Hope you enjoyed our first episode of Travel Season! We'll be back next week with our second episode where we explore spicy food in Korean cuisine, eating increasingly hotter foods for 24 hours!
Didn’t really, thanks for asking though! 😊
Hope this ends up on the revive dead shows poll so everyone can avoid it
Yes! Here for the food content ❤
Proud of you guys for making content you love. Please ignore bitter people, there are many who love y'all's content and personalities. Can't wait for WWW!
@@T.FlorenzAh yes ignore everyone that felt betrayed, they are just "bitter". *Classic.*
(This is what @T.Florenz does in every comment section, saying anything and everything to defend watcher like they are paid to do so)
I really like the new format, however I do have one critique about it. I really do miss interviews with chefs/owners that are responsible for preparation of food. A short small interview to describe the place, the food, etc would be a nice thing to have.
I agree! It always makes these places feel more human ❤
No wonder something felt missing lol
They do interviews with chefs/owners in the other travel season episodes
Yes, this!!
True!
Some of the things I loved the most about “Worth It” are not present in travel season… Listening to the chefs/owners, having Andrew and Steven comment on the food and what they like about it… I also find the voice overs on the b-rolls a bit too much. Would love to listen to Andrew and Steven talk to each other more, let their dynamic shine through. So far, Travel Season has a lot of potential but doesn’t seem to use it to its best… Let’s see how the next episodes go!
I've seen a bunch of people saying that we'll get more of the chefs in the other episodes! 😊
I think they were going with the Anthony Bourdain No Reservations format, doesn’t seem to work so well based on the comments
the voice overs are bad
The food was the star/ theme of the episode, but the hosts never described any of the meals in any detail at all. Am I confused about the point of the show? Andrew had a corn latte, something that I (an American) had never heard of before and was very intrigued by, and he DIDN'T GIVE A SINGLE COMMENT ON IT! Was it good? Was it bad? Who knows! Certainly not the audience because he drank it and didn't say anything about the taste, flavors, or the combo of coffee and corn. I... what??
Exactly what is the point of the show?
@@addy5572i don’t think that’s the point he was making. This show can’t do things that buzFeed did for obvious reasons. But buzzfeed doesn’t have a patent on describing the food they’re eating, like they used to do on their worth it show. It seems like they’re unable to recreate the scripting, audio and production that buzzfeed used to provide. I’m thinking that they’re taking more of a center role and it’s kind of wearing them thin, because even their energy isn’t what it was from worth it
i know whats the point of this show... we all know...
In a past interview, they mentioned that when they don’t really touch on an item they ate or drank, they didn’t like it. They don’t want to openly come out and say they don’t like it, because that’s rude. Especially, since liking food and drink can be very personal and unique to everyone. Just my thoughts!
@@hollyalldridge9144 thank you for your comment and perspective! However, in my opinion, not commenting on several dishes in a food/travel show is simply not practical. Like, that's sweet of them, but how the food tastes is a big part of a food show, good or bad. And even if they don't like it, they can still describe the dish in a neutral way, i.e. 'the corn was flavor was sweet, and very strong'. The show seems to be more about Steven and Andrew themselves, and less about food/travel, which isn't what I'm looking for in a show of this genre. But I also have not seen ep 2 yet.
I love the cinematography. But I feel like the show as a whole is missing things. I wished there was more input from the locals, either through more interviews with the chef or staff, or maybe have a local share the meal with you. Also the commentary when you try the food doesn’t give much context to the flavors that are going on with the dish. I noticed Worth It and other food shows have the same issue. Not everyone is going to understand American metaphors and references.
I have mixed feelings about the narration route. It feels like the personality is sucked out of the show if that makes sense… because you’re reading from a well-written script. I don’t feel immersed but that could just be my personal preference. A vlog style travel show makes it feel like I’m there traveling with friends.
