I have just recently started learning. Spent so much $$ it's ridiculous. I have no choice now, I HAVE TO learn !! Haha. Anyway, I cant paint a friggin' cloud to save my life so thank you very kindly. You make it look so damned easy you rascal!! Haha. Been watching you, listened to your story and can definitely relate to it as I have been to that "same place!" You have amazing courage and are a tremendous inspiration!! I even bought your paints!! Havent arrived yet. Thank you so much for what you do. I'm a disabled Vietnam Veteran PTSD, 70 years old and really am developing a passion for painting. Thanks Justin!! You're the best!!
I am you, I stated by doing a little rock painting kit out of boredom during pandemic and unemployment. Was watching a few videos, then wallah, here I am with all this stuff and couldnt get the dang clouds right. This video, the best I have seen so far. Now maybe I can do it. Not to mention he also mentions what size brush he is using when some others would just say "grab your cloud brush" Welll ummm Im a beginner, a newbie what the heck is a "cloud brush"
I can relate too and have been there. Four months ago I started painting again after a 50 year hiatus and a bazillion masks later. You gotta start somewhere. So ordered my acrylics, first set of brushes, easel, canvases...blah blah. Oh, and a hairdryer. Never used one before on a painting but some instructors now required one. No frigging idea what some of those brushes we for...but I never seemed to have the right brushes for those online paint nites. Four sets later...I'm positive I don't have a cloud brush either. I'm a little afraid of those fan brushes to. DAMMMM, he's going to finish those clouds before I complete this comment!!
I am 84 and hearing impaired and the sound is the best uTube I have watched and I watch A LOT of them! Thanks, love the clouds and experiment suggestion!
Really appreciated this video. I have been trying way too hard on making "perfect" clouds that consistently turn out like shit - I've damn near given up painting entirely! Excited to give it a go again tomorrow.
That is the best example of clouds with oils..every moment was interesting, each technique simple with extraordinary features and results. That is TEACHING. THANK YOU 😊
I like to take pictures of the sky. I took a picture of clouds and have wanted to paint them but didn't know where to start.Thank you for this video it has given me a starting place. No fear of color now. I wish I could send you the picture because it is really beautiful with the glow in the center with pink and darker clouds.I look forwards to seeing more of your videos. I am 76 years old and have been oil painting cloth dolls for 20 + years but have just recently started painting on canvas and old wood. Still a beginner
I was so depressed with my clouds, but now watching you it look much easy and really so different from others artist that I will try again, thanks for your demonstration
Your audio is fine. I also appreciate your discussion of so many good instructional facts. You are so encouraging. Thank you. If I am not wrong, I see a hint of Bob Ross in your technique. You are positive, telling us every movement. I hope you are very successful. I am a beginner who has just appreciated art so long, but at 74 decided to try my hand to DO some.
Man, this is exactly the cloud tutorial I've been looking for. I'm so glad TH-cam recommended your video to me. Thank you for sharing your story and your talents! I will definitely become a Patron!
Audio was just fine. I like the sound of the brush on the canvas. Art helped me armor myself from a horrible childhood, so I agree it helps so much ! Thanks Justin !
The audio sounds perfect. The voice is good, and the brush strokes reminds me of when Bob Ross use to paint, lol. Perfect, because you can actually tell how the pressure of brush is applied to the canvas. Awesome information, thank you.
Thank you for helping me tremendously with painting clouds. I have been struggling with a class assignment of a storm cloud painting for a week. I couldn't get the " puffiness" and blending right. After watching a few tutorials, this video is the one that helped me understand the basics after I followed along with what you were doing. Much relief!!
I'm an absolute beginner i have painted only 3 pictures literally from just exploring. I found you r video really well presented and the volume, its good. You have inspired me to not be afraid of trying. I will be definitely putting your ideas to play. Thank you so much for your help and advice totally appreciated breath of fresh air. 👀😊😉💚
Thank you for making clouds so simple. I enjoy your work and have been painting for a few years now with a wonderful group that quickly turned into great friends. Art is a blessing and adds so much to life. May God continue to bless you....
