This is perfect. I have a lady at work that hasn’t crocheted in years, but wants to finish a blanket that her gramma started. She can’t remember how to turn… so I’m gonna have her make one of these first so I can show her how to crochet again!!! Thank you Jennifer
Many men knit and crochet. One of my best friends does both, as does his wife; and now his almost teenage son is interested. These hobbies are good for your brain (math and spatial thinking) as well as your hands. Always be you, who you are!
Why don’t you make a granny square shrug for work, use a hook 2 sizes up from Recommended on yarn strip. I made an aran with Wool one, it’s super cosy. I followed another TH-cam tutorial for it, but it’s a popular pattern so you can find it easily.
Save yourself a lot of grief and crochet Loosely on this one. The puffs can be challenging if they're too tight. And if you have yarn that splits, you'll be in big trouble. I'm doing this to use up some of my stash.
I make my wraps at least as long as the person is tall. (Or close to it.) I have a friend who is 6' and she needs a long shawl. Think 3' on each side or hip to hip. As for a triangular shawl, they are usually 72" across unless it is for my petite friends. This looks like an all-season church shawl. You know, when it's so cold you can hang meat!!
Jennifer, I was watching the video and Row one you said "DC, Chain 2, DC" in the actual video you did DC, Chain 1, DC" I don't have the actual pattern with me but I thought I point out that little hiccup in the video.
Hi I love all your projects I was looking for the pattern to make a rectangle shawl for my sister in law finally liked this one but you know the first row at the end I didn’t understand how did you end that could you please explain little bit I will be thankful to you 😋
You can make that decision yourself by the yarn choices you make. A heavier worsted may be great for fall/ winter, whereas a #3 may be all you need for spring summer. Any shawl pattern is determined heavy or light enough by the yarn we choose to use.
Just modified, but added this note to the pattern too: "Note : In the video and written pattern, I work a ch 1 in between each "V' of the v-stitch. However, if you are getting some tightness or "bunchiness", try working a ch 2 instead. Tension varies between crocheters and that puff is can be slightly bulky, so try both and see what works best for you!"
i would like to make this for a friend she is probably a size 2x. can you help me with the size ? maybe double the starting chain? not sure what your demo size will fit. maybe a medium ?
I have several friends and myself, who are definitely plus size. For our preference we like rectangular wraps to be 20-24" wide. I always take them to 70" long. That is generous. 50" x 18", meh. For smaller sizes and narrower shoulders maybe. Just my experience. Hope this helps.
Just to clarify, when you created the first V stitch, you explained to do a DC chain two and do another DC, however you only chain one when creating the V stitch. The written pattern calls for two chain for the V stitch. Which way is correct? Thanks!
You are absolutely correct! I went back into the pattern and changed it to ch 1, but added a little note about a ch 2: From the blog: "Note : In the video and written pattern, I work a ch 1 in between each "V' of the v-stitch. However, if you are getting some tightness or "bunchiness", try working a ch 2 instead. Tension varies between crocheters and that puff is can be slightly bulky, so try both and see what works best for you!"
I was wondering where you get your lovely yarn from I tried every store near me and they do not carry it wondering where you got yours from can you give a reply back thank you
Have you made this shawl yet? Share below! 💚

I am a boy but still knitt and crochet and I don't care what other people say about me
Knitting is a hobby. So boy and girl can do it. It doesn't have to be a girl.

I am a guy and I have been crocheting for few years now. Crochet has been my mental therapy. I have never been ashamed to say I crochet.
True, crochet really help me to release my stress

So beautiful! You always pick the best colors!

Hi. I wonder if this pattern can be made in a triangular shape? Thank you for your time :)

Hey Jennifer, where do you get all of your hooks and yarns? I just love them all!
Great question! fiberfluxblog.com/shop-here
Thank you
Would that pattern be suitable for a finer yarn? Thank you for the tutorial. :)
I asked the same question on a crochet facbook page and did not get an answer yet....
Maybe she is busy.
Do u have a tutorial for this pattern for a triangle shawl??
Can you make this a triangle shawl using these stitches?
What was the last stitch of row 1? A DC or puff?
Where can I find ur hooks. I do not see the down below u talk about. thank u.
Thank you so much for sharing 👍
Would this pattern be for like cooler weather or is it light enough for a warm summer night? I love this pattern I can’t wait to try one.

Sorry I asked you the end bit but I found the answer I think it’s double crochet 🧶 is that right 😋??
Your video tutorial has a chain one in your v stitch but the pattern had a chain 2 in the middle. Which is correct?
Just modified, but added this note to the pattern too: "Note : In the video and written pattern, I work a ch 1 in between each "V' of the v-stitch. how many you do for extra large chains
Si pudieras traducir al español por favor, gracias

Fiber Flux Thank you very much!
I was wondering where you get your lovely yarn from I tried every store near me and they do not carry it wondering where you got yours from can you give a reply back thank you
You can order yarn online. Wal-Mart, Amazon, Michael's, Joanns, so many sites. Hope that helps.
That pin in to keep the shawl together when wearing it, what do you call it, where can I get it or how do I make it?
I got this one from Knit Picks many years ago, they don;t have this exact one anymore, but have others that are just as lovely! :)
@@fiberflux thank you!
💕💕💕
Is a puff stitch the same as a bobble?
No. The bobble stitch is 4 or 5 dc together and a puff stitch you yarn over three or 4 times. Hope that helps.
Luwanda Artrelle that does help...thanks! Not a huge difference....I’ll just stick to the pattern. 😁
Your welcome Melanie. Glad I could help.
Would it be possible for you go zoom in a little closer to have a better view of the steps you're showing? Thanks

Your pattern shapes are basically the same but different stitches.
