Why I leased a Lucid Air and YOU should too!

- Today let's examine my new Lucid Air Touring! I just leased this 2024 Lucid Air in the stealth package because Lucid has some incredible deals going on right now, and they add to what is undoubtedly a really well built EV. I'll explain 2 key things today: 1, why is nobody buying Lucid? And 2, why you absolutely should.
If you do plan to buy or lease a Lucid, you can use my referral code to receive up to $1250 vehicle discount or rebate! lucidmotors.com/configure?ref...
Man what a good looking ev. Such a shame no one is buying it
Yea because it’s a bit pricey, but there is a lot in CA.
@@Zergcerebrates And the company will probably go out of business
The Saudi Government owns 60% of Lucid... Now way they'd let it go out of business @@strawdemindset
I MUCH prefer Lucid being the lead EV manufacterer than Tesla, It's unapologetically luxury, it might cost more than most tesla models but it's definitely WORTH more than most Tesla Models.
@strawdemindset you will go broke first before Lucid lmao
Got a Pure for $600 a month with $1600 out of pocket + $1000 credit towards a home charger which is one of the best in the market
Dang! Very good deal
@@themiddlelanelm They even threw in some apparel and gave me $500 towards all weather floor mats and covers / protectors for the Frunk and Trunk - the wall charger charges about 40 miles per hour on a 50 AMP double pole breaker. My electrician recommended to not do the 80 AMP one. Also - free charging on Electrify America for the life of the lease... if you got a 2023 it should be free charging as well...

$800 a month to “lease” a car is crazy 😂
That’s what I was thinking… I thought he was going to say $500 a month at most
thats the price for BMW , MErcedes, Audi
it’s a bargain for that car!
800/mo lease for a 100k car is a steal
@@coreylawson332 ridiculous! Kia and Hyundai are doing $200 lease payments for their cars even the EV69 which is $60k. $500-$600 for this high end car is understandable but $800 is not at all
I leased one and it is great. 18 months lease was less than a 36 mth lease. Software is a bit underwhelming, but it is a very good car. My range is 514 rated and i get 475 easily.
I look forward to buying one in a few years, second hand with massive depreciation
they have already depreciated nearly 50%
@@joshuamartinez970 Not the Pure trims. The Touring ones have seen huge price reductions.
I never buy second hand, doesn’t feel as special….
@@vickykennel7414 I've discovered that a smaller car payment is the gift that keeps on giving. The novelty of a new car frequently wears off before those payments top arriving.

