1.) While God will help those that come to him and ask for his assistance that is in harmony with his will. It doesn't mean that we do absolutely nothing in return. Let's say we are out of a job and want to find a job. We pray to God, but then decide since God is gonna handle the matter fully we don't actively seek employment. Thinking that prayer and faith alone will be all that is needed. Well you would be wrong if you actually believe that. You have to take action in harmony with your prayer. Trusting that God would help you find a job by blessing your effort to find work.
Christ helped us out where we couldn't help ourselves which was being in a position to save ourselves. No one could do that for themselves let alone for all mankind that is why Christ had to help us. But it doesn't mean that we just pray and believe then the help will come by magic. Where a person would just come to our door saying I know that you need a job and I am here to offer you a job. Where you didn't have to do anything at all to seek employment. That doesn't happen, instead you must first pray then take action by looking for a job.
      2. ) Dressing properly for church isn't bad at all and it makes sense. That is unless you are saying that you would appear before a president of a country dressed like you just came from a hard days work smelling like you didn't even shower before going there. Hair out of place, where your appearance is a mess. I don't think anyone would appear before such a world leader or a king in that fashion. No they would put on their best clothes and make sure that they have bathed before going before a president, king, etc... At church you are going to appear before the Almighty God. Even though God doesn't make a fleshly body and appear at your church it still is if you are going there to see God. Otherwise you would dress in anyway you wish, which may not be fitting to appear before God in that manner. Dressing in a way that shows respect toward God much like a person would do the same for any world leader.
4..) There is one day that in my religion that is special and is celebrated every year. It is the day that Christ told Christians to celebrate it. Although many choose to celebrate it on either a different day than my religion or even more often than once a year. Even celebrating it daily as some do. That day is the memorial of Christ's death. It is something that even Christ himself commands his followers to celebrate it. He gives definite instructions which is using unleavened bread and a wine. There is a day that Christ celebrated it that is also important. Since he instituted it just after he finished celebrating the last Passover that he would celebrate with his apostles Nisan 14. My religion only celebrates the Memorial of Christ's death on that day in the same manner that he had instituted it.

      5) The bible is a book that takes man from where he is now to that promised kingdom if the reader wants to be in that kingdom to worship God for eternity. That means that all that is needed to be in the bible is the instruction that would make that possible, which the bible contains.
7.) Having a building to meet for worship is important and you would want to make sure that such a building is maintained properly. It always looks nice and clean.
9.) Purgatory was created by the Catholic church because of the fact that you had both heaven and hell. It was in answer to people that asked what happens if a person is not good enough to go to heaven after they die but not so bad that they deserve hell. Then is when purgatory was created as a way to answer that question. It was based off of the false teachings of immortality of the human soul,, a fiery hell, all good people go to heaven and all bad people go to hell. None of those four are supported by the bible.
The thief on the cross (Stake, Stauros Greek) was not in paradise with Christ on that day. The reason why I know that teaching is false is because Christ wasn't in heaven on the day he died. He was in the ground like everyone else. That thief would have to wait till Christ was resurrected and ascended back into heaven if it were to be with Christ in heaven even after around 40+ days. That thief was told by Christ on that very day that he would in the future be with Christ in paradise. Instead of being with Christ on that very day. That means that the thief will be resurrected to be with Christ in paradise on the earth.

10.) I understand the idea of confession to a pastor or priest. But there could be times when a Christian needs to seek the spiritual assistance of the elders of the church. Even telling them of the sins that they have committed. Then as the spiritual doctors they would pray about the matter and give that Christian the needed discipline in order to bring them back into God's favor and restore their relationship with God. it is not the same as confessional. James 5:14-15. Confessing sins to an elder is not seen as confessing to an intermediary. Instead it is part of that role they play as spiritual doctors. Just like when you go to the doctor when you are physically sick the elders do the same only for spiritual matters.

Have you not noticed the world..yes the outside does represent the inside. Why lie? It's the devil..

