- Minor gameplay spoilers, but I tried to make this one as spoiler-friendly as possible. With Siksong on the way, Hollow Knight is going to be getting massive wave of new players along with it. So consider this video a quick guide of some of the most obscure, mechanically practical features I've found to help me out in Hollow Knight.

Is there any way to know where to go? I just find myself getting bored after being lost and revisiting the same area over and over and over.
@@Justice1711 i haven't finished it yet, but i really think if you can't find the next place to go, just look it up, some may say that it ruins the experience, and that is partially true but, meh, it is better to not have a complete experience than to not have an experience overall, but try to look over and over for new things, because it is important that you find things by yourself

If you quit the game and rejoin, you will spawn at the last bench you rested at, along with all your geo and new map areas discovered. Great for quickly and safely escaping deep and difficult areas.

I can't lie I would say I have played a lot of games on mobile but some computer games are difficult on another level and Hollow Knight is one of them. I still haven't beaten the game yet but I'm just slowly taking my time and clearing small parts of it at a time and it's relieving that people advise you to take your time
it was the same with me! I was so sad because I kept seeing comments saying to just leave the game and that if you struggled with ..... boss then there is no hope for the later ones. Its the first game like this I've played too and the art is sooo beautiful I really didnt want to give up and I'm glad I didnt! Im slowly getting through it and am really enjoying it despite the frustration of dying so many times :'3

A tip that helped me through most of the game: Spell spam is far more effective than panic healing.

I barely even used spells
cuz spells actually have an immediate impact, so at least u know you're doing sth worthwhile. Getting killed while healing makes u feel completely useless

@@StarrySkys and that's how i kill most of the hard bosses that everyone keeps talking about over and over. I still remember the very first time I killed the Mantis Lord took me only 5 tries, but not because I was able to figure out all the correct timings, but it was because i was spamming vengeful spirit whenever my nail can't reach, and descending dark whenever it charges at me. Needless to say i was left w/ a single mask when i killed it, and it was after i have gotten at least 3 additional health upgrades.
Just a quick tip for new people, whenever you get monarch wings, dont go immediately fight watcher knights. I personally would get a few nail upgrades and shade cloak if I was doing my first run.
I beat the other two dreamers before I even knew there were nail upgrades but I just couldn't get past the watcher knights. Then I discovered the nailsmith and maxed my nail and when I tried again, I blew right through them. So yes, upgrade your nail!
I think I went in to that with the pure nail. Still a pain though, but it definitely helped.
Watcher Knights, are really hard for first time but when i was doing steal soul i beat them hitless

@@debpet6345 having descending dark is really helpful too. I think I was doing watcher knights on a run & had got caught a few times then got cornered between 2 & panic spammed d.dark & killed them with 1 hp left 😂
A tip for any new players that just saw this video: Bosses usually repeat attack patterns if your struggling with a boss try to memorize its attack pattern.
Any tips specifically for hornet? I keep landing on top of her when I land causing me to take stupid damage
@@CheeseBoat25I just kept dodging until there was an opening and attacked. I just beat her though and I probably got lucky she didn't spam the AOE attack.
"Jiji" in my language, Indonesian, is slang for "Disgusting" or "Gross". So it kinda makes sense for me that Jiji eats Rancid Eggs.

My tip is that charms matter a lot in terms of gameplay. Find the playstyle that matches with your abilities the most and use the charms that help you the most in your playstyle. There are people who use more the nail than spells and vice-versa, people more focused in defense and healing, people more focused in offense and tanking/avoiding damage. When you progress the game, you are able to find items, abilities and charms that will help you develop your playstyle the most, so, explore the game. You will often find platforming challenges, embrace the challenge, and the game will reward you. Experimentation, trial and mistake are all part of the process
something you missed in the down slash section (aka pogoing) is that while it resets your double jump when you successfully land a pogo on an enemy or spikes or whatnot, it also does the same for your mothwing cloak dash as well. so you could, if needed, jump > dash > double jump > pogo something > double jump > dash, or some pattern similar, since you regain a new dash AND double jump both from EVERY pogo you land before touching the ground

I just started a few days ago but some useful things I’ve learned is: always try to fill your soul gauge before a boss battle. Also get a map marker in case u find something useful or interesting but can’t reach it with your current abilities.

Also you can reflect the crystal shots of the flyers to one-shot ‘em.

You can beat the regular ending no problem without unbreakable strength, but if you want to beat radiance it’s super helpful.

