- RSS Tempe monthly pool function/monthly IST. An IST is something that every recruit has to pass prior to recruit training. The Initial Strength Test includes pull-ups, a 1.5 mile run, and crunches for 2 minutes. Address of Marine Corps Recruiting Sub-Station Tempe is: 1350 E Broadway, Suite 105.
Tempe, AZ 8528. Their phone number is (480)-921-7762. - กีฬา
Shout out to the girl with 91 lifts.
My recruiters whisper louder than these poolees
Lol my parents yell at me louder than these poolees
I shipped out from this recruiting station back in 2002. We had such a small group of poolee's back then compared to this. Running and doing all sorts of conditioning exercises in the Arizona sun definitely was tough yet enjoyable at the same time.
Huge props for that girl doing 90 lifts those are very hard if you don’t have technique
She has technique so ... wasnt very hard for her .
Whats the technique tho? I got IST tomorrow's
@@yamashitaaki6435 how'd it go bro
@@yamashitaaki6435 yeah how'd it go?
When my recruiting office has like 6 poolees
Mine has 3
@@simplegaming84 Can a guy have long hair as a poolee. I'm thinking about becoming a poolee but I have pretty long hair for a dude.
Benjamin Lư yes, you can have long hair but I’m not sure if this is only my recruiting
office but you can’t have colors in it.
Benjamin Lư depends on the station but you are gonna lose it when you get to basic
Benjamin Lư it depends on the station, my recruiter always wanted fresh haircuts and shaves
I love this video and I also live in Phoenix Arizona and I’m excited to see what the future has for me and becoming a Marine!💪🏼
I ship out in 8 days to MCRD San Diego. Motivated, nervous, scared, excited, and a whole lot of emotions. DEP definitely helped me a lot in preparation.
How was it? Im leaving in a couple days. Any tips?
@@batmayne2935 I thought DEP prepared me mentally and physically. The first week was full of chaos. But it'll get better once you hit phase 2. Just don't give up no matter what. Mentally, physically as well as emotionally. Never give up. It'll get better. Take it one day at a time if you have to. Also a lot of people got dropped due to stress fracture. Swim qualification was scary but if you do what they tell you, you should be good. Don't listen to any marines that tells you about phase 3. They're just trying to mentally mess with you. It's not that scary once you're in phase 3. Receiving week first few days you won't get to sleep. No one is really mentally prepared, but you'll be fine as long as you dont have the give up mentality.
@@johnyang6969 heard you sir.
@3:45 universal sign of poolee who cant run but tells everyone he can run 7min miles
That's a Marine. Poolee's aren't allowed to wear the Green PT Silkies, and few poolee's earn the Black "Pain is Weakness leaving the body" shirt.
That is a poolee
Thats a marine he’s wearing green shorts
There talking about the kid that threw his hands up 🤦♂️
@@TrooperEli671I think those ones are the ones who's gone to MEPS and gone back home without swearing in. I'm a Poolee and have the other shirt so correct me if I'm wrong.
Just did my first poolee function today, we didn’t lift ammo cans but we had a supply run. It was pretty fun tbh
Enjoy while it lasts man
Oh. My. God.
I was at the SAME RSS from April 2017-May 2017. I still recognize a lot of the poolees and a couple of the recruiters. This is CRAZY.
Damn that’s a quick turn around im going to have to wait at least 8 months before I can be sent to boot camp
I stood out during these event's sadly, being older ( I was 30 when I enlisted) but motivated and being to used to being in wrestling shape these were a breeze, the recruiters singled me out and due to my ego back then I was game to take it. Got the shit smoked out me a few times, the others ran a mile or two they were making me run 5+. Taught me to try, but not stand out in boot camp. These ended up teaching me a lot, they are good programs. I hope all these aspiring Marines made the cut in Boot Camp and earned their EGA's
I freakin go here! So awesome! I really enjoyed this video, just saw one of these people on here go to boot camp after she had been injured and recovered. Her warrior spirit kept her in the dep for another year I think. Now she is in Boot camp and probably kicking butt and taking names. Also Staff Sargeant Haas is missed at the office but the staff Sargeant who took his place is a great man with awesome character. Staff Sargeant Wilson has caused RSS Tempe to be louder and more motivated I have to say, I love when we chug the water and what we scream before we drink, PAIN HATE DISCONTENT KILL KILL KILL, lol. I have had many great memories from my time in the DEP, I have been shown I can and will do what I believed I could not. I do succeed, I do achieve, I am will serve my country and fight for those who cannot. I will defend the constitution and the weak, I will fight to end the evil in this world, and raise a son to fight the next group of evil individuals that rise up. God bless America, OORAH.
you spelt sergeant wrong like 9x lol
Lol that's the shit I low-key don't like In the dep program a bunch of people that are low key cringey asl with the hate kill kill kill shit when they haven't done shit except be a goodey goodey there whole life .