    • @dannyjackson5189
      @dannyjackson5189 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

The premise: every thing about Christianity is found using the Bible is false. There is no scripture for the false premise. It's written in
1 Timothy 3:15 The church of the living God is THE PILLAR AND THE GROUND OF THE TRUTH.
Now because you've been lied to for so long a time and told that sola scriptura was the truth you're going to ignore that scripture or say it means something else. There is not a scripture that says there will be a Bible and you are you are to only do what( you think) is written therein .
Sinners came to John the Baptist confessing their sins.
In Matt 18:17 Jesus says: take it to the Church and if he shall neglect to hear the Church let him be unto thee aa a publican. In vs 18 Jesus says verily verily I say to you what ever you bind on earth will be bound in earth shall bound in heaven.
In John 20:23 Jesus tells the apostles that if they remit anyone's there sins will be remitted and if the y retain the sins of any they will be retained. He didn't say go read the book that will be established 400 years from now. The Jews carried the bones of their saints with them and when a body was placed on the bones of the prophet in the old testament the dead revived.
What is being taught here is anti Church materialism, an irreverent attitude tword the thing and people of God all of which are holy; a prove it by the letter; which killeth, or it doesn't exist trope, which has lead the western nations down a path to atheism.
You're telling people that Pasca is unimportant when Jesus is the passover.
God is not more foolish thst the founding fathers of the US who produced it's constitution. They didn't leave a document and say everyone is totally qualified to interpret it and everyone can figure it in his own way. They built government and within that framework a supreme court to use the précédente of law within the context of America culture to establish the constitutionality of supposed laws.
Jesus said upon this rock I shall build my church and thst gates of hell SHALL NOT PREVAIL AGAINST IT. The tradition of the church which includes the holy scriptures has been passed down for generations from bishop to bishop through all the world up until this present day,
What you're doing here, prehaps without malicious intent is to deny the Holy Spirits role in the life of the visible church, as though the Holy Spirit played no part in the lives of the saints , the ecumenical councils, and the life of the visible church, when Jesus told them that were ordained by himself and given power on the day of pentecost and athority, to ordain others that followed an took over their offices and responsibilities just as Moses chose Joshua before all of Isreal.
No there is no EMPHASIS on confession to your own self..in the early church members confessions were to the entire polity.
Why did God build a earthly church? So pridefull persons would not not put literature in the place of the living Holy Spirit.
The premise: just use the Bible is wrong. The Westbrook Baptist church and pastor Steven Anderson can read just as well as the guy making this video. They believe they are just as righteous as the thousands of other protastant Bible readers.
Heapin up teachers having itching ears..
Look how many of the post here react to this misguided video.
The visible church is The Holy Orthodox Church it is catholic but not Roman, it's not denominational it's pre denominational. It is apostolic not just some guys guessing at scripture, it's ancient and spiritually correct. An unbroken line all the way back to the apostles. It's not from the 1500s or 1600s or the 1900s or last week.
      Google it .
Or explain how you are different from Pastor Steven Anderson or Ellen G White.

6:26 No, the reason the early Christians gathered in homes was due to the fact that no Churches were yet established and that they were persecuted by the pharisees. It was certainly not the ideal state of Christianity and it also contradicts Exodus, where God literally prescribed in extreme detail how to build the tabernacle, dedicated to him.

    2 Corinthians 9:7 (NIV)
“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” Bible verses about giving tell us to be “cheerful” when we give and not to do so reluctantly.

    “You forgot a very common false teaching ;
    • Hell is a place of eternal suffering for the wicked (Malachi 4:1; John 3:16 contradicts that)
    • When a believer dies, they go immediately to heaven. (That’s wrong : All dead people are unconscious, waiting for the resurrection at the second coming ; Ecclesiastes 9:5)
    • Eating pork and unclean meat is acceptable.
(That’s wrong, Jesus never ate pork or unclean meat and never taught the disciples to do so)

Fulfill doesn’t mean abolish. Jesus kept the law perfectly and said: ‘For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.’ (This refers to the second coming of Jesus and the establishment of God’s Kingdom.)

      • Both those verses never contradicts that statement. Matthew 25:46 states that "And these will go off to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."
      • The church never state that all believers go to heaven. It depends on the state of a person's soul. But here is a passage that states a person can go immediately to heaven. Luke 23:43
Jesus said to the repentant thief on the cross:
“Amen, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”
      •Mark 7:18-19:
“Do you not realize that everything that goes into a person from outside cannot defile, since it enters not the heart but the stomach and passes out into the latrine?” (Thus he declared all foods clean.)

