Great comparison, and I 100% agree that the higher ABV carries more flavour. I would love if all whisky was available at cask strength with a recommendation of how much water to add.
I'm happy to see someone do a comparison. I bought 2 bottles of the Illicit Still in 2021 and have yet to even see the Licensed Dram in California. The Illicit Still is still being stocked though. This would have been even better still if you compared the Licensed Dram against the Glenlivet 12 First Fill 43%, a travel exclusive as I think it's also an amped up version of the regular Glenlivet 12.
Thank you, glad you liked it. That's interesting that you can't find the licensed dram, hope you do soon because it's good :) I've not come across the first fill one ever, maybe it's a US based duty free one? Cheers 🥃
I tried the blind to blind at three occasions and always ened with the Illicit Still being my favorite. Wherever I look Licensed dram seem to be the favorite. Regardless they are both good but to spend a few more dollars / pounds/ euros on a Signatory release is my advice. Good video. Thanks!
Blind is always different isn't it, maybe I should try that as well 🤔 Well yeah I think if I can I'd mostly go for ibs but I don't think I've ever had a Signatory Vintage of Glenlivet. Actually I don't think I've ever had or seen a Glenlivet from another bottler. So the hunt begins 😃🥃
Brilliant comparison mate. I fell in love with a sample of the Illicit Still but sadly left it too late to grab it before it disappeared. Recently picked up the Licensed Still and while enjoyed it didn't have the fire that the other has. Question is, which one slaps better? 🥃🥃
Nice comparison, but comment on the value missing :) Obviously, both licensed and illicit are better than the regular 12y glenlivet; but for that price level -50 GBP in the UK- you definitely will get better 12 y or even some 15 y single malts. I'd say neither deserves the value. Slainte!
Glad you liked it and thank you for the info 😃 I try to avoid the value bit as prices vary so so much and I don't think you can even find the Illicit Still anymore but yeah 50£ would get you some real gems I agree. Slàinte back sir 🥃
Man, I have a bottle of the illicit still sitting in my cabinet and I don't want to open it! Lol, Im that asshole that thinks "limited edition" actually means something😂. I'm sure i'll kick that nonsense eventually.....
The Illicit was my favorite whiskey of 2022. Loved it. I'm going to have to keep a looking for the licensed dram.
The Illicitt is good but the Licensed is my favourite. Hope you find it and like it when you do 😃🥃
I enjoy these comparisons a lot. Gives a lot of depth before buying a bottle! Cheers🥃🍊
Glad you like them 😃 Yeah the more we know the better we spend our money, cheers my friend 🥃

Nath I've watched enough of your videos to know nothing is high abv enough for you! I think you've blown your palate mate 🤣

Same, but they’re close.
I love the Illicit Still but have never seen the Licensed Dram.
That is interesting maybe it never arrived to your market. In my market the Illicit finished really quickly whereas the Licensed is still around
I bought the Illicit Still for $39 one year ago
Yeah that sounds about right but I wouldn't pay anymore than that. Cheers 🥃
Çok net bilgiler aldım👍Teşekkurler🙏
Ne mutlu bana 😃🥃

That is always the question! I'll bring you a sample next time I'm in England 🥃

Well in this case you might be right as they don't produce it anymore so who's the asshole now huh Glenlivet! 😂