Yeah I feel like every single youtuber/game guide has misled me on that. Literally EVERY single one of them says, "Oh, don't worry about geo later in the game, because it's easy to get everything--" no, it's really not.
@@Icerope-km9lu Once you get access to sell your artifacts, you'll gain a TON of geo. I just recently got to that point and gained something like 8000 geo and just went and bought pretty much everything that I hadn't already bought. I need to buy unbreakable strength and fix one of the other ones, but I still have like 4000 geo lol

tip: every time you see something that you need to use an ability in the future, mark them in the map pins, so when you're stuck you know where to go
Yes, I can vouch for that. In my first playthrough, I wasted so much time by looking at incomplete parts of my map, thinking, "Oh, I forgot to go that way; I should explore that," and getting there only to find that I hadn't explored it because I didn't have the right abilities yet. It really does save headaches when you just mark those places instead.
Even more importantly, it is a TERRIBLE time trying to remember things like, "Wait, where was that room that had that treasure I couldn't reach? I remember acid water... and some kind of stone wall... what area was that even in?" (Acid water and stone walls describes about half of the game areas.)
I would also add, use pins for important locations that the map doesn't identify. For example, the grave where the Grey Mourner wants you to take a flower isn't marked... and you REALLY don't want to go wandering around with that flower any longer than you need to, trying to remember the exact location.

How am I JUST now learning that you can mark shit on your map? I bought those markers thinking they were charms!
I didnt need to, I just would pull up the map and look for branches/passages that weren't shown yet but were open. Thats where i needed to go.

I farmed geo in the early game because I thought that I needed the lantern to proceed. I didn't need, but was a good decision.

I just bought it. I just happened to earn 1900 coins while exploring certain areas. I haven't beaten yet the boss that shoots lasers and the vampire-like boss that is surrounded with 4 globes.
@@somemong989 I didn't need the lantern at the very early game, but then it showed to be very useful. I also used the moss knights technique to farm geo.

The most useful tip I can give: _For the love of god, PLEASE be patient during boss fights._
I understand. You might make a decent amount of progress on your first run; you might get to phase 2 or whatever. But then you die, so you think, "That wasn't too bad. Now I can rush through the first phase to get back to the second one quicker, right?" But no! That's a terrible thing to do. Don't ever think of anything as "easy", because in this game, chances are, they're definitely not, and you're just making yourself angry by continuing to fail at an "easy" boss. This tip is invaluable at every point in the game, but _especially_ with certain endgame bosses. _Keep calm and be patient._
If anyone reading this is new to Hollow Knight, I hope you enjoy the game just as much as I did! It may be difficult, but everything is worth it in the end, believe me. I have faith in you
THIS! Patience, watching bosses and learning their telegraphs is by far the best way to success. The only way, really.
I'm currently attempting Hornet's second boss fight and my main issue is panic jumping. I have issues, only with bosses, where I jump reflexively until I learn the patterns and it's something I really need to stop doing.

This is actually really helpful! I went into hollow knight completely blind and didn't know anybody else whose played so I got discouraged. Deff going to give it another try
I had this breakdown three weeks ago when I gave up completely on the game because I was SO BAD that I just thought this game was too much for me. This week I've continued it and I'm so happy because I have advanced a lot in it. I think that boss fights depend on luck (kinda) because one day I'm super concentrated, keep dying and get exhausted and other day I come and beat the boss in the first try. Now I'm in the spider boss and I've kinda learn how to love boss fights :)))
A similar tip I wanted to add: watching is better than punching. Even if the Boss has 5 different attacks and you can only attack them during that one. You wait. You wait, until you can finally attack, don't try to rush to deal dmg. Chances to heal during a fight are often risky and sparse.
Weird tip: The road signs actually mean something. Learn to spot them, especially the stag station sign
And the bench
the sign in the crossroads with the spikes facing up and down actually point in the direction of the two first bosses
Omg, yes. When i went to fight Hornet I passed by the Stag sign so many times without paying attention, I had to make this whole path every time from the nearest not-that-near-bench to the fight. I sure felt stupid when I found the Stag
I constantly broke them for the hell of it after seeing them and assuming something important is up there

I know about most of the tips already, but when he said “everyone dies A LOT when they first start playing.” really helped me. I compare my gameplay to others and think “God, I suck...” but now that I think about it, that’s the worst and biggest mistake you can ever make when playing Hollow Knight. Everyone grows and gets better at their own pace, and everyone starts out with a certain amount of skill. Some might start out really good, but never get better. Others start out extremely trash, but get better over time, and eventually beat the people who started out really good. My point is, don’t compare your gameplay to someone else’s, and don’t compare the amount of times you die fighting a boss. Just play the game at the pace you’re comfortable with, and you’ll fall in love with it.