    • @Azyo62
      @Azyo62 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @
There were no commas in Ancient Greek. Jesus replied to him, “Truly I tell you today, you will be with me in paradise.” This is a writing error.

    • @Azyo62
      @Azyo62 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @
Punishment is not eternal torture; it’s eternal in its consequences. The Bible says the fire that destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah was eternal. Are those cities still burning right now? No. The Bible contradicts the idea of eternal torture. “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away” (Revelation 21:4).
Read Malachi 4:1: Satan (the root) and his followers (the branches) will be destroyed! And John 3:16 says:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish (not burn in hell forever) but have eternal life.”
If the punishment for sin was to burn in hell forever, then Jesus would have been burning there forever!

During 5, I agree with the false belief you are correcting, but at the same time you change the wording of 1 Tim 3 to say something it does not say. YOU SAY: The Bible is complete for teaching, correcting and guidance; THE BIBLE SAYS: that Scripture is helpful to make the man of God complete. You say "It contains the necessary revelation," but it doesn't say that. These teachings can be true, but if so they are still extra-biblical.

The curse of The Law is death. Which is how Messiah became a curse for us (through his death). Though poverty is a curse it’s not The curse of the Law. Curses like poverty come about from sin (disobeying the Law). (Deuteronomy 11:26-29, Deuteronomy 28, 1 John 3:4-6).

@ Jesus said a severe beating for those that know what is right and do wrong and a light beating for those that do wrong but don’t know. Where do they get beaten? It’s been named as Purgatory which is a form of prison. Luke 12 verses 41 through 48. I believe what Jesus said, and don’t believe that those in Heaven get beaten.

    • @andythernda
      @andythernda 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@jimo-tx6385 You are interpreting it too literally. Jesus is not saying there will be guaranteed punishment in the afterlife for those who do not know, He is providing a juxtaposition to hold servants of the Lord to a higher standard, else the metaphor would fall apart because why would a servant (on earth) who does something wrong not face at least a little bit of punishment? Would you imply that Jesus' sacrifice was not enough to make souls pure? Need I remind you of Luke 23:43 "And He said to him, "truly I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise." Today implies instantaneous communion with God, no purgatory involved.

@ The criminal crucified with Jesus avoided Purgatory by testifying to Jesus as the Christ and is an exception. Nothing imperfect may enter Heaven. Jesus paid the fine, but our actions good and bad are judged. Baptism is not a rubber stamp to get into Heaven because if it were then there is no judgement necessary.

    • @jimo-tx6385
      @jimo-tx6385 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@andythernda Jesus was specifically talking to the criminal being saved and not everyone; whereas the 3rd and 4th servants that were beaten are spoken of generally. Even declared Saints, Pope John Paul II, have spent time in purgatory for actions in their youth. You have no need for a funeral if you don’t believe in Purgatory or praying for the dead (2 Maccabee’s 12 verses 38 through 46).

  • @John_Fisher
    @John_Fisher 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

Regarding 9, I don't think that anyone, including Catholics, teach that purgatory is a necessary state; there is a recognition that it is possible for God to finish purifying you prior to the end of life. But notice that the cited verse, Hebrews 10:14, does recognize that even those who have been saved are still in the process of *being sanctified* and we know that we will not enter into Heaven without God completing this process; for those of us who aren't finished becoming sanctified by the end of this life, God will have to complete it then because we will not enter into his presence unsanctified (Revelation 21:27).

Good video but the fact that we are the church doesn't mean that the church auditorium is not sacred and holy to God.
Anything dedicated to God is holy and that's including the physical church buildings.
Robbers came to a church building to steal and somehow the power of God held them there until people came the next morning. If the church building is not a holy place they would have stolen everything and left.
Children of God must hold church buildings and sanctify them to God.

I love that you pointed out the Bible is not an exhaustive collection of everything God has ever done. I have used this point many times; if all that Christ did in 3 years of ministry (or even His entire 33 years from birth to crucifixion to resurrection would fill the world; what would God’s deed from creation to Christ to John writing Revelation do? Fill our galaxy, the universe?
Specifically, I point this out when people say the two witnesses in Revelation must, absolutely has to be, Enoch and Elijah as those two are the only ones to never die. Really? Are you certain of that fact? God can do whatever He desires to do. Paul states in 1 Corinthians 10..1-11 the things written were for an example.

