I like how you used metal, pex, pvc, and copper for your demonstration. Glad you mentioned deburring as it’s often overlooked and crucial to a good SharkBite connection. Was that Marvin Gaye I heard? Good basic around.
Thanks for taking the time to make this video, it is empowering. I am putting together my shopping list now to replace a soldered outdoor spigot. Question: what is the difference (if any) between the colored PEX piping?
Thanks for watching! In this video, the different colors red, white, and blue are for identifying which water line it is. Some other colors of tubing can indicate a different type of material. Please let me know if there is anything you would like to see me try out on the channel! Good luck with your next project!
you're are doing fine until you started to cut Pex pipe with the copper tool, for $11.99 you can get a Guillotine pex cutter that cuts perfectly, no spinning wheels, makes a super clean cut on the pex pipe, I have on and it's great , super clean cut .good luck
Plumber conncted white sharkbite pex to my whole house self flushing filter last week with the metal crimp clamps . I read white pex is supposed to only use the band type connectors . They said on youtube it voids the warranty on white pex Are there diffent types of pex plumbing 3/4 inch pipes
Thanks for your comment. Different types of PEX plumbing can be used for 3/4 inch pipes. Be sure to check the manufacturer's instructions to ensure you're using the correct type of connectors.
Got to ask, are you a plumper? Or just someone that has 3 comments , including mine,? Shark bites WILL explode and FAIL. Please, whoever reads this, research shark bites on TH-cam and you will THANK me, an actual plumper. Take care. To the person attempting to make crap content, Please take this video down because you are going to ruin someone’s life because that shark bite will cause major flooding to a person’s home.
Thanks for watching! Our channel is to help DIYers. I have used Pex in a number of projects and it has worked great for us. Good luck with your next project!
If you plumbers weren't robbing customers, guys like me wouldn't be watching these. If the product failed 100% like you suggest, it would have been off the market years ago. Just yesterday a plumber wanted $500 to replace two sillcocks. He also informed me he also had to replace the master water valve and install an inside shutoff valve for one of the sillcocks. Total job: $1,200. Well, after he left I (A) found the master water valve worked just fine, (B) there was in fact a shut-off valve for one of the sillcocks, and (C) the other sillcock was threaded and I removed and replaced it in 30 minutes. You plumbers are just looking to hang on to your jobs. Too bad.
Bought a house and the seller included one of those home warranties. About 4 months in, I started getting a leak from a 90 degree elbow in the garage before the shutoff valve. Call the warranty company, and pay the $80 callout fee. Plumber shows up and wants $300 for a “modification”. Warranty doesn’t cover modifications… Called a friend who has the torch and soldering experience and it was fixed in 20 minutes. What a bunch of scammers some plumbers and these warranty companies are.
Good Video. Thanks. But a little explanation instead of the fast motion as you connect the pipes would be good as the connection is sometime finicky
Glad you enjoyed this video. Yes, I can add that in the next video!

That's cute.
They polished the fitting for the video.
We all know they don't come with a shine finish.

Do the sharkbites fail by a slow drip or can they pop off completely?
Thanks for watching! So far I have not had any issues with them coming off at all.
