of tranquility. A literal collection and fusion of man and nature. Beautiful beyond description!
i like the feeding of the birds, they are holding fresh fruit and all the birds so beautifully come to get there food. It must be so nice to feed the birds, a bonding will develop.
waw these bird are amazing they have me captivated , hypnotized by all of their bright and vast colours they are so wonderful and peaceful
Words are not enough to describe, the grace, discipline, purity, devotion and unconditional love these pure souls in the form of birds display in this most amazing Aviary built in Mysore Datta Peetham Ashrama !
This video shows the extensive compassion and love showered on the parrots!
Birds are sweet their sing ever day. Their does make me feel happy every morning and every day. Color does make you think of rainbow.
Wonderful aviary! I"m moved after watching this video! Such gentle and utmost care given to birds in Shuka Vana.....
Jaya Guru Datta Padma Gosala ! Thank you for the wonderful narration.
shuka vana is an amazing place for birds its definitely a birds paradise and they deserve it birds are some of the most beautiful and caring animals on the planet and we are lucky to have such creatures roaming our sky's and what swamiji is doing to preserve the well being of these vast creatures is magical and magnificent
Excellent video. I cried, I laughed and I wish I lived here. Please share with all the bird lovers!!
Shukavana is such a beautiful place! I hope to visit it sometime soon! I was awestruck seeing the colorful birds. Shukavana is truly a gift that will benefit the world.
shuka vana is wonderful its great to see these birds flying freely in such an amazing and peaceful facility .
You can tell these parrots love this man to bit's, I wish my White Fronted Amazon loved me as mush as your birds.
Thank you very much.i sure do enjoy this.
What an amazing rehabilitation center for birds. Here you can see over 300 different species of birds and bright colours of the rainbow. Very intelligent birds, they all have different personalities, some are talkative, some are quiet, some like to dance and some even chant mantras. Isn't this truly amazing.
The birds are so happy at Shuka Vana they have started to dance!
A great place to visit and enjoy the peace and love!
I felt a lot of love for the birds... and the music is simply wonderful and absolutely unique. Sri Swamiji is really amazing!
Parrots are more loyal than human beings, more disciplined, more self-controlled, certainly more colorful, and jovial. Jai Shuka Vana.
JAIGURUDATTA LIKE VERY MUCH
There is no other place in the world like Shuka Vana. Appaji's love and dedication to these birds is wonderful. The patience he portrays in teaching these birds to talk can be compared to a mother teaching her child.
Appaji’s influence upon me has truly broadened my outlook towards my surroundings. Thank you Appaji! Thank you Shuka vana!
it is truly a wonderful sight to watch the birds being fed in the shuka vana program and the way they break dance its truly amazing
Birds bring cheer and sings with love. They lighten ones spirit and makes you forget all your stress. The facility is spacious and clean.
The love and guidance that Sri Ganapaty Sachchidananda Swamiji's gives to these birds is truly an amazing place for birds to live. He is very particular about their diet, he said that they should be fed 4 times a day, they must always have clean water, exercise and sunlight to be healthy.
A parrot is eternally blissful and free spirit can never be confined. Seeing the birds fly, we all desire to fly.
very true
so beautiful/so caring 😢💕💕💕💕💕💕
If you are a bird lover and you look at this video you will be really amazed with all the beautiful species of parrots, their beautiful colours, their personalities and how well train they are. This is really an amazing video and we must say thank you to His Holiness Dr. Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji for such a building such a wonderful bird aviary.
