  • The Blue winged Olive Dun is one of the dries that I employ during a hatch of BWO's on our waters.
The underbody is trimmed to allow the fly to sit on the water, so that the fan-shaped mix of hackle and EP fibre wing, hopefully, creates a similar footprint to the natural.
This fly can be tied in a variety of sizes and colours to mimic different species of upwings.
    Dressing:
    Hook: Kamasan B405 or B170 Size 16
    Thread: Olive 8/0 Uni-Thread
    Abdomen/Thorax: Olive Super Fine dubbing
Wing - BWO EP Trigger Point International Fibres
    Hackle: Blue Dun Cock Hackle