I've owned my Air GT since November 2022, absolutely love the car. Never had a major issue. Little stuff was addressed by OTA updates. I think most people are a sheep, they will do what they think the herd is doing. Thus, trucks and SuVs. While Porsche and Mercedes have already made a name for themselves, Lucid is too new. People want to be sure they are staying with the crowd's acceptance. Congrats on your new Lucid.
People are hesitant about lucid because they don't know if the company will be around in 5 or 10 years. Imagine can't servicing it or having no replacement parts if they go bankrupt.
Definitely don’t buy it, get it as a lease and get rid of it in a two years lol
I like the fact that you have more options than Tesla. Makes the car more personal.
I'm a mechanical engineering student who is looking to work with electric vehicles. Over the summer I'll be working with BMW with their electric vehicles. Lucid represents a major problem with many of the EVs available today. No one can afford it. The people who like myself who want to drive in the EV and experience vehicles like the lucid and polstar 2 can't afford it, and The people who can afford it typically don't want an EV as they are usually older and prefer a gas powered vehicle. Mainly the price is the thing that's keeping everybody away. However, after my internship with BMW, I plan to work with lucid through their summer internship. I hope to be a part of the change in this industry that can help bring this price down. I love what lucid is doing with the gravity, I'm so excited to hop on that.
Millions of DINKS can afford a Lucid. Dual Income No Kids is DINK. Find a good partner and invest in the best electric car available.
Tesla intern here , good job
@theoloplayer9468 congratulations on your internship. I'm interning with BMW this summer, but I'm always going to apply to Tesla when I can. I'll be 100% honest, Tesla is not my favorite company, however I cannot deny that their software is good. If Lucid can bring their price down though, I think people would prefer them over Tesla's other than the people who have like a cult following for it lol
@@theoloplayer9468 didnt they cancel internships?
It will require solid state battery for costs to come down
Your Lucid Looks freaking Amazing
Nice Lucid, a few months ago I saw an hour long documentary on Lucid and was extremely impressed I hope the sell more of these wonderful EVs.
I did a build for the Lucid Air Touring and it came in substantially more than I car I chose over it - the BMW i5 M60. The Lucid had better range, more storage, and a beautiful interior. But, the BMW won in technology, the hands free driving at 85mph, the Bowers & Wilkins sound system, seating position, and just an overall better driving experience. Car Play is seamlessly integrated into BMW’s iDrive. The navigation in the heads up display works with the native app or Apple Maps. The digital key always works. They have used the same software in their ICE cars, so it’s well tested.
I came to the same conclusion...and no one whacks their heads getting in and out of the BMW, unlike the Lucid!
So, I’m in the uk and we don’t get these, but a couple of thoughts:
1. Lucid will probably be doing pretty well if they can get the lucid gravity out since everyone wants SUVs now
2. They should definitely make a lucid air wagon, I see more taycan wagons than regular taycans here in the uk.
Definitely think Lucid has a future. I checked out their dealership in NYC. I cant wait to see how their SUV will be like. Its their first attempt but I'm just waiting for a couple versions for me to get one. I think once the EV charging eco-system is increased all over the country is when people will buy EV's. Even Rivian having issues.
They have a 2 door coupe in the works. Looks amazing..
I have owned my lucid air base model, for just over 7 months now, I would like to say it’s the best car I have ever owned, lucid will be everyone’s favourite car in near future, it’s totally worth for the money 💯
I own a Lucid. Went from a 2022 S580 to Lucid. Best car I have ever owned. And I own a few cars, inclined a Ferrari. I get compliments all the time. I live in LA. Also I have the same issues, updates will fix it hopefully soon. Already contacted customer service, which they are phenomenal. Also the stereo sucks and are very low. I have the fully loaded one. Also no massage which makes zero sense for a $100k car.
When you just showed all these cars side by side the Lucid definitely looks the best. It's just so organic looking. So smooth and friendly. It doesn't want to be sporty. It's silky smooth and soft. All attributes of comfort.
Nice. I'm currently leasing an AWD Pure and I love it. The lease deals make them a great deal and they are an incredible car. Pull up in one of these, and not only do heads turn, but people walk up to you to tell you how awesome your car is and start asking questions about it. I get waives and thumbs up by other drivers all the time.
The Play Stop thing is not a Bug. You just have to choose whether you are playing through Bluetooth directly or through Apple CarPlay. Just go to the bluetooth section and it will detect it.
Ii didnt know you had another channel Luke, congrats man 🙏🏼
I just picked mine up this week. Also got a Touring, a bit more options…and $5000 off for buying a car in stock. Eighteen month lease was also the kicker for me. Great review and agree with you on the good points and where it needs to improve.
Dang 2024 has us all fkd up. Now we're think 800 a m9nth is a steal?
As a Lucid stockholder, I enjoyed your video. Love to hear an update after six months of ownership.
I stocks in Lucid also. I have faith in Lucid!!
I have been watching you for many years on the apple product channel. I can't believe you are doing cars as well. Great job. Keep grinding!!!
I believe there is a good future behind this company ,it is matter of time 🔥
I watch your other tech channel , big fan! I just found out that you are a car guy and computer geek like me! I hope you put some more content out on the car side!
This is the first good Lucid Spec I’ve seen and I think you’ve won me over with it
Luke, I didn’t even know this channel existed or that you moved to LA. 😅 Great pick up! I have a friend who just leased a Touring, too, and he loves it. Already took it on a 1200 mile road trip and said it was flawless and even had no issues with EA 😮. The engineering in these cars is really incredible and more people need to check them out. I hope the upcoming Gravity is a huge hit for them.
I rarely see this vehicle out cause of the price tag being too high and it’s a really beautiful car for sure
Beautiful car! It’s actually luxurious, too. I’d love to have one. I truly don’t understand the fascination with driving cheapo Tesla vans!
Do you still have the 09 cayman? I got one recently a 09 base one and have been catching up with your maintenance videos. Awesome by the way. Great content..
Great video!
What is tue main camera you are using ? Looks stunning!!
what was your down payment, how many miles can you drive a year, and what's your total monthly including insurance?
The sweater, pants, shoes and chain..luke is looking like goodfella in training haha
Ok I was never the biggest fan of the look of the Air but it looks freaking sick blacked out and stealthy! And that interior is ridiculously nice.
what is this color? it looks amazing? grey stealth?
Love Lucid styling, congratulations. Going by what EVs are going now a days, $850 is average. I have seen Merc EQS SUV 580 (2023) for as low as $710 recently in SoCal.
I leased a lucid grand touring and got a sick deal. Only $444 a month with 3k down 18months. It came out to be cheaper than a touring, no idea why they let that one go for so little but I snatched it up quick. Some quirks about the car that I don’t like but overall I like the car and is a great deal at that price
The configuration tool is not an issue with the car. It's an issue with the website. No lane keep is also not an issue with the car. It's just an option that is not available for the car you chose. The Lucid Air is the best electric vehicle on the planet by far.
The Lucid Air is a sleek car. Congrats!
Does Lucid plan on making a lower HP version of the sapphire because that’s the one I really like but 1,000 plus HP is way to much for me to getting behind the wheel of
Love the stealth model for these cars
Nice and honest review
Glad you liked it!