It’s a challenging game for sure, but if you’ve got experience with the Souls genre, it’s far less frustrating. You’ve already been programmed to learn move sets, tells, openings, and so forth. This makes boss fights more manageable.
As for platforming, there are some brutal areas for sure. A weapon arts one comes to mind. Kinda felt like the platforming was a mini boss of sorts since the music changes. Haven’t gotten to “THE platforming hell section,” yet, but I know it exists. But anyways, it’s about precision and timing.
My point being, keep at it. The great thing about games like this, Ori, pick a Souls game, is that absolutely everyone can beat it. I mean it. The whole “git gud” meme did get toxic, but it’s also true. You’ve got to figure it out for yourself.
Mantis Lords are a fun battle, but once you figure it out you realize how telegraphed it really is. Same thing with.....Pontiff in DS 3 or Lynels in BOTW. The Ginso Tree in Ori is brutal, but once you figure it out you get to go for a nice swim.
So, in closing, it’s okay to take a break. Chances are you’ve made progress, even though you keep dying. Maybe you made it to phase two and couldn’t get back to it this time. Maybe you finally made over the first set of spikes, but kept dying. The point being, you did make progress. Relax, take a few hours, maybe a couple of days, and start fresh. Games like this are meant to test your resolve. Why let developers win when they designed it for you to win?

I died at least 8 times at the first hornet fight
what really annoys me in hollowknight is when you panic heal and you let go last second and lose all your focus
Then just don’t panic heal, use descending dark instead

Major advice for Hollow Knight I'm surprised no one mentioned as first: Please don't die before recovering your shade. Or you will lose ALL your collected Geo. I've lost 12000 Geo this way.
Second: Play on headphones. Hollow Knight has astounding sound design that gives you subtle audio hints about secret areas.

Ehhhh at that point if you’re holding onto 12,000 geo you better be at end game and have bought out all the stores already. Otherwise it’s on you. But I think the most I’ve lost is maybe a couple hundred? But mostly because it was a situation where I didn’t care just cause I already bought everything I needed at the moment.
I almost lost 7 thousands of geo, because my shade spawned near of a annoying foe (the same that killed me in the first time). I hit my soul in the last moment.

Have patience. The most useful tip I received was to have patience and learn the enemy movement. Don't nail, don't spell, just watch and see how the enemy move. You're not a speedrunner you're just a player trying to enjoy the game uvu
That and memorise the map, it's efficient and it's not a choice you'll learn it anyway

I lost my first 400 geo because I wasn´t careful... because I didn´t know this. It hurt so bad :'(

The game combat is basically;
- Dont heal, learn to dodge
- Use spells
- Learn to find breeches on enemy movement so you can deal more damage
My version of HK game combat:
- Dodge. Seriously, just dodge. Heal when the battle's over.
- Cast Descending Dark. Just Descending Dark. Those I-frames really help.
- Pogo on everyone who doesn't counter back or jump.

There are breaches long enough to heal on several major bosses. Soul Tyrant has a huge one enough to heal more than 4 points. Killed him in 4 tries under-equipped once the patterns were obvious.
Spells make me lose. I don't use em ever. The best advice for combat is remain calm and move slow. Being fast almost always gets you hit and panic gets you hit a lot. Just stay steady and swing the nail and there's no boss you can't fight

Oh dude, it could have been worse. There's an image online of what is presumably a cut boss in that area; a giant, red-eyed spider that slowly appears from the darkness in the background. Some fans theorized that, based on the location it would have appeared in, those creepy dudes that approach you on the bench were originally going to be puppets on that thing's legs, and that you would then fall through the floor into its arena to fight it. It's kind of funny to imagine that monstrous beast putting on a fake voice to trick you like some puppeteer, though.

i feel ya, i accidentally fell into deep nest just after i got the desolet dive, i was on 1 hp and just barely escaped! i couldn't heal from the dirtcarvers ii think they are called. i could not heal!