A great reference for a travel show is Conan O’brian’s. He interacts with locals so well and showcases the country’s culture in a very authentic way. It’s less cinematic but it feels real, not like I’m watching through a filtered lens.
Emma chamberlain’s recent vlogs have a great mix of cinematography and personality. Even though she’s obviously super rich and is at the most elite events, she gives off “normal person” if that makes sense.
Traveling is already too expensive as is. I don’t think it’s a great idea to make traveling seem more luxurious and unattainable with fancy cinematography and disconnected narration. I think if this show were to be successful, it needs a better balance of personality and cinematography.
Video idea: Steve and Andrew eat a multi course dinner in a haunted house
the deleted my comments on IG for this idea not the dinner thing but Steven Lim did say i wanted to go to a Haunted House with Shane and Ryan
He and Andrew eat meanwhile Shane and Ryan ghost hunt. Dinner and a show
Why do yall feel the need to make suggestions? Just appreciate their content
@@fineacorn it’s fun to speculate. Just like it’s fun to watch. The joy of imagination
@@DJ-iu5bb Steve, Andrew, Adam, Shane and Ryan all go
Love the focus on smaller and unique places in Korea, clearly not trying to eat the most expensive things in Korea, but a wide variety of different things regardless of price. Can't wait for the rest of this season!
Glad you liked the new direction
I loved the Worth it series and I had really high hopes on this show. I know you guys are probably still figuring things out, but I felt like this could've been more focused on the food and the chefs. It also feels weirdly scripted with the voiceover parts which I felt were maybe unnecessary? To be honest, it sounded like you guys were bored on the voiceovers. The stuff you guys say on the spot and in the moment are still more engaging to me. Still though, its nice to see a progression on this format and hopefully things get hammered out in the future.
For everyone wondering (and there seems to be a lot of you) they are using Kodak Ektar H35 film camera. They just hid all of the logos.
I love Adam's direction and camera style! we saw it on Food Files too, but I'm enjoying getting even more of it with this series!
The moment the video started, I was already thinking, "This is so gorgeous!"
Oh so this is Adam’s fault. Gotcha. I was wondering why they made a video with no info and just disjointed “artsy” visuals.
is this what it's like to have two friends date, break up, move to different continents, and then unexpectedly get back together???
I LOVE THE INTRO SM. The more artistic and "aesthetic" videography is so wonderful to see. So glad to see the worth it gang back at it !
My dad was a long time Worth It fan, loved to watch the episodes with my mom. Sometimes it inspired him to make/try food - the poke episode singlehandedly changed our brain chemistry and we started looking for poke restaurants (Big fans! We even make our own DIY poke bowls at home.) He was excited to hear that a similar format with the crew is back. Can't wait to see more from y'all!
Im not the only one missong the worth it format, am i?
Like the interviews, the enthusiasm, the dorkiness
This has become more if a documentary than a fun show
I like the episode but i miss my three musketeers.....im sorry but i really do. No hate to this video....maybe a critique as I've been watching worth it since it's beginning. I miss the dorks, the fun, the randomness, the behind the scenes, interviews with the ppl in the restaurant making the restaurant and its dishes....
I might be complaining too much, but i hope theres someone who understands what im saying here
If not, please feel free to tell me otherwise
I love that they're back....and I'd take it in any way they are arranging for it🥺😭💙✨
Completely agree.
Agree 100% i miss it too plus there was also rie and inga too so yeah
FINALLY!!! Thank god you guys are back!!! Love this !!!!
i missed you guys and now its not just buzzfeed it feels like an actual doc i love it
This series seems like it was recorded last winter, while I was still in Korea to finish my undergraduate degree. I've been an avid fan of Worth It from their season 1. To think that I was in the same country where my favorite show was made is wonderful. What's more, I get to relive my memory of South Korea, which I am so fond of ❤❤❤
Hey, casually "watcher" here. I am really glad that you guys are keeping shows on TH-cam and clarified the plans for your streaming site. Regardless of how the internet reacted, I feel your hearts are in the right place and you just want to keep making content that is both fun to create, and fun to watch. Can't wait for all the new seasons and shows. Keep up the good work, gang!