Better NVH, better suspension tuning, better powertrain, better materials, yet not worth the $20k over the Model S? Yeah okay, lol.
Lucid is by far the most legit EV. They just had the worst luck launching during a supply chain shutdown with covid
How much are you paying for insurance?
It’s weird that people aren’t buying them in other places. In Dallas, I see them all over the place. I see at least one daily.
It has a modern day ford probe look to it. The EV market has definitely cooled off. We had a good number of lease return and trade-in Etrons that had to get wholesaled because their value had tanked.
Best looking EV 100%
How much fid you put fown?
Why doesn’t anyone want one? Well, if you’re 6’2” or taller, getting in and out without hitting your head isn’t a major problem. A few of us tall guys were just talking about this at Cars & Coffee yesterday in Great Falls, VA.
Such a dream of a car. CarPlay issues on Audi as well.
Did Luke sell off those old porsche cars when he moved and upgrade to this?
$850 to lease is not a good deal.
Not bad when his car is priced at $95k
How so Men ? I pay 800 $ for Acura RDX here in Canada and it is slower and Avery week Gas fill is 80$ here in Ontario . Lucid is the Future . Im getting the Pure in Blue soon i hope ! No 150 $ Bucks oil Changes to anymore !

Taycan hands down best looking, but Lucid is most impressive technology wise
Best looking, Porsche !

Okay, but how much do you pay for insurance on top of that $850/month? 🤔
I test drove the Air Touring and the car is incredible, it has the speed and handling of a Porsche and the comfort and quality of a Benz
Whats the warranty for lucid
Since I can qualify for $15000 in incentives, including the 7500 rebate, that has gotten me into getting a refreshed Model 3 lease for $231 per month for 36 months. Teslas seem like a mess to own, even though they have improved but I was quite pleased with the steering wheel being just like my logitech sim wheel, the car isn't too big or too small, and negligible maintenance. I might actually get one, OR hopefully spend $34K on a 2022 Maserati and hope it doesn't depreciate 20% after a year. OR a sensible 21' 540i or E350
Maseratis are glorified Fiat's - don't buy one - they are crap cars...
@@aviadstark6215 I have been in the Ghiblis, Quattroporte and Levante and every year I get in one, they’ve improved and their new lineup with the MC20, Grecale, GT is stunningly great. Since they have been making the Ghibli from 2013 and refined all the bad stuff, the massive depreciation and it being relatively new makes it an interesting proposition.
$231 for a monthly lease on a Tesla? Are you putting anything down?
@@kwsrchoudhury The formula is this: ((307 * 35)+(5,006)-(7500))/36. The $5006 is the due at signing which includes the first monthly payment and downpayment. The 7500 is the Oregon Charge Ahead Rebate I qualify for. That figure also include s the federal tax credit of 7500.
Great deal. Unfortunately Lucid is only available in very few European countries (and not in mine).
Best looking (IMO)… almost exactly as pictured with BMW & Porsche basically a tie (sexy vs classy)

My 4 year old saw a Lucid and and a Model S - he thought the lucid looked better.

