I worked for a food bank for 2 years before the pandemic. I knew people who worked 3 jobs and still not have enough for their family. This situation is just getting worse. It is sad that people think you are not working hard enough.

This has been happening since before CoViD. CoViD just made it worse and more pronounced.

It's insane seeing how these two want to dance around the word "poor" like it's a stigma. "I don't see poor; I see hard working families.." You can be working your ass off and still be poor. Look at migrant labour, look at sweatshop workers in Bangladesh; are they lazy? That woman is working 75 hours a week to make a decent living; what about that isn't poverty? American's need to stop seeing poverty as some mark against an individual and see it as symptomatic of an economic system that exploits the most vulnerable to a point where they feel prideful of spending most of their lives doing inane work.

Wow, she said 75hrs a week without the audio equivalent of blinking an eye. There is something seriously wrong with America.

It boggles the mind that this is happening in the wealthiest country on earth. And that there are people who actively fight to keep it this way. Heart breaking for that family

This is happening in the "richest" country in the world. Something is fundamentally wrong

75 hours a week. Australians need 3 weeks to do that.

There's so much stigma around being poor in the US. That they felt the need to deny their poverty and imply that hardworking parents can't still be poor...