Thanks for watching- we hope you enjoy it!
@@watcher Great video! Similar to your other former buzzfeed shows, you have made this one distinctly your own.
I hate how mad some people still are.
Most don't know how expensive it is to make content like this.
Agreed!
@@luvely1062 ppl arent mad just bc of the cost. they went about this badly until people said stuff n they listened
Like what I am seeing so far, keep up the good work! Love the intro theme song :) Also, the photography style choice takes me back...
this makes me so very happy !!! one of my favourite series
In regards to the comments about including the chefs & restaurant owners, I don’t fully agree because I really enjoy the coziness of the new videos as is and I feel like these videos are a better reflection of how it feels to share a meal with friends. A lot of people wanna just go out to eat and come home without the burden of socializing with new people (let alone the owner of the restaurants LOL). BUT, you could do separate videos/specials where you deep dive into specific restaurants and give the restaurant owners the opportunity to share their mission and journey if that’s what they want. It’ll give some viewers what they are looking for, and separate videos will be a better way of uplifting small businesses :)
Love your thoughts and energy. Please show the name of the scenes between restaurants. Also, the name and location of the restaurant, cafe, etc. would be appreciated.
So happy to see y'all back together!... Hopefully we get to see Inga's cameo here and there as well. Love seeing the dynamic of Steven + Adam + Andrew + Inga.
That was excellent. So great to see Andrew and Steven and Adam back for more restaurant videos, with an interesting and enjoyable new spin. Looking forward to the season.
Ive been a fan of Worth It since 2018, and have watched it till its finale on ATE. So many call backs, Steven putting to much sauce/underestimating spice, Andrew being intrigued by the seemingly “weird” pieces in the process/eating experience (handmade spoon), and of course Adam coming in for his famous one biters.
Heck even Annie is still with the crew.
Can’t wait for the rest of the show.
Whoo, Annie shout out! She's incredible
I missed Andrew and his thoughtfulness about the way food is prepared. Love the boys!
Yup, this is what I missed
I miss the old format! Less formal, casual, interviews, comments on the food, fun facts!
love love love these videos. Worth it was my comfort show on TH-cam and this just feels like the grown up version ❤ what camera are you guys using? Would love to get a digital/film style camera like that for myself
SO happy to see you guys back! Love the episodes so far ❤
THEY ARE BACKKKKKKK !!!!!!!!!!!
I even loved the new theme song!! Thank you so much for bringing this show to life!
So excited the crew is back together and I love the new direction ❤️ Excited to watch the rest of the series!!!!
I love it! Always good to see these 3!
LETS GOOOOO been waiting for this!!! steven and andrew are one of my fave duos, so much nostalgia when i see them both with some food
I've been watching worth it for the longest time! When I was still in school me and my mom would watch ALL of the videos made of it 😆 I've always loved Steven, Andrews, and Adam's dynamic so much, and am so excited to see the beginning Travel Season and where it goes! It looks great so far :D loving all the watcher personalities
Thanks for being an OG! Hope you like the new direction for Travel Season!
Am so happy you guys are back 😊😊😊
Amazing *chef kiss* great job guys!
Their old show is one of my comfort shows. This will easily replace it! Love the brick! The old-style film is so nostalgic. Love the side quests and having Adam, Andrew, and Steven back together. Also, Travel Wishes are fantastic. It's so pure and relatable.
Always nice to see Watcher!
Guys, such a good intro. Excited for the rest of this series, but especially excited for WWW to come back 🎉🥸
I just watched a cut of an upcoming episode and it's unhinged. Hope you like it! - Katie
Love the b-roll.❤❤ yum 😊
Andrew and Steven are so funny together.
Im so glad you guys are back!!