The motivation is real with RSS Tempe. Good shit guys
I hate doing the IST (I'm also in the DEPS program.) I struggle so much with pull-ups especially, props to all of yall 👏 especially waking up that early. Thankfully we don't have to wake up super early for my IST days
look just do pushups and run everyday then when you can do pullups do it everyday it's really not that hard and if you can't do that then you shouldn't join .
@@chillbill1687 perfect timing actually, lmao. I just graduated Bootcamp today but thanks for the advice anyways!
@@idrinkbleach_6150 cool lol looks like you were able to do pushups and run everyday . I'm going to bootcamp soon if you could go back in time and tell ur self something what would it be .
@@chillbill1687 listen to your drill instructors, move fast, and always have a combat mindset. At the beginning of training I lacked a lot and was a little lazy with how I moved. Don't make the same mistake, apply all of your knowledge you learn into training and you'll be fine! Also, do Ammo can lifts whenever you can
Haha that instructor is hilarious
A few IST's ago they made us do the crunches on a field full of stinging nettle, rather than on dirt like 100 yards away. Pretty much everyone saw their crunches go down by like 30 that day...
I was guide for my RSS, and we had a much smaller group of individuals to work with, but because of that we all had to stay on our top game. Towards the end of my DEP I had gone from 0 pullups to 15, a 10:00 mile to sub 8:00, and a 2:30 plank to around 6:00. I still talk with those guys in the pool, good fucking times.
I shipped out from RS phoenix five years ago. I joined the Navy after my for your active duty contract and it was the biggest mistake I ever made. I wish I could do the Marines again. I’m currently getting my masters but I’m in the process of getting back in shape for OCS.
that first pull up guy needs to get a wider grip
Lmao

Lucky you have a drill instructor, I don’t have one at mine
We never get warmups for our IST 😔
Awesome!! 💪💪
that poolees @ 2:08 did his pull-ups wrong. you are supposed to come to a dead arm hang and wait for the person counting to say begin and then you also are supposed to go all the way down. which he did none none of these things.
Tboy221 lol my thoughts exactly. he got zero pullups
Djp they make you do it however you can
@@hammer1dwn769 you are suppose to do it the right way no matter what, even if you cant/can barely get one.
Ahhhhhhh I love Starset. What a pleasant surprise!!
The ammo can lifts sucked .
Dude with the bandana is a fucking beast
Im attending my first poolee function this weekend, and HOO boiii. Not ready for this. XDD
I’m only 15 but after two years of college I’m going to join the marines and I just want to see how I can train myself and see what I am getting into

Ok so I’ve got a horror story about this we had a ist the week before then next week get a group text pool function this Saturday so we go there and officers for the entire region and jurisdiction of meps is their I can say I failed pull-ups/push-ups, crunches, but for the first time I passed the run. With a time of 12:26. So here’s some inspiration everyone will pass the toughest event sooner or later just a mater of time
Support from Chandler Marines RSS
I have ist this Saturday 😅
Idk I’m going to MEPS tommorow and I’m still in high school and I’m 18 I can run I got good endurance but strength shouldn’t need much work 🤦🏼♂️😂
I can’t wait to leave. I’m just waiting for a waiver for my astigmatism to come back and then I’m good to swear. I’ve been going to Poole functions and they are intense and fun 😂
i dont think the music is loud enough i can still hear their voices
I'm doing this tomorrow...
Im a poole as well and this is just for comparison who's the strongest and fasters poole you guys have
notedeath04 at 5:14 is the strongest and fastest poolee
I am now a poolee in North Carolina. What to expect in my first Poolee Function?
Anyone remember the Red Poolee Shirt ?
Does it matter in boot camp if you say either "this recruits # general order is..." Or if you say "Sir the # general order is...."
Austin Alexander yes. they tell you when you get off the bus.
how long are you in the DEP for? do you have to pass the IST to be sent to bootcamp?
You cannot ship out to bootcamp if you do not pass the ist
young skywalker yes you do! I've been in the DEP for awhile. I was in the DEP program my senior year of high school, picked up the NROTC scholarship and was released from DEP the first time. I went to ASU for a year as a Marine Option scholarship student then decided to enlist again in May. I still want to go officer in the future I just want enlisted experience first, it's a lot different on both sides and I want to experience both (as much as enlisted life might suck for the first few years). I have about 2 1/2 years left of school, in which case I plan on taking classes during my enlistment then applying for the ECP program to go straight to OCS.
