Aiken is an Equestrian 🐎 town, every year they hold the Triple Crown. You have a lot of retirees here. The cost of living inside the city limits is higher than if you live in the county. I live in North Augusta in Aiken County but I'm on the border of North Augusta and Augusta Georgia....I've been here for 55 yrs and I love it. Living on the border of 2 states brings you more opportunities in every aspect of your life....

Great trip through Aiken. Your videos are some of the best on TH-cam because you avoid weird music and jabbering all the time.........nice work Mike.

This is the best video I've seen going through Aiken. I want to retire here. Surprisingly, I didn't hear one horn yet. Oh wait, I'm confusing Aiken with the very impatient people of NYC.

Another nice video Milage Mike! Well done as always, like how you just let the natural sounds of the road and your blinker.. an occasional bird tweets, it's soothing. I wonder how many people noticed the bumper sticker at 10:00 lol I actually have a couple acres in Aiken SC. Hoping to retire there someday soon!

How’s this area ? I hate to ask but I’d like to be safe with my family. Are ppl nice there and not prejudice about different races or interracial couples?

Its slowly getting modernized and fixed up, its always been cute but I for one an grateful for those who buys here fixes it up or open small businesses without trying to make it metrocity.

I live in New York haven't been home since I was 13. In your video you by my old school where it use to be, UPS used to be the Post Office, Auto Zone was a grocery store can't remember the name I use to live on Pendleton SW I was hoping you drove by I heard it's an old folks home now. You drove by First Baptist church I used to go to Friendship Baptist Brooks Funeral Home. This all from the early 80's hell the Fridge worked for my aunt before he played with the Bears. Funny how things change but stay the same. Wow old movie theater. I saw the Blues Brothers a Superman movie and the Empire Strikes Back in there.

True indeed. Not too much changes in a lot of these small southern towns.

I hate that they closed cinema 3 and mark 2 down, they were a part of my childhood

@@NatHenrickClarke I can't remember which theater was which. In this thumbnail what their calling "Downtown" when I was kid we call it "Uptown". This looks like the front of it cause back in the 80s the greyhound stop was in front of the Chinese restaurant (nice spot if you either ate there.) Around the corner and I think walk two blocks down in the on the other side of the street was one movie theater. Thats where I saw Superman and Star Wars then there was the other movie theater. Closest place to it that comes to mind and it not real close is the Smith Hazel rec center not to far from Union St. I think I'm right let me know if any of this sounds right. Have a great day!!!
