UCI alum here, i can honestly say it was the best years of my life, the first year was rough but after that i fell in love with the school and i was so happy and in my heart it’s the best school in the world
Great video! As a UCI Alumni you hit all the cons - the heat is no joke! That was always my frustration, as well. Especially having to walk from class to class.
Thanks Garrett, I like what you're doing on your channel as well! If you need help with any sort of filming / editing, or even thumbnail design / TH-cam strategy, shoot me an email at nowehofficial@gmail.com!
@@noahtherockstar really im not sure, my (only) passion in life is filmmaking, and so my dream job would be a director for a movie. im not too sure if this is the path i want to go, as its not a stable income at all, and thats kind of important to me. but so is having a job i love so overall im not too sure yet, if i did go to college it would be away from my home, thats for sure
@@cheesi4632 I feel that -- balancing your passion with the stability of a job is something i struggle with as well... I can see myself doing youtube full time but I know that it isn't guaranteed and I want to provide support to my parents, not just myself but chase your dream and be a filmmaker!! I know you can do it and that would be sickkkk
So you did mention that when professors mention things once they expect you to know it, do they post the learning material online or in an application, and if you go to office hours does that typically help?
just applied and got lucky honestly... i'd recommend to apply for housing AND a job at housing to increase your chances to get a place here at UCI hahah
Loved watching your video, thanks! I was there from 74-78 and loved seeing it all again with this. Wow..that park really is beautiful; I loved it as you do. My Jr and Sr years I lived on the peninsula and used the OC bus to get everywhere, had no car. I looked it up and saw that the student pass still cheap, $46/year. Do you know anyone who uses it? Have a great time before graduation 😊
wow, i'm so glad you stumbled across my video! UCI has been an absolute blast for me so far and I've really been enjoying my time here. my girlfriend lives off campus and has a car, but her roommates don't and they use the OC bus to get around too. I also don't have a car so she is my dedicated personal uber hahah
@@noahtherockstar thanks Noah, that’s nice to know that students still use the OC buses. So great that you get to experience both on and off campus living! Have fun and all the best ❤️
you get guaranteed housing so you chillin, just make sure you apply on time. ACC is the nicest in my opinion, but AV has a better community where you can make friends (since it has a common room). i'd recommend AV your 3rd year -> ACC your 4th year (1. plaza verde, 2. camino, 3. norte, those are the best ACCs in order). hope this helps :P
I got into UCI today. Here's some tips that I wish I knew sooner: 1) Don't over think/overcomplicate the application process. Trust me, you will figure it out. It's best to START EARLY so you can make mistakes before it's too late. 2) Don't underestimate the essay portion. Take your time and keep it simple. I'd recommend starting these early too. Also get them checked by multiple reliable sources. 3) Put things that ACTUALLY mean something to you on the activities list. Sure the usual fluff is alright, but make sure to also put some stuff that distinguishes you from others. 4) Quadruple-check your basic info and grades. You don't want to submit the wrong info for obvious reasons. 5) Have a back up plan. Mine was community college. 6) Maintain good grades, take hard classes, etc. 7) Don't stress too much about it. The fact that you're here and thinking about this says a lot of good things already. Good luck and I hope you get in. Also sorry for the formatting I'm on mobile.
@@jamesquebral5941 congrats on getting in thats amazing!! thank you so much for the tips they’re really helpful and i’m gonna keep them in mind as I apply :) again thank you so much you’re awesome!
What is the experience of being a student and how challenging is the curriculum, particularly in the field of computer science? Is it excessively demanding or feasible?
the student experience is amazing! but the curriculum of cs / data science is very challenging. it's definitely doable, but for me I need the right study group and friends to help me along :P
Bro I’m thinking about my future when I’m still trying to make friends in my freshman year in high school in a country where I don’t speak the language and am falling all my classes (which are in English)
lmaoo you can take the risk of getting a ticket -- but fun fact if you get 3 tickets a quarter ($70 each) it's still cheaper than paying for parking lol
just got accepted and now im lowk stressing so thank you for this vid 😭