Purgatory is Scriptural and is necessary for purification of the soul.

      1. Which events can only happen in a Church building?
      2. What Scriptures talk about purgatory?
3-4. Yes, He did. But that doesn't mean that confessing to them would be the only way to be forgiven. I don't know, but I think God's grace can reach those even with sickness and maladies who can't go to Church, or for some circumstance such as accidents, could not immediately go to an apostle's successor for repentance. Besides, I am a Catholic, and I have heard one must pray a certain amount of repeated prayers in order to be forgiven of such sin. This is work-based salvation, as it claims that their forgiveness of sins relies on one's ability to pray than Christ's sacrifice on the cross.

Paul also lays out the rules for modesty in 1 Timothy. This idea that outward appearance is not important is not accurate either.
Men are forbidden to wear women’s clothes, have long hair, etc. Women are told to not wear jewelry, braided hair, etc. God doesn’t condition our salvation based on our cloths. He saves us as lost sinners.
Once saved we are called to dress modestly especially when we gather. All to often I have seen women wear skin tight shirts super low cut, and tight yoga pants. Women should wear cloths. Men all to often dress like they give up. Not everyone can afford a suit or expensive cloths. They can however dress modestly and respectfully. It is more a matter of glorifying God by showing respect for yourself (the temple of the Holy Spirit) and for those you care for who gather with you. Build the body.
Generally those who rebel and wear mini skirts, and tons of make up, or muscle shirts, rocker shirts, rapper get up are not there to glorify God. They are there to draw attention to themselves and use Church gatherings for their own gain. What they are doing is plain for all to see. Yet God Is merciful and patient and his spirit actively works to transform even then hardest nut so long as they are genuine in their faith.

Another wonderful video...thank you! Some thoughts:
    1) Yes, it's united teamwork with/for our Creator together.
    2) YES! It's also another transition from Old to New Covenant where it was God's will for priests to wear specific items.
    3) YES! When baptized (e.g. a human becomes a Christian aka Saint), the Holy Spirit empowered spiritual connection to God the Father via Jesus is established.
    4) Correct, but with the first day of the week (Sunday) being the Lord's day, it's logical (and Biblically historically aligns) for the remembrance of the Lord's Supper to be together only on Sundays.
    5) Absolutely...and so important that scripture is a subset, but foundational (thus most important/valuable) subset, of God's Word.
    6) Yes...when a true Christian, the material results vary for various reasons.
    7) Right...the physical location of worship is irrelevant with Christianity.
    8) Yes...true (spiritually maturing) Christians have a range of healthy, Christ-like emotions (e.g. joy and frustration, but never extreme human hurting anger), and become aware and grow when they unintentionally don't.
    9) Correct on no purgatory. Currently, in the current heavens/earth, when a human dies their soul/spirit temporarily either go to paradise in the 3rd heaven or to Sheol/Hades.
    10) YES! Christians are in the same spiritual body with Jesus at the head. Christians should expose their current shortcomings to each other to build each other up, and individually/together grow their relationship with God via their spiritual connection with God.

The first teaching of Jesus is to live by the words of God, not to tempt God to keep His word, and to not pit one word of God against another - then you can understand God and KNOW His will. Paul said the words of God were not from God, but were a curse to Israel by lowly angels. Paul defamed God and His words of life. My church considers some sins to be much more serious and harmful than others, and when committed more serious sins require confession with required church authorities - clearly indicating the severity of the sin - and for potential church discipline, up to and including excommunication. When sins do not require confession to ecclesiastical authorities, it is between the sinner and the Savior to work out their forgiveness and cleansing, with maximum effort to make true restitution to those who were harmed because of the sinful act(s).

I agree with everything in this video, but I have to add something about the dress code. The dressing is not about worship. It’s about not being a distraction to others who are trying to worship and/or the less strong in the Lord. people when distracted will lose focus real quick. I have seen women and men come into the house of God dressed a certain way, and they became a clear distraction. Weaker saints became distracted when they should be focusing on God and not on what she or he is wearing. Also, if you’re coming before God, there should be some form of respect presented. Respect that you’ve come to worship God, and not act like you’re at the park or disco. For most people, when they know the president or a Movie Star is going to be where they are, they normally dress appropriately and we should do the same for God.