Savannah Cunningham I'm trying to do something similar but I want to be a Warrant officer
You shouldn't have thrown that scholarship away! And enlisted life doesn't suck! Who told you that?!
No you don’t lmao
Im gonna have this…
Ай да молодцы. "Весёлые старты" у нас детей - это называлось при СССР.
Those were chinups.
5:45 FUCK YEAH, ARTY GANG
With me being only 13,and already planning on joining the Marines,do you have any fitness points that could help me with pull-ups/arm hangs and crunches? Tysm if you reply!
HellishGaming do them. thats how you get better.
Yeah just do as many as often as you can, that's my way of getting better. I ordered a Gold's Gym pull up bar from Walmart
I mean 2 months ago I could only do like 3 pushups and I was sore as hell for days. Now that I’m enlisted and in DEP waiting for my ship date, I can do a 8 of sets of 20, just do 5 sets of whatever you can and every week increase the number of reps by a reasonable number. If you can only do 3 in a row, do 5 sets of 3 with an hour in between to recover because not everyone is Superman. That’s how I got better.
First ist tomorrow and I leave to mcrd on Jan 7th
You don't have to shout, I can hear you just fine.
OORAH!!
Did you ship date get pushed back again? I'm shipping out in a week , sooo excited :)
DriaDreamsOf... Good luck girl!! I'm rooting for you, yes my date got pushed again but I'm leaving for sure in January and I'll be a backup until then.
Me to mines got pushed back to next week monday!
Savannah Cunningham Mine already got pushed back but just by a week hoping it doesn't get pushed again. Good Luck maybe you'll be able to leave sooner
ra That's when I leave too
I'm shipping out from Ny we'll probably see each other and not even realize it lol good luck!
Is That You John Wayne?
Is This Me?
Who said that? WHO THE FUCK SAID THAT?
Hey savanna do u know a Taylor something mattox she is a marine who got married I don't know where she is stationed at but I know her mos is working with weapons. Or a Doug loveless
this is why i went thru NROTC in college and got commissioned. besides, they dont let enlisted people fly...and thats the only thing i ever wanted to do
No way, I’m a Poole at RSS tempe right now, lol
so do you go to meps before dep?
Spot the guy with the Nappoleon Complex.
damn i cant even do one pull up
Marinus-Solidus Invictus I would hope so consider one is special forces and the other is a military branch
I called one of them dude at my pool function
Rest in piece.

23 pull ups, 119 crunches, 9:46 mile and a half, I'm going in to senior year.
your drill instructor isnt going to be impressed.
james miller what are your scores then?
Hell yeah man
REaP RIpRapter Doesn’t matter what his scores are, your drill instructors still won’t be impressed.
@@Justin_GFM I'm going Army anyway😂
Those aren’t pull ups by the way those are called chin ups
Do you have to go be in college or high school to do the delayed entry program? Because you know I graduated😕
I’m pretty sure it’s required for all poolees to do DEP before going to boot camp. If you can’t pass the IST beforehand then you aren’t allowed to go.
No. I graduated high school 3 years ago and now am filling out the paperwork to be in the DEP. go for it!!
No, DEP is just the time between your date of enlightenment and boot camp. Everyone spends time in the DEP before shipping out.
What is this music
Can you still join the marine corps if you don't know how to swim ??? And will they teach you how so you can pass the swim qual
I dont kno how to swim either and i get shipped to boot in July

I'm 25 and gonna turn 26 next month.....i REALLY wanna join but i feel kinda old as compared to High Schoolers who go at age of 17
Jarhead what if I'm a bad runner... That's really the only thing I'm worried about
Jensonsational Bro, there was a 28 year old at MEPS with me that both qualified and completed the physical requirements alongside 17 year olds. You'll be fine.
there was a 30 year old when I went to meps and he passed.
Bro tell you the truth the average age is 22-25 in boot camp. It’s not that many 17 year olds. My platoon we were all 21-25 year olds. We had two 27 year olds.
Dont he afraid to go when Chesty Puller was asked "What do you think of the new Marine breed?" He simply replied "Hell, old breed, new breed, doesnt matter as long as its the Marine breed"
Man this would be so much better if there was no background music just pure shoutings
I never understood the screaming part. Not sure who's going to be screaming in a firefight in a taliban city
Have you heard a gunshot before?
