Scroll Work Hand Engraving: Test Video

Test video for future content. Let me know if you would like to see more.
Hello, and 1000 thanks for the video. It is being quite a while since I want to put small letters and draws on a zamac part of an object. So please could you tell me if I can use the letters on an ordinary piece of paper, and print it by putting it on the zamac part? Thank you in advance.
Does that work on colored inks
What printer are you using? I find this method only works with the epson duraprint ink. Also instead of the rosin I use artist dammer with a touch of rubbing alcohol.
The wobble on that wheel is horrendous.
Tell me about it 😂
Alcohol and acetone are not the same thing, have you used both? Is either one acceptable?
Basically what is required is just a high purity acetone or alcohol that evaporates fast and dissolves the rosin. Try whatever you have to hand and give it a go. :)
please fix the video... it maybe a good video but I can't watch it with the camera going crazy
Y el liquido que se utiliza para mojarlo gracias
Que tipo papel utilizas para tranferir el dibujo
Very good tutorial. Thank you.
I'd love to see them.
Great video. Thanks!!!
Thank you for a very educational video ! Keep up the GREAT work JR !!
What kind of inc was it. I use 100% aceton but it did not work!
Looks like ink jet from a printer
yeah i just buy em lol
Do you think the transferred ink would work as a resist for etching the metal with some sort of etching solution?
Hi David. I don't know the answer to that sorry, etching isn't really my area of expertise :(
This is, without doubt, the best video I have seen on graver sharpening. It may be slow, and I know some people may find it boring, but Mr Franklin makes absolutely sure that you get to see each and every stage of the whole process - including the final addition of the all important 'heels' which allow the graver to exit a cut smoothly. Like many others who have praised the efforts of Mr Franklin for the making of this video, I too would like to request a copy of the necessary files to be able to print out a couple of these templates in order that I can make a start towards creating my own gravers - if that is possible? Up until now, I have only ever purchased 'ready ground' gravers. I am just starting out on this wonderful hobby which is so beautiful, and inspiring, especially when done by such talented people such as Mr Franklin, who clearly wish to pass on the simple shortcuts they have discovered so that others can hopefully achieve a similar level of ability. Well done Sir, I applaud you.....

Hello dear l want to ask you about what type paper and metal you are using???
Sorry I haven’t got back to you. The Paper is just standard printer paper. A4. Nothing special. And the metal is just a mild steel. The metal can be anything.
This guy is too slow and too much talk without action
Transferde kullandığınız kimyasal nedir
Why the speech - just get to it and explain along the way - or do you like the sound of your own voice? The sound too is bad
Thank you for this video !👍🏻
bad volume - really painful trying to listen to this guy
THANKS FOR THE DEMO, AND EXPLANATION, HOWEVER YOUR AUDIO VOLUME LEVEL SUCKS!! YOU NEED A PROPER MICROPHONE, AND OR SPEAK LOUDER!!!
I was looking for a simpler way to transfer designs onto metal and I think yours is by far the fastest and easiest. Thank you for sharing!!
Thank you!!!
I wonder which brands of inkjet printers were available to those medieval engravers?
Work it on any kind of metal?
It should do 👍
Very nice! What is the final depth you achieved in this video? 0,2millimiter?
Something around that. depth is personal preference really. Deeper = more time 🕰️
Hello I have a Steve Lindsay classic air power tool will a floating tool work on my tool?
What brand of copier did U use?
Just a suggestion colour your flats that way viewers will know which you’re talking about,or a diagram maybe
Que chingona está técnica, 😮 Muchas gracias
Cool man.👍 Thank you so much. I was thinking of a method to transfer some designs on a steel surface. Luckily your video appeared as if magic. 🔥🔥🔥
Glad you enjoyed 👍
What film . Did you use pal , i normally do the laserjet method but going to give the inkjet ago
I learning "Perfume Tattoo" on TH-cam No messy / Easy / Save money 🤑
In 15:54 minute i can see a flattering method..is this a some kimd of a hammering ?
It didn't work. I can't get the ink to transfer to the metal. It left behind an impression so I followed along the lines with a 9H pencil but I really need to be able to do this for more complex designs.
It can be a bit a bit fiddly at first but with some experimenting you will get it. It could be the strength of your solution as well as the printer you are using. I have details to the printer I use in either this video or another. Keep at it 👍
@@jrfranklin8059 thank you so much. I think my solution may be too strong (I overdue everything). I’ll watch everything you have on the topic and keep trying.
Nice videos, could use more volume on your audio please. Quick question, is your solution Isopropyl alcohol with rosin or is it Acetone with rosin? That detail was not clear for me, THANKS! Appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experiences.
You're a very talented artist- but you may consider recording your videos at a bit higher volume.
Man, I wish you had made this a year ago. It would have saved me a lot of time and some money too. Really good info here! Why the 96 degree graver? I know most people favor a 120.
Glad you enjoyed it :) it’s just preference really but anything from about 90 - 100 degrees gets you a deeper cut without widening the cut as-well. Witch is most commonly used in Gun engraving which I do in the UK

In the video you mentioned a new printer. What model is that? Thanks!
Super interesting, thanks a lot. One question: is it possible to burnish the stippled areas to smothen out the tiny bumps? Looking forward to your next video
Do you have the 3d print file for all the different graver templates for onglets and 105° and all the others?
thanks 👍
No problem 👍
Is this a drawing or engraving? Is this an engraved plate
How by eye can you tell what blanks or engraving bits are carbides or steel ?
I enjoyed the video😊 I want to finish the ingraving and fill it with black, what product should I use?
Use a matte Metal paint called rustoleum :) Glad you enjoyed
Rustolium or hammerite smooth matt
What kind of heater do you recommend?