JESUS GIVES THE APOSTLES THE POWER TO FORGIVE SINS
Jesus gives priests the power to forgive sins. We read this clearly in John chapter 20.
John 20:21-23 “Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so I send you. And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them; and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained.”
Jesus says that whoever’s sins you forgive, they are forgiven; and whoever’s sins you retain (do not forgive), they are not forgiven. Nothing could be more clear. The Apostles could only determine which sins to forgive and which sins to retain if they heard a confession of sins. This passage proves that Jesus instituted confession to priests.
AS SON OF MAN, JESUS HAD POWER ON EARTH TO FORGIVE SINS AND HE CAN AND DID TRANSFER THAT POWER TO OTHERS
Even though the meaning of John 20:23 is obvious, there’s another point that must be noted in this regard. In Matthew 9:6-8, we read:
“But [Jesus saith] that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house… But when the multitudes saw it, they marveled, and glorified God, who had given such power unto men.”
Jesus was both God and man, but notice that this passage emphasizes that He had authority as the Son of man to forgive sins. Since Jesus had authority to forgive sins as the Son of man - as is also made clear in Mt. 28:18, when He says that He has been given all power in Heaven and Earth - then He can transfer that authority to others. Look at John 20:21 again:
John 20:21 “Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so I send you.”
Just as Jesus was sent as the Son of man with power on Earth to forgive sins, He sends His Apostles to dispense His forgiveness to others.
ST. PAUL SAYS THAT PRIESTS RECONCILE MEN TO GOD IN CHRIST’S PLACE
That’s why St. Paul, who was made a priest and bishop in the Church, says this:
2 Corinthians 5:18-20 “God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation… Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.”
This passage makes it clear that Jesus sends His Apostles to be the ministers of His reconciliation and forgiveness. That’s why the Church has taught that priests, in hearing confessions, stand in the place of Christ. They are not a barrier to Christ, but an avenue, a conduit of His reconciliation; just as St. Paul says: “we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.”
This is the reason that Jesus gives the Apostles the power to forgive and retain sins in John 20:23, right after sending them in John 20:21 (as His Father has sent Him).
Moreover, in the Acts of the Apostles, we read that people came and confessed their deeds.
Acts 19:17-18 “And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.”
All of this demonstrates without any doubt that Jesus instituted confession to priests.
JESUS GIVES THE APOSTLES THE POWER TO BIND AND TO LOOSE SINS
Further confirming that the Bible teaches confession to a priest, we see that the Apostles were given the power to bind and to loose in Matthew 18:18.
Matthew 18:18 “Verily I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
This has application to the forgiveness of sins, and to the fact that Jesus dispensed His authority to valid bishops and priests in His one true Church. The authority that is exercised by priests and bishops must be used under the unique authority of the Keys, which were given alone to St. Peter in Matthew 16:18-19.
IF WE CONFESS OUR SINS, HE IS FAITHFUL AND JUST TO FORGIVE US OUR SINS
1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Notice that the passage says “if” we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins. It doesn’t say that He will forgive our sins whether or not we confess our sins, or as long as we believe.
All of this proves that the Bible teaches the necessity of confession to a priest. The Catholic Church has always remained faithful to this teaching of the Bible because the Catholic Church is the one true Church of Christ.

Bible scholars do not define biblical joy as happiness on steroids but rather as a ‘theistic confidence in the future’… that’s why, in persecution, they counted it all joy that they were worthy to suffer for the name… they were not happy in the fire but they were confident in the outcome so they could endure to the end… Purgatory says the work on the cross by Jesus of Nazareth was INSUFFICIENT to infinitely pay our sin debt AND remove our sins (past, present, future) as far as the east is from the west (an infinite distance)… THAT is heresy…