I LOVED Hollow Knight. It was so neat- and I HATE platformers usually... but this one really got my interest- the music, the art style, and the character is sooooo cute!
A tip that really helped me with some of the tougher boss fights: Just because the boss is moving quickly doesn’t mean you have to. It’s REALLY easy to panic, start trying to keep pace with many of the later bosses, but it’s also incredibly difficult to do so. It’s a lot better to learn when and how you NEED to move, and do just that. If there’s 50 projectiles on screen, you don’t need to avoid all of them, just the ones coming at you. Keep it easy, and be deliberate with your movement.
Also, if you’re really struggling with a boss fight, make an attempt where you don’t try to damage the boss at all. Focus ENTIRELY on dodging. Start weaving in damage after you’ve started getting the feel and rhythm for how to avoid the bosses attacks. You’ll almost certainly die, but it’ll jumpstart your handle on the bosses moves, and it’s worth it.

@@gabtrg314 False knight can be tricky, but he also has a trick to him: he actually only has 1 phase. Let me explain:
First, equip the Spell-boosting damage charm, I think it’s called something like Shaman Soul. With this equipped, you only need to get him staggered once. Then, dream nail him ONCE, and then pogo on the top of his body. This will reset his timer to stand up on his own. You can also get away with healing ONCE, and then pogo on top of his body (important: NOT his head. Deal enough damage and he’ll stand back up, we don’t want that). Repeat until you’re at full soul and masks. Then hit him so he stands back up. If you’re good, you can Wraith scream him as he jumps to the center, either do that or just immediately run to one end of the arena and spam Shade Souls. With the boosted spell damage, you should be able to deal enough damage to restagger him. Repeat the dream nail-pogo loop until full soul again and repeat.
I’ve got it down to a science at this point, although I’m in the post game, but you can def get the handle of it. I believe in you!
@@mattfenner7824 thanks, also i think my problem is i tried beating failed champion, while underleveled, when i forced myself to beat him, i only had the cloak, the mantis claw, and the crystal heart, i didn't have double jump (or the monarch wings), and also for the longest time, i didn't know that desolate dive was an attacking move XD, also only had the 1st nail upgrade,
So even though i got his abilities down, i was still underskilled considering this is my first playthrough, either way i appreciate the advice, and I'll try learning more on it, while also trying to have fun since it's my first time playing it, have a good day mate

One tip after about 20h of gameplay: Enjoy that your character is not becoming so much better like in other games, but that you as a player are becoming better. Many games nowadays are easy if you just grind enough weak enemies and level up, becoming basically immortal. In this game, the first boss will kill your upgraded character if you hand your controller to a friend for half a minute.

I think I made it one time, but the combination of god tamer and grim gets me most of the time and I can't get the hang on grey prince Zote and Uumuu is just annoying and slys last phase is just too fast for my taste.

Something that I found useful when fighting bosses: don't stop moving. Unless the boss is winded and you need to heal/charge an attack, keep moving.
It's something that most people probably already know about but seriously it's super helpful.
Hit everything. You never know what shortcuts you might unlock.
Also upgrade your soul spells, nail, and masks as much as you can. It's oh so very helpful!!
One thing I do from most 2D games (like this one) and most people don't and REALLY helps.
Don't watch your knight. Watch the enemy. You gotta be aware of your space to maneuver, but lock eyes on the target. NEVER leave the enemy out of your sight, neither it's projectiles.
My friend faced Hornet and he had his *ss handed to him 7 times in a row. I told him: "Ignore what you CAN do and watch where she is. Pay attention only to her and react accordingly."
He beaten her right after no problem.
One massive tip for boss fights is: Dont always try to heal. Some bosses are literally just too fast and will end up causing you more damage instead of healing that health. Quick focus is a great way to get around it, but sometimes dodging can lead to you defeating the boss instead of dying trying to heal.
Learned that one the hard way, against Hornet and the Soul Master.

@@Mike_Dubo The first Hornet fight was easy for me. I am Noob in metroidvania games, and I I had died a lot of times against the first boss. But when I finally arrive to the second zone and play vs Hornet, it took me just 3 tries.
Soulmaster was my third boss, and took me 9 times. But the problem was, I only died 5 times in the first phase, and 1 time in the second phase because it took me by surprise. But the other 3 times that I died, were on the road to arrive to the boss. This get me frustrated. Ecah time you died, you had to go through a long way to arrive. And the wizards enemies were really annoying. I lost 1000 geos through the way.
With Soulmaster you can heal yourself in a specific moment, and with Hornet too. The problem is when you are in panic and you try to heal yourself in a wrong time. But there weren't the most difficult. As I said, you could heal. Maybe the next bosses are faster

15:00 when i first played i thought the broken soul gauge was a lasting effect and you keep that permanently as sort of a "punishment" for dying. It's only after I died to hornet that I found the shade, and was so shocked when killing it repaired my soul meter.
I thought that the broken soul gauge would get worse and worse with every death until It breaks completely and get a game over for dying too much.

a habit i use when fighting a boss is dedicate your first try to learning, first try on a fight i spend just dodging and learning the attacks, then when you feel comfortable knowing the patterns you can continue on with trying to kill it. learning patterns first is better than constantly yoloing it

I cant say it enough: dont feel shitty for having to google stuff sometimes. HK has so much content, enough for multiple playthroughs, and half the stuff is very well hidden. Youre not worse of a player for it. The experience is the most important, not how you got it.