As an extreme beginner, I would love to watch you apply the paint to your brush, in addition to watching you apply the paint to the canvas... Somehow it seems like it would be mission critical important, to scoop up the paint onto the brush, just so, in order to be able to create the desired result when applying the paint onto the canvas, just so. Is that the case? Thank you for your time and response. Painting is a new artistic adventure for me and I must say, that it is truly delightful!🌟 .... And, I also must say, that it's definitely been an adventure of a learning process, as well...sometimes like a gentle breeze...and quite often it's not unlike Mr. Toad"s Wild Ride! Lol😱🤔🙄🙏😀😎💖 🌟💜🌟
Justin. I really loved your video of the pine trees. That was exactly what I needed for the painting I was currently doing. Your video took the fear out of trying the trees. They came out beautifully. Thank you so much. Bless you
Thank you for sharing this video! You make it look so easy but now I know I can go in and paint my clouds without stressing how crap they use too look. I am new to painting, and enjoying everything about it. Thanks again! X
Thanks so much for your generosity teaching us how to paint clouds well and easily. It’s always what stresses me out most. You make it so simple! The sound is perfect! Can you show us how to paint the sunlight amongst the clouds some day?
I like the tapping for say Ocean spray... The sound is fine. The brush strokes gives the sense of just how non oily the canvas is and how little paint is on the bristles...
Thank you so much for this video! I really appreciate being shown various ways to make clouds and the different base colors to use. You make it look so easy. I intend to practice this technique now that I have watched your video! .... and, yes, your audio is fine
Therapy or just for fun you are a great inspiration. I have been away from painting for many a year to many and watching you has made me want to start again and learn these techniques. I will be working through your vids to see what I can do. Stay safe.
Fantastic lessons Justin! Love your commentary, very ala "Bob Ross" who always makes you feel like you can do anything...keep it simple. THANK YOU! Oh my goodness I just looked further into your videos and I was right...about Bob Ross being your inspiration! Again, fantastic and YES creating art is very healing for your soul! I am painting with you Justin!
I love clouds ☁️ so much! I’m always taking photos of the sky. Clouds are one of the things I’m looking forward to trying first! This is an awesome video and audio is perfect. Thanks 🙏🏻 for sharing this with us 😊
Thanks for sharing this helpful video, Justin. I think the reasons I struggled with clouds had to do with not keeping the brush tip firmly planted on the canvas and using circles that were way too big. It took a while to learn how to load the brush properly for this as well, it really needs to be thick. It's hard for us to see what the tip of our teacher's brush is doing and sometimes it takes watching the same thing a hundred times before we see it clearly in our minds. You really have a way of simplifying things though. Happy Painting!
I absolutely love these teaching videos. Thanks brother, I appreciate it. The sound was great to me, I'm hard of hearing, but I could hear this. Thanks again for the teaching tutorial. Maybe if you do another like this, you could show the different ways to make bushes and layered bushes. I struggle with painting bushes at times. God bless my friend ✌🏼❤🎨
Here's what happened to me when I started adding clouds to my nearly finished oil painting. I already have clouds on the painting but because the painting is large I added more. Well because the sky was already painted which is a sunset or sunrise, there was of course no wet paint to go up into the new clouds so I added some color. When I began lightly brushing this sunset color up into the bottom of my clouds, the brush wiped some white paint on the rest of the sky. Very frustrating. Justin makes painting look so easy and he is extremely talented. Love your work!!
You did that wrong. Clouds depth comes front he colour behind and if you are revisiting a painting to add clouds you need to water down your paint so it is translucent.
Really enjoyed this examples... I'm a new painter... 75 years old.. Never to late...
Wow! When I'll grow older, I wish to keep up with my passion with the same enthusiasm as yours☺️
That's amazing!!
I love this. Good on you!
I’m 52 and just started too 👍👍
I'm 66 and just started! Justin is a treasure.
I’m also a new painter 76 yr old, really enjoyed your lesson.
Your microphone was perfect.
I found you just in time I was getting discouraged and now I’m better. You helped me so much already.
I have just recently started learning. Spent so much $$ it's ridiculous. I have no choice now, I HAVE TO learn !! Haha.

Been painting with oils and acrylics for years. Love your method for clouds. Your sound system is great. Much easier than what I have been doing.
Wow, That's a great video. I will always cheer for you in Korea I'm looking forward to a great video. Have a nice day.

Thank you so much for this video. It has given me new insights on how to achieve paintings of clouds as a new, and untrained painter.
