    Great video! Couldn't have said it better myself. Allow me to add....... depending on what gun , I use a single or two point military style sling. Don't have to set the gun down, and really comes in handy when carrying sticks, bucket and grabbers. A head lamp is invaluable. If you can get a livestock permission ( dairy, poultry or pigs) your shooting will be year round. Cheers my friend!

      Can you tell me more about this sling? If it's what I am thinking of, I want one but never know what I need to get.

      @@arpc on my p-15 I use an inexpensive basic one , with the built in spring loaded quick attach clips and old school length adjustments. I use that as a single point. With the length of your gun , a two point is almost a must. In order for it to work properly you will have to put the rear sling swivel on the upper ( towards the cheek) SIDE of the stock, as I did on my Dreampup. Get a sling with the quick length adjust feature. If you're worried about damaging your stock you might want to avoid the sewn in quick clips ( some come with sleeves ,which is better). Some come with a bungee cord shock reduction feature. You'll have to research TH-cam, Ebay, Amazon etc.

      I had them running over my feet before. I hate them. I think I screamed inside when that happened! 😂. I was in a barn moving hay into another barn and I disturbed a large nest. The ran everywhere. Up the breeze block walls, over my feet (I had shorts on!) and out the barn across the yard. Awful experience. I prefer to see them through a scope! 👍😂
      Thanks for watching!! 👍

    • @henrymoreland8719
      @henrymoreland8719 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@arpc "I hate them" we have something in common.
      The "breeze block walls" brought back a BAD memory, WE, an Uncle, I and a cousin where inside the "breeze block" extension we had built, the job that day was to knock through to the restaurant it connected to, we thought the wooden sheeting covering the old wall contained a rat or two, so me and my Cousin stood (giddily) by ready with shovels while our uncle tore down the wooden sheeting.
      Along with countless little rats, four cat sized (in time in my mind they may have grew bigger)emerged, unable to find an escape they proceeded to run up and around the walls and us, after an age filled with screaming ( both the rats and us ) three big/eight small rats lay dead.
      I also hate them. please remove as many as possible.

      @arpc  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@henrymoreland8719 Hahaha. Sorry, I laughed reading that whilst feeling your terror!
      That must have been horrendous! I can imagine all of you in an enclosed space jumping around to avoid all of the rats and ducking to avoid waiving shovels! That must have been hell.
      The result, a ratty bloodbath and a pile of rubble around three scared, dusty yet somewhat relieved grown men. 😂😂

    Very Very good and informative video great job and having watched a great number of your videos have learned a lot.I was wondering what as a shooter you make of the ever evolving technology with regards scopes i cannot help but notice what they are now capable of for example the atn 4k pro very expensive for the less well off shooter although it makes target aquasition once all the ballistic information is added more effective,however do you think this is taking away the skill required as a shooter.Kind Regards .Brian

    • @arpc
      @arpc  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Brian,
      Thank you for your kind comments! I really appreciate it, and thanks for watching!! 👍👍
      To be honest I moved from standard optical scopes into the digital scopes - such as the ATN I use now - although I would not go back to a standard optical scope, they do have their advantages over the digital scopes. They are better for longer range shooting because they the zoom is true optical zoom and not digital zoom.
      That said, the digital scopes do have a lot more features and functionality and I forgo the optical magnification for these.
      I think if you were in a competition, then the digital scopes like the ATN is definitely a bit of a cheat. I much prefer optical scopes for these because you need to know your ballistics, holdover, hold under well.
      I do a lot of pest control and this is where the digital scopes come into their own. The ability to point, click, laser, get on target and shoot all within a second or two is absolutely superb, and essential in some cases.
      I suppose it is different tools for different jobs.

      About 15 years. I've only really been videoing shoots in the past couple of years. When I first started, there was no night vision or thermal equipment. It was red lighting, break barrels and lots of camping out in stables. It was nowhere near as much fun as it is today.