In my first playthrough I tried going through blind, but realized I just was not enjoying myself that much struggling to find things. The map is HUGE and knowing where to go was difficult for me since it takes me a while to learn maps.
I ended up googling where a lot of things were, where to go, etc. And I still had a phenomenal time with the game, and it still became one of my all time favourites.
People told me I basically spat in the face of Team Cherry for not enjoying a specific part of the game, but enjoying the hell out of literally everything else.
That's normal. That's called having opinions. Nobody likes every part of any game. And its your experience, not anyone else's. You bought the game. So enjoy it how you want. You just have to choose whether to deal with it, or look online to make it easier for yourself.
You can basically fast travel to the last bench you were at by quitting to the menu and reentering the game. This is especially useful if you want to take a break from a difficult boss, but your shade spawns in the arena; you can enter the arena, focus entirely on defeating your shade, and then quit out of the boss fight by going to the menu.

I started this game recently and I have a good tip:
Since the game auto-saves frequently, if you want to go back to the last bench you sat on, you can just quit to title screen and load your file again. Keeping your money and progress.
This helps when I'm re-exploring easy areas and wanna leave quickly without sitting in another bench.
This was the very first game I got for my switch, a system I payed for with my own money, and this was the only game I had on there for a while. It. Was. Breathtaking. This game is a master piece, and my only real advice isn't really so helpful: Stop and look around often. Just take in the beautiful artwork of this game as you try to put together the somewhat confusing lore. This game is a test of skill at times, a test of patience, and an engrossing experience all around. It's one of my favorite games of all time, and not just for it's great gameplay. I could spend hours looking at the art and listening to the soundtrack. This game is teeming with life and passion and care from some very talented developers.
I know I'm a little late to the party commenting here, but if you do happen to be reading this, I hope the game means as much to you as it does to me. Please enjoy every moment you have and every secret you discover. That's my advice.
I completely agree! Once I was about 1/2 way through this game, I began to call it that- a masterpiece. It is artistically/visually stunning, the music is perfect, the story is a grand tragedy and an existential commentary, and the gameplay is just next level. I have been a gamer since 1988. Hollow Knight is in my top 5 games of all time.
I quite agree with you, it was the beauty of the game that got me into playing it, even tho it's incredibly hard for me. May I offer you a suggestion? If you love embracing a masterpiece as you play it, you will love Ori and the Blind Forest, and his sequel, Ori and the Will of the Wisp! Ori graphisms are just as beautiful as Hollow Knight, and the soundrack is too of incredible quality! The story, while waaay more simple than Hollow Knight, is well made and touching. The gameplay, while way less difficult than Hollow Knight, will give you a sense of freedom very fun to play with.

This isn't a huge tip, but it's one I would've liked to have when I was starting out-
You can't touch the acid, but you can swim in the water. Makes the City of Tears and Royal Waterways a little less terrifying when you realize falling isn't that bad. In most spots anyway
With ismas tear you can swim in the acid.

But it should also be importat to mention is while you are in the water you can´t attack and therefore are a bit more prone to get damage if you dont get out quickly.

here's a couple of tidbits about your shade.
When you die without your shade, you lose all of your geo.
When you don't have your shade, you can see if on the map (It'll be a pretty obvious, black shadowy thing with glowing white eyes.
Your shadow gains health when you do, making it harder to kill but also easier if you upgrade your nail.
Your shade learns when you do, meaning that when you learn a spell, so will your shade.
your shade's health, however, is also directly proportional to your nail strength
And if you use the charm that transform all your health masks into blue masks, you can kill it with one hit. (The blue masks don’t count to it’s health)
You can dream nail your shade for instant kill it
It took me one second after actually dying and finding the shade that the lil fucker attacks you lol

The downslash tip is one of the most important on the list in my opinion. Learn the timing and your gameplay will be much easier in many parts of the game. And don't be like me and start using spells on the end game, train how to use them and you will have a good time later on.
I use this in pantheon of hallownest health binding a lot on many bosses but especially on vengeful kings
I always under or overestimate the nail’s reach. Took a lot of practice, but I beat the White Palace if that means anything.
Vicar Manus It takes a while to get used to, especially if you change it with badges.
Same with the no knock back badge, I just couldn’t get used to it.

