Love seeing these small towns again. I was born and raised in Opelousas, LA. Spent a lot of my life in Lafayette and Arnaudville...had lots of family and friends there. I've been living in the DFW area since 2008, and don't get "back home" as often as I'd like. Hoping to get back on a bike and start taking road trips in the next few years. Thanks for sharing this!

I live in the Caribbean.
Although I use a 2021 Yamaha FZ25 daily to run my errands, I cannot go on long rides anymore. On the island where I live, the distance between the two furthest points will take you no more than 6 hours with a few stops. This includes the bumper-to-bumper 4wheel traffic we have daily. On a Sunday you can do it in less than 4 hours.
I have a condition called " Chronic heart failure". My heart was damaged by an influenza virus, and now operates around 20%. Because of the low blood flow, my body is starved of oxygen. I sweat a lot, tire easily, and have minimum strength.
But please do not feel sorry for me. I had a great life up to 63 when I was diagnosed. I lived quite like the Energiser bunny !!! I started riding at 17 and am still at it !
I am quite familiar with Sean's & Craig's blogs.

It was nice you gave him that bike but I don’t think he wanted to make a big deal about his pain.. you could see it in his face he was embarrassed to be put on the spot
Backstory. He and I were talking. He had just asked for permission to be able to tell his story. He knew the opportunity was soon to come for his painful story to be shared. He has shared that he is thankful that his story is shared on a big platform. We were trying to be sensitive and only shared a tiny piece. Overall a great experience.

I’ve had many injuries over the years and sometimes they feel permanent or like I will never be the same. Just give it time.