Love this show! Love the guys! And all the love to Steven!
I love this style of filming!
I’m so excited to see Steven Andrew and Adam eat food again 😂 Love the format of the show so far!
So fun… You guys did a great job… Makes me want to eat and travel… Florida girl😊
I missed this so so so so much and it means so much to me that this show is being made 😭💕 This is the whole reason why I'm here. Keep it up guys!
Hey team, I am so happy for y'all finding your balance amidst everything....Demm the production is sick, the intro is sick....the direction is awesome.... though I stand here as an average broke yt Watcher but I gotta say... the effort is not unseen... it is kinda inspiring seeing you guys figuring it out.. All the best and all the love nd support.. Hella excited for everything tbh!!!🤩🤩🤩 All hail the watcher😜
We so appreciate you!! Hope you enjoy the show!
Was this written by the watcher team lol
@@rhododendroz6802Almost certainly. 😂
I really love the addition of the film photos!
You're back!!!!!!! Did not know till just now!
12:40 that crunch is INSANE. Great watch, love Steven and Andrew combo! more please~
Super excited to see this style series return! Really enjoy watching you two, and Adam too! If I had to make a couple suggestions or critiques, I'd say... Whenever possible, bring back the interviews with chefs and/or owners of the establishments. That was always a great peak into how each unique well-oiled machine runs. Second, I think you guys could do away with most of the voice over (it sounded as though I was being read to, and didn't come across as natural). Instead, maybe in an open discussion style before you eat or while waiting for the food or something along those lines, you could talk about the foods the establishment is most known for along with what foods you'll specifically be trying.
Love the comeback!!! Does anyone know what is the camera they are using? Loved the vintage look
Loved watching the series so far on Watcher tv. Excited for the TH-cam audience to see. I love the spotlight it gives to local business and culture, this series has a lot of heart.
Wow, the intro caught me off guard 😍
So glad to have you guys back doing this kind of show!
Great episode! Looking forward to more of this series.
This was fantastic. It was wonderful to see the group back together again, eating delicious foods and exploring interesting places. Looking forward to the rest!
this was a beautiful, cinematic, and thoughtful way to showcase the creative approaches to chicken you encountered. I very much enjoyed 10/10 >>
love that there are more food spots in the new show. would really love to hear which was each host's favourite and why though! i did really enjoy that about Worth It.
Wow just wow what a great video I loved it ❤❤ 😊
I've never gotten so hungry watching these guys eat until this episode. Everything looked delish! Looking forward for this season.
i think people forget, they arent working with buzzfeed money here. budgets are not the same. the amount of crew is not the same. they dont have the same number of cameras and gear as they used to have. they have only so much time and money to spend on these episodes.
either way, what they have here is fine. im not picky about "voice overs" or other complaints that people have by comparing this to buzzfeeds version. it is what it is. we are lucky to even have these 2 back together. you can either have this or nothing at all. i rather have them together in any format.
So happy to see you guys again!
The jazzy photo montage travel show title opener was so cute! I love the artsy style!
Also yay! Welcome back! I love this show! ❤
I’m super excited to see more episodes! Couldn’t be more thrilled to see you guys together again 💗
Thanks for sharing and for the subs.
Im so excited to see you trio again! A lot different from what im used to. I love the cinematography but lacking in essense overall. its like you guys are bored that makes the video dull. Still love to see you back
excited for the show and all the new episodes coming up!!
Aw love the intro, very sitcom-like 🥰
Loved this! Though I can see many commenting on how they love the old format with chefs explaining how the food is made (I do too), I feel this upgrade is needed to grow further
Never been more excited to see you guys back together again 😄
So glad you guys didn't leave TH-cam
I miss "Watch It" more than I imagined. The banter between Andrew, Stephen and Adam was usually so fun to watch. I miss the conversations with the people who actually make the food but while the content is different, it's fun. Thanks!!
