    Which is more recommended to use for Reed diffusers. fine alcohol or base Reed diffuser . I’m totally confused between this options. I use perfumery alcohol but it’s expensive and not only that I just wanna do the way it’s supposed to be. NEED HELP HERE PLEASE 🙏🏼 ❤❤

    Hi Sam! I found you while looking for videos on how to create Reed diffusers; your content is really useful to watch, so thank you for that! I wanted to ask you in regard to the IFRA limits of for example sandalwood is at 50% for 10A, is this 50% of the 25% of fragrance used or could I only use Sandalwood since it’s 50% limit?? I hope I am making sense!
    Also, why is there such a difference between limits, with some being in the lowest percentages like Oud at 4.16% and others like Patchouli at 100%? All being fragrance oils.
    I am looking forward to your response! Keep up with the amazing content!

    • @t0lex14

      10a % mean how much you can put max with this fragrance oil. For example if you have 100ml bottle maximum you can put 50ml or lower for that specific fragrance oil.

    Super video! I need to clear something up as a relative noob. In the world of perfumery, what is a Fragrance Oil? If we look at eau de cologne, eau de toilette, and eau de parfum as the results of mixing quality materials with "carriers", then what is an FO, and what is the "carrier" within it? Thanks a million!!!

    Hello, has anyone any idea why for example i have made 20% fragrance oil with augeo multi clean base diffuser it performed once ok and other time almost no smell(same fragrance, same fiber reeds, bottle just diffirent place i placed it). Also i dont get stronger scent throw if i make 20% fragrance load vs 15%, or if i put more reeds. I must do something wrong? Im struggling with augeo base tbh.

    What is in the base that you use, did you try different bases or make your own. I tried grapeseed oil because somewhere online said any of these X number of oils would work. Turns out it's not very good. I have heard dipropaline glycol or glycerine mixed with alcohol works well but what did your experiments reveal? What do commercial brands use and is that the best or just the cheapest. Edit. Sorry you are still using Augeo, what's in that?

    • @sammacer
      @sammacer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A lot of commercial brands use DPG but now augeo is becoming much more widespread. You can experiment to find what’s best for you. Grapeseed oil is not suitable.

      Thank you!! Exactly along the lines I was thinking. I heard pine and fir balsam abs before but I really prefer black spruce EO. I don’t have proper fir balsam abs but I do have similar things. Sadly they didn’t diffuse properly in my diffuser tests since they’re more base notes - I wonder if the real stuff is the same 😒

    • @michelleeden2272
      @michelleeden2272 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sammacer I don't know...but perhaps the fir/pine/spruce resins are too gloopy to diffuse well via reeds? I think that a 'Christmas' smell would be very dependent on what the consumer smelled as a child; did their parents buy a Scotch pine or a balsam fir tree? Did someone bake with cinnamon, filling the home with seasonal scent? Did you eat goose or ham for Christmas dinner? If Grandmother always visited on Christmas, and always wore the same fragrance, that would become a purely personal association. Then there's the whole modern idea of 'holiday' scents, to which we've all been exposed, which may blur memories.

  • @rebirthofthecool5619

    I have noticed that when you put essential oils into Augeo it dampens the aroma of essential oils significantly. This is as compared to a dilution using a natural base oil. I would imagine it also dampens the smell as compared to an equal dilution of alcohol, I would expect the volatility of the ethanol Vs the Augeo would be the difference. But this is confusing to me that they smell less in Augeo than just an oil. What are your thoughts on this?
    Also now I have a blend of essential oils I like, what synthetics should I buy to improve the scent throw and performance?

    • @sammacer
      @sammacer  ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven’t really tested augeo against other bases so can’t comment unfortunately! And I recommend top notes: the possibilities are really endless so I couldn’t list them all here :)