The Lucid is the best looking.
Nice car 👍
Air GT owner, Their sound system (even the 21 speaker version) leaves much to be desired. No bass response, and the speaker "buzz". Your speaker is not blown, it means the factory took a short cut when installing the speaker. My door speakers were the same way, and it too me and the tech tearing the front door assembly completely apart to find that the factory used electical tape on a hole that they should have used "metal tape" on. Once the metal tape was put into position, blown sound disappeared. But still very little bass response. :( Lane keeping, I keep it turned off all the time, it is constantly correcting you durng normal driving and it gets SO annoying. Apple Car play complaint....who cares, not at all important in the grand scheme of things. The connectivity of your carplay to the car is a software issue, mainly because the OS of the car is Android based, and that interfacing with IOS....well problems a-plenty. :(
Backseat leg room, I agree with you here, I'm 6'9" and I have plenty of leg room behind my driving position. The super soft leather in the back really makes me wish it was in the front too, but I understand the need for durability in the front. However, Range is King for me, and I will gladly have my larger capacity battery over the 2 times I have had passengers in the back over the past year and a quarter. Range for me has consistantly been 470 miles on the 21" wheels. There are times on a full charge I will get 465 miles of range, but that can easily be made up with good driving. Stop being a leadfoot and your range will get better. Doing a review on the range and jumping on it all the time isn't a fair review, and then whining about the range later wishing it was more.....SMH.
Overall I'm glad you are happy with your lease, and remember, you already know you are fast, you don't have to prove it! Range is King!
If you have Surreal Sound Pro subscription on your vehicle and it sounds like that, its a problem and you need to visit a service center. Otherwise, the base speakers sound like crap, I know because I've test driven plenty to do inspections on and Surreal Sound is a must for the best listening experience.
I want one bad. Not in a position to get one just yet.
I think people want smaller SUVs and crossovers like what Rivian just launched with the R2 and R3s.
These cars look great. It’s still horrible to lease and I cannot imagine how expensive insurance is. Not sure how you’re getting a total of $850/mo. Can you give a breakdown?
Problem Lucid has is, they are not Tesla. Lacking Cameras in the $90k version is part of it.
It really comes down to EVs being a Tesla or not being a Tesla.. They are different categories.
For the same money you can lease a Model S (not plaid).
Lucid sold more cars then Mercedes eqe, eqs,, Taycan last quarter. Best EV sedan out there!
daddy luke is back
Lucid's biggest problem is finding their market, because nobody REALLY wants a full sized sedan. If you're filthy rich and looking for your 3rd or 4th car... you're looking for something special, nostalgic and/or with a car with a very specific use case like a convertible sports coupe or maybe a Mercedes G-wagon. Something impractical. On the other hand, If you're like most of us and this car is going to be your daily driver, then you need to find one car that can do everything well. It has to have flexibility and utility, be large enough to be comfortable, but not so big that it's not "sporty." To most Americans, THAT car is the SUV. While the Lucid Air could potentially be the EV version of that "everything" car for most people, It's still packaged as a sedan, like Grampy used to drive before he hit that parked car and they took his license away.
I took a good look at Lucid, but ended up going with a 2024 Rivian R1S because I was coming from a mid-size SUV (a lifted, Toyota 4Runner with 3rd-row seats) and didn't want to lose or downgrade any of the features and functionality I had in my Toyota when making the switch to electric. R1S absolutely did not disappoint. 3 rows of seats, tons of interior space and storage, large front trunk, 316mi range, Quad motors, 835hp, up to 15" ground clearance in off-road drive modes, 0-60 in 3.2 seconds. It's a $95k+ SUV for under 600 a month. I've been looking to get in to an EV for the past five years, so for me having 3 kids and coming from 4Runner, it seemed like the right move for us.
A lot of people look at Lucid or Rivian's stock prices and say that they won't survive, but at the same time Tesla was in the red from 2008 to 2020 before they had their first profitable year and today they have the #1 selling car in the world. I don't believe that the majority of the American public has driven EVs or is aware of the incredible step up in performance that switching to electric delivers along with having a "full tank" every morning by cheaply charging at home. I don't think that most people "get" what it takes for new startup companies to design, build and mass produce vehicles that need to outperform everything being offered by huge, legacy car companies that have had a 100 year head start. I bet that if Ford had brought the Lucid Air to market as the all new electric Taurus, you'd be reading headlines about how the American sedan is back and how the BMW M series and Mercedes AMG sport sedans have finally met their match. It's going to be hard to change peoples preconceptions until they've actually driven one for themselves. I knew after day one, that there was no going back.
How much do you have to put down in order to get that “$800/mo”?
$800 (specifically $816) is the effective monthly payment, so including down payment, monthly, tax, documentation fees etc that are due at signing
What’s the down payment
What people are spending on car leases right now blows my mind I’ll just stick with my 2015 until absolutely necessary. Car company’s have lost their minds…
Bluetooth issue might be related to IOS.
My mercedes also doesn’t go smooth with my 15pro max.
All is fine when i use my Oneplus11…
they ask a lot for an EV that has the same range as a tesla, imo lucid cars arent available to everyone but to the people that can afford to have or own one, its a nice car.
Prob will look into a used one w more features
Lucid got saved by the Saudi government, they gonna get huge support.

I was one week before hahaha
Ahh lool great timing to buy, n great video too! Was waiting for someone to cover this
The taycan is way better looking... depending on the color, the Lucids look bad.... I saw a black one that looked like a hearse.. Also, putting stores in malls where they show them at $140.000 is a no no, especially when in the same mall you can find a 911 for 110.000 or an Audi E tron GT for $70.0000.. and I agree with the configurator being a mess
He starts the video off by putting "lease and my" in the same sentence 😁
It's the name
I have not seen a single owner confirming anywhere close of mile range what they are mentioning in the website
I agree, this is a steal. Lucid is losing $150k per car. Their loss is your gain!
I’d rather a Porsche or more recently the lotus emaya if I were to go EV but I would rank lucid above Tesla. You can however get a Tesla model S for under 30k, can’t yet with the other cars.
The fact is, it’s not the cheapest thing, but it’s the best car you can buy, truck goes to rivian. With that being said 10k plus a year for a car is crazy. At least for the average person.
Gonna be a great 50k car to buy in a year.