Hey guys, I know you had a mistep as a channel/studio, but This was really good, I do hope we get more of the chef/store owner/ shop owner's voice on the matter of the meals. I really missed andrew (and adam) and the banter between the two hosts in Worth It. I hope you guys just keep going despite the misstep and I wish you guys all the luck.
Been watching this show on the Watcher platform and it’s a real treat. Imagine Worth It but expanded out to touch on culture a little more. It really is a great show, I hope folks give it a chance. Planning on watching the finale tonight but I already can’t wait for the next season! Keep up the good work! 😄
Great to hear you loved the more culture-forward approach! We're excited about it too!
Glad you’re all back! I’ll keep following you here, but wishing you the best with your paid platform. I might even join for a few months to support, as I keep jumping streaming services nowadays anyway 🤷♂️
Thanks! We're just happy you're here!
They had pateron but decided to double dip. Don't support that.
I genuinely enjoyed this
show feels like I'm in on how they would be eating when not filming, if it makes sense lol! I love it so far.
We Always appreciate you guys! You Feed us very well😊
Finally, the boys are back in (korea)town. The production value on this is insane❤
So happy to see this crew back together!
we love food content, welcome back steve, andrew and adam !!
can’t believe I missed this for 6 days! it’s so delightful, I love the whole show. makes me want to travel more
Really enjoying watching this ^^ it’s a bit more of a relaxing watch to me which I like.
I could watch you guys forever. It’s like The Odd Couple, only there’s really good food and you let the crew get some, too.
I missed this team- Steve and Andrew and Adam. So glad to see them after so long! ❤
Man, i really loved the new concept of the show, trying to stay loyal to the whole "worth it" show idea with new ideas. But I miss the Steven, Andrew and Adam talking to the camera time/moments you know?? It's like they were talking to the audience. But fantastic first episode guys!! Great Work!!
andrew in that black turtle neck got me acting unwise
Should we tell him to wear it more often then? lol
@@watcher if he'd be so kind 🥰 for the gays, lol
YES!! IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THE TRIO TO RETURN!!!!
Im super happy about getting the food/travel show back! The voiceovers seem a lil unauthentic, and i miss the descriptions of the taste and what the meal is like, and i wish there were more interviews with chefs. I like that you had someone as your cultural tour guide, and the lil detours to other things like the latte and the salt bun thing. Im glad you are doing shows together again and the format is nice but i miss the easygoing friendliness of the old show! Its aesthetically pleasing but i liked the fun facts and getting the crew involved and them getting to enjoy the meals too! 💜
What an amazing epicurean episode. Amazingly beautiful, from the food, the narration, the pictures and even the color scheme of the entire video. Thank you for this wonderful content!
yayyyy so good!!!
i have a korean friend that told me that there are 3 gods in south korea, Kim Yuna, Yoo Jaesuk and fried chicken.
its always a treat to see both of them
Congratulations on launching!
It's a wonderful episode from the most incredible of seasons and I'm so glad it's out there for everyone to see!
Beautiful job, all! Anthony Bourdain would be proud. I love The Brick; it's like a new cast member :) And the photos are a great touch. It's not like whipping out your phone, clicking a thousand times, and endlessly scrolling to find the perfect, post-able pic. It speaks to your message about reminding yourself to be present in your experiences when you travel. Excited to see Andrew's souvenir choice in each episode!
It seems like this series places a big emphasis on travel and enjoying the cultural significance of the food rather than on the restaurant or a specific dish. I really enjoyed watching some familiar faces in new ways! Can't wait for the next episode.
yaaaaay food content!! :D
i'm an og buzzfeed fan so maybe biased but i loved them then and i love this style so much more 😌 can't wait for the rest of this season
This episode was so great! It really felt like we got to experience a lot of the culture in Seoul, and I actually enjoyed this more than Worth It. Looking forward to the subsequent episodes. Now I have to eat dinner because this made me so hungry.
