I’m actually really excited coming across it because I was wondering if lap paper would work for getting a mirror finish on a graver and here you are! My question to you is did you have any challenges adhering the lap paper to your surface and what kind of adhesive did you use? Lap paper is pretty thin and I can imagine the graver catching into the paper if its not absolutely flat.
Hi Michael. The lap paper has a sticky side to it that you just peel of. I think its magnesium backed. Its bloody sticky 🤣 will stick to anything. Yes it can tear if you catch it at a funny angle but its not too much of a problem. Hope this helps :)
13 minute video on graver sharpening, doesn’t show graver sharpening. Respectfully it would have been better to use the video as a chance to demonstrate the method instead of just talking about it. I bet if you make one that actually shows the process it will do extremely well and help many more people.