    Colossians 2:16 misinterpretation:
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holy day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: which are a shadow of things to come . . ." wrote Paul in Colossians 2:16-17 (KJV). This passage is often misinterpreted. What does it really say?
Paul was combating a local heresy. False teachers had introduced their own religious philosophy, which was a blend of Jewish and gentile concepts. Their distorted ideas were founded on human "tradition" and "principles of the world," not on the Word of God. Paul warned the Colossians to "beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ" (Colossians 2:8).
These false teachers introduced their own rules and regulations for their idea of proper conduct (Col. 2:20-22). The content of Paul's warning to the Colossian church strongly indicates that these heretics were the forerunners of a major heresy that developed into gnosticism-a belief system maintaining that secret knowledge (gnosis is Greek for "knowledge," hence the term gnosticism) can enhance one's religion. Gnostics claimed to be so spiritual that they disdained virtually everything physical, regarding it as beneath them.
The false teachers in Colossae rejected the physical-the perishable things that could be touched, tasted or handled (Colossians 2:21-22) -particularly when it related to worship. Their philosophy encouraged neglect of the physical needs of the body to attain heightened spirituality. In reality, however, their self-imposed religion did nothing of the sort and accomplished nothing in combating human nature. As Paul wrote, it was of "no value against the indulgence of the flesh" (Col. 2:23).
The Christians in Colossae obeyed God. They kept His Sabbath and Holy Days, and they rejoiced on them, following biblical instruction (Deuteronomy 16:10-11, Deuteronomy 16:13-14). The heretics condemned the Colossian church for the manner in which the Colossians observed the Holy Days. Notice that they didn't challenge the days themselves. It was the physical enjoyment of them-rejoicing and feasting-that provoked the objections of these false teachers.
Notice Paul's words again: "So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding [Greek meros, meaning 'part,' or 'regarding any portion of'] a festival or a new moon or sabbath" (Colossians 2:16). Paul was telling the Colossians to ignore these heretics' judgments and criticisms about their enjoyment of the eating and drinking aspects of God's festivals.
Rather than showing disregard for the days God established as holy, Paul's comments in this passage actually confirm that the Colossian Christians-who were primarily gentiles (Colossians 2:13)-were observing the weekly Sabbath and Holy Days of God more than 30 years after Jesus Christ's death and resurrection.
Had they not been observing these days, the heretics would have had no basis for their objections to the eating and drinking aspects-the feasting portion-of the Sabbath and the Holy Days. Amen.
The world continues to prove that what is written in the Bible is the truth. Peter stated outright that Paul would be misinterpreted to their own spiritual detriment (2 Peter 3:15-16).
We are commanded to rightly divide the word of God (2 Tim. 2:15)
To God our Father and our Lord God and Savior Yeshua the Messiah be the glory! Amen.

Purgatory is not in the Bible? You cannot find the word purgatory in the Bible but neither is the word Trinity or Triune God. Scripture refers God as refiner’s fire and fuller’s soap (Mal. 3:2) - both have something to do with refining and cleansing. Zec. 13:8-9 says God put some into fire as one refines silver and test gold - the word purgatory is not mentioned but the concept is.
The reason why Protestants have problem with purgatory comes from the double imputation concept introduced by the Reformers. Through faith alone the believers got Christ’ righteousness imputed on them as if that righteousness were theirs while they remain sinners. Christ got believers’ entire sins (past, present, future) imputed on Him as if those sins were His while He remains sinless - and God punished Him for those sins and paid the penalty in full on the cross. Under this concept then purgatory will add what Christ already accomplished on the cross. But is double imputation scriptural? Eze. 18:20 flatly denies double imputation: “The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.”
Faith is counted as righteousness (Rom. 4:3) and Scripture says we lose righteousness through sinning in Eze. 33:13: “Though I say to the righteous that he shall surely live, yet if he trusts in his righteousness and does injustice, none of his righteous deeds shall be remembered, but in his injustice that he has done he shall die." It is reaffirmed in Heb. 10:25-26. The thief on the cross died shortly after having faith in Christ - he had no chance to commit sin and that is the reason why he was saved.

@@astutik8909 I can ask you the same question. How the fire in hell can torment souls the damned? Sprit and soul are not the same. Zech. 13;8-9 nowhere equates fire with trial of life - it does say the purpose that is refining and test them like one refines silver and test gold.

