For this video, I broke out my copy of The Red Book of Westmarch, my map of Middle Earth, and my LOTR inspired pipe. I then added the sound of a fire cracking in the hearth and bird sounds that are nearly identical to those in the movie during this scene. Enjoy.

The thing that strikes me about the Lord of the Rings is that, once you have known it it's as if it has known you. You find a kind of longing for it in all its glory, wonder and terror as if you could wish it into being. Exploring the world through Tolkien's pages makes one want to wander around and explore for yourself the Shire and Bree. See the mountain giants or the glorious Rivendell. To dine and sing with ole Tom and to take in the glory of Gondor, the majesty of Rohan, the mystery of Mirkwood and her elven folk or the aloof grandeur of Khazad Dun and the Lonely Mountain... and then all to end up somewhere peaceful and Shire-like sitting on a bed of long grass under an oak tree with a good pie, an ale and an afternoon to do a lot of nothing else because it's good to go home after an adventure.
