Yes, they should take refresher Courses and learn from The UK Soap Writers who don't think twice about doing Storylines. Homoseuxality, Lesbianism, Transgenderism, Down's Syndrome, Drug Addiction, and Mercy Killing. On Emmerdale that debuted in 1972, they have a Real Life FTM Actror named Matty, and an Actor who has Cerebal Palsy in Real Life. The most successful have been Men. In fact Daran Little who wrote for Coronation Street and Eastenders worked on All My Children. Mal Young who currently works on The Young & The Restless has gotten his feet wet on UK Soaps like Brookside (The First Soap that had a Same Sex Kiss with Beth & her Girlfriend Margaret). He also oversaw productions on Eastenders. I'm sure that to go from writing for UK Soaps to US Soaps was quite surreal. They are as different a Night & Day.
@citydweller99 you gonna be surprised but I kinda agree in terms of how Marland with both GL and ATWT created his own families then tried to attach legacy families and when that didn't work, wrote out the legacy families (Stewarts on ATWT and began the Bauer draw down on GL ) Now Marland did craft stories but in terms of the structure of the show, he had his own agenda and that's never good even if you are Douglas Marland
Isn't it a hoot. John Wesley Shipp played Dr. Kelly Nelson then worked on One Life To Live and Jessica Leccia would be on Guiding Light 2007-2009 and they reunite on One Life To Live.
remember when complex evil Roger Thrope returned to Springfeild(with an avacado on his face (calling himself "Adam") he wasn't paying a touching tribute to his father I think.(knowing that he had a miserable childhood)

So naive. I guess Alan did try to change for her. I didn't know Elizabeth was still around at this point. I wonder how much longer Lainie will be there. She seems to have just taken over the role Mike's old secretary Ann Jeffers once had. Lots of hospital focus, which is nice. Jennifer sabotaging her case over and over is a neat twist.

GL was the best in the 70's and 80's.

I think Katie was better off with Mark Hamilton. He was a bit of a cad, but at least he wasn't a bottom-feeding extortionist.