@@seanrathmakedisciples1508 You follow the error of the Reformers who taught that through faith alone your entire sins (past, present and future) imputed on Christ, whom God already punished for those sins - the punishment you deserve. There is NO Catholic teaching that says we can buy gift of God (Grace?) with money. Eze. 18:20 flatly denies double imputation taught by the Reformers: “The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.” Christ did die for the sins of ALL MEN (not only the Elect) without their sins imputed on Him as Scripture says in Rom. 5:18. According to Leviticus 16 once a year the High Priest chose one of two goats as sin offering (or sin, חַטָּאָת) to atone the sins of all Israelites (Lev. 16:8-9). That goat was sacrificed, and its blood sprinkled on and before the mercy-seat (Exo. 25:16-20, Lev. 16:15) and on the horns of the altar (Lev. 16:18). The sins of all Israelites were imputed on the second goat, that was not sacrificed but released in the wilderness as scapegoat (Lev. 16:8, 21-22). In the New Covenant Christ is the High Priest (Heb. 4:14, 9:11) and He offered Himself as sin offering or sin (Heb. 9:12). While He died to atone our sins on the cross, our sins are not imputed on Him, just like the sins of all Israelites are not imputed on the first goat in Lev. 16:8-9. If the goat in the Old Testament was able to atone the sins of all Israelites without their sins imputed on it, certainly Christ can atone the sins of all men without their sins imputed on Him.

      Zechariah 13 verses 8 and 9.
Verse 8, 2/3 will be cut off and die and a third shall be left.
This third will be tried ( theyre are living on earth) as gold is tried. Its metaphorical. And they will call on my name........
Absolutely nothing to do with a purgatory in heaven.
1 Peter 1 v 7 " that the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, tho it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory AT THE APPEARING of Jesus Christ."
The trial of our faith. Obviously while we are living.
And no " reward" until Christs return.
Purgatory denies the salvation in Jesus atonement. We are called to live in the " spirit" not as our former self, but a new beings.
If Jesus atonement was only for some sins, then the old covenant system is perfectly fine the way it was.
We know righteousness is impted imputed thru faith. But, and I agree in this point, it doesnt cover future sins, but our sins are forgiven when we ask in prayer. And we should all be striving to live in righteousness.
As for torment in hell etc, its metaphorical.
Hell is simply the grave. We all go there and await the resurrection and the appearing of Jesus Christ.
( if you exhume a dead body from the grave, its not charcoaled is it? So where is the burrning hellfire? You cant burn a spirit, either in the grave or this non existant purgatory.) The idea comes from the prophets using metaphors, that catholics later take as literal. Gehenna was a rubbish dump outside of Jerusalem where the refuse was continually burnt. The prophets likened this example to say thats where evil doers would be put. Its really as simple as that.

The Deuteronomists would object to your statement for number 7. They specifically destroyed all personal alters, stating that only Priests could make sacrifices to God, and only in Jerusalem. They also combined all Gods into one, almost completely eliminating any mention of the Son of God Jesus Christ through whom belief in him brings remission of sins. How do we know that the Old Testament spoke of Jesus Christ by name? Peter tells us in Acts 10: 43 and in Acts 4: 12 Peter tells us that Jesus Christ is the only name ever given whereby salvation comes, so the name Peter said all the Prophets taught for a remission of sins through belief in him had to be Jesus Christ. As for number 10, Jesus Christ told the Apostles that those whose sins they forgave would be forgiven in heaven and those they retained would be retained in heaven Mathew 16: 19, Mathew 18: 18 and John 20: 22-23. God can give part or all of his power to anyone without it diminishing from God, only increasing. So men being equal with and becoming Gods in no way weakens God, it only raises men. As the early Church fathers taught before the creation of the Trinity, Saints
Clement of Alexandria said "Yea, I say, The Word of God became a man so that you might learn through a man how to become Gods." between 150 A.D. and 215 A.D. and Saint Athanasius said "God became man so that man might become God." Counsel of Nicea 325 A.D. Now back to number 7, we know that mountains were considered sacred places for worshiping God, but so were Groves of trees, connected to Asher the Mother of Yahweh and Wife of El, who was also removed from the Old Testament by the Deuteronomists, except for her persona of Lady Wisdom in Ecclesiastes and the original meaning of El Shaddai (the God with breasts).

The speaker should do his homework better. Even Catholics do believe that all believers and members of the Church are saints.
This is because Christ, the Son of God, who with the Father and the Spirit is hailed as ‘alone holy,’ loved the Church as his Bride, giving himself up for her so as to sanctify her; he joined her to himself as his body and endowed her with the gift of the Holy Spirit for the glory of God.” The Church, then, is “the holy People of God,” and her members are called “saints.”

Be careful when you "teach" because you will be held to a stricter Judgment from God.