Someone may have already mentioned this, but my own piece of advice is this: when you get the Monarch Wings (double jump), it may be very useful and fun, but don't become _overreliant_ on it. Many times after I first unlocked it, I caught myself doing quick double-taps on the jump button and messing up my timing and judgement of distance on what were relatively easy platforming puzzles before. Don't be afraid to use a simple hop or a high-jump and save the double jump just in case you miss your landing.

I actually time my use of the double jump to help position myself better. For example, sometimes a quick double tap can move you horizontally without moving you vertically very much. It’s all situational.
For me it’s the opposite. It’s so much easier to do the double tap since you can save yourself whereas before you couldn’t
This is so true. I started using it all the time, even for small jumps, and half the time I'd miss the platform because of it.
For anyone who has monarch wings but hasn't beaten soul master - this helps a lot being able to double jump (yes it's absolutely doable to skip soul master & come back with some upgrades if you're having a tough time!)
Another tip: When facing Devout Stalkers, just uninstall the game. It’s more efficient at killing them than the “standard” tactic
I really never had a lot of trouble with them once I realized you just had to be patient. I’m surprised how little I see let’s players actually just CHILL when they see a new enemy. Just stay away and observe how the enemy attacks. Would save them a lot of trouble haha

If you touch it instead of letting it hit you, you'll only take 1 damage instead of 2

It breaks the guard AND damages the enemy. Immediately dash away from them and you won't get hit, they become soul once you start doing this

Here's a good tip if you're struggling with a particular boss: try switching up your charms. Every boss is different and the strategy that works well to defeat one boss might not work for all of them.

Some bosses are just too fast/spammy. Of course the best time to use it on bosses is when they're staggered, but with bosses like false knight (and i think failed champion) you can only deal damage while they're staggered.

LordNul1 dream nail him while his head is stuck out, then bounce on his back, not his head, every time you hit him it resets his timer to get back up, and then repeat until soul is full, hit the head a few times, then you have a full would gauge for the next phase
Yeahh, I dropped down in deepnest before I even discovered the city of tears my first time playing. It's safe to say that I didn't feel in control and thought I had gotten stuck
I fell in there early and it took me an hour to get out.

I learned the importance of pogo fighting in the hornet fight where I avoided her and her nail half the time if instead of waiting to leap above it I went foward and pogod on her a few times

This was mentioned in a different video by Technovoid in his Charm Ranking and Analysis video, but here's one that I think is good due to personal experience: be *very* sparing with the Steady Body charm. It may eliminate your recoil, but on repeat playthroughs, it becomes a bit more of a struggle to re-learn knockback physics. It may come in handy if you're on a tiny platform and don't want to fall down into the pool of acid below, but make sure you at least practice without the charm so you're not blindsighted on a replay.

Being someone who’s played Hollow Knight over and over and over, I can surely say that one bit of advice that I have for new players is:
Don’t be afraid to explore and don’t rush the story. The story is amazing and the gameplay is a match made in heaven as well, don’t be afraid to go around and find things for yourself, and when you do find something, remember it, because it may remind you of something later! I hope any new players have as much fun as I did when playing Hollow Knight, good luck!
Except if you're going for the 5 hour speedrun archievement, in that one you have to plan the route and go Sonic the freaking Hedgehog if you wanna make it on time ;v;
@@colbyboucher6391 you can just fight The Collector and get the locations of the Grubs on your map, also you can just set up a Dream Gate to fast travel or just use the Stag or Tram. Also there's a lot of shortcuts everywhere to get to areas quicker.

The problem with the story in Hollow Knight is that 1.) 90% of the lore is delivered in what seems like cryptic riddles, and 2.) dialogue beyond the last sentence that NPC spoke (and Zote's mountain of precepts

I practice on nkg for 150 times and still i couldnt beat it but damn it made all the other bosses easier when i face them i did kingdoms edge hornet 4 times after practicing with nkg

You get a lot calmer once you put 50 hours into the game.
Then you can strategize how you want to use your soul bar.
Generally having more health makes it a lot more calming...
There's that point where you don't really care about like 3 damage on your way to a bench and you'd rather use that soul for some spells to speed up progress
