I just got back from a dragon trip, have done it a couple times on my Road King but this time took my WR250X supermoto. Holy shit it’s so much fun on a light, nimble bike. It has to be incredible on a 450! Sick vid!!!
It's such a crime that the camera doesn't really capture the intensity of the dragon. Especially the gravity cavity. I went up there recently for the first time. Everything was great about the dragon except the traffic. Looks like you went on a week day.
My favorite place to go lol got 3 or 4 trips lined up this year! This was a week day for sure. Just one of those things you have to experience in person to understand! 😎 🐉
Yeeeooow, I waiting on Warp9’s for my crf450rl. Happy to see someone else given it on one. Made my morning. What air pressure and tire choice are you running?
@@Floatsorrolls1 thanks mayne! But ya just exhaust, sticket kit, and I like your blacked out forks. Think ill do a slip on though, cuz doing the ecu and opening it up scares me lol...oh and tires for sure, will eventually supermoto it, but one step at a time
What is your gearing? I'm running a 47t Rear, stock front. Just got back from the dragon about a week ago, 2019 450L, conti Attk SM EVO, Yoshi, Cam, Vortex,
Here is a video of what we switched up and why we did. Have been extremely happy with the changes and bike has been perfect since 😎🤙🏼 th-cam.com/video/Cv18LU2AgNs/w-d-xo.html
Hi from europe, here the crf 450 l is sold with 22hp to meet the regulation then you can work on it to make it spit it's full power. Have you had to do the same ?
Don’t know if it’s the camera angle or not but it looks like you were counter steering in the corners.. how to do you gain the confidence in the bike and the tires that it’s going to handle and grip like it’s supposed to?
Knowing the road helps a bunch, but most of it is tires when they get warmed up it changes the feel of the bike completely. Feels like your glued to the road. Ive been on this road hundreds of times and slowly got more confident. Never pushing passed 80% to 90% your comfort level. Counter steering is a concept that took me forever to understand, It something that I was doing subconsciously. Only way I understood that I was doing it was going out and trying it, its a really weird concept to grasp but you are likely doing it when you ride as counter steering is what makes the bike lean in the opposite direction of the way you turn the wheel. Making you bike turn the direction the bike leans. Almost every accident I have seen on this road is people pushing passed their comfortable level. Thanks for watching and ride safe!
@Jaime Gonzalez love them! They are the most confidence inspiring tires ive tried! If you are not worried about tread life id definitely give em a try. They are all we run on our supermotos.
@Coff1nFiLL3r if you weigh over 180 pounds I would go Honda if less the DRZ. 650L has been bullet proof but my friends drz has had minor issues( shifter shaft seal leak and small frame crack tht needed rewelded and burns a quart of oil every 1000miles). The DRZ seems to have better resale and more attractive lol. Maybe worth looking at the kawasaki supermoto if u way less than 180LB. Thanks for watching!
@@Floatsorrolls1 Thanks for the reply. I was even considering the 450L as well. I put 17k miles on my last drz-sm in 2 years. I thought that might be a lot to maintain riding the 450 that frequently. As long as the Xr650l is fairly flickable in sumo trim I’ll most likely go with that.
@@Coff1nF1LL3r definitely to much maintenance for 450l lol. My dad loves his 650l it might be a little heavier but after modding it. He’s got no problem keeping up and enjoys the torque. I havent riden his to much but seems pretty flickable in supermoto trim 👌🏼
Didnt switch carb just replaced the case side the was damaged and installed all new bearings on the new one. (Bearings were fine in old case just wanted it to be fresh since it was that far apart).
@@Supperup40672 to each their own my friend! Appreciate it! We have a fz09 and fz07 both amazing bikes but always loved the supermoto style and have no regrets! Mt10 is a bad mofo and considered it before the 450l. 👌🏼
In this video i actually was running 13/51 I believe but had issues with premature wear on components and issues with chain slap against the tire. Which I have since switched to a 49 tooth rear sprocket and has been perfect since. Slightly taller gearing but smoother. If your curious on why i switched and what else i changed. Check out this video of me going over the sprocket and tire swapping. It also shows some of the wear I was getting and why i decided with 49. In the video description theres a link to a site that gives you information on swapping sprockets its a little complicated but neat! Thanks for watching! th-cam.com/video/Cv18LU2AgNs/w-d-xo.html

Lol you were killing it last week! was awesome meeting you as well! Hope to see you down there again bro 🤘🏼😎 nice shorts of you wheeling btw!
That's cool as long as you understand the risk and you're willing to pay the price.

Awesome vid guys, this has sold me, CRF450L!!
This is my realistic dream bike atm. Beats the price of turboing a miata and handles fantastic. Also can do offroad shit
@doobie heck yah! Supermoto is 👑. Turbo miatas are definitely cool too tho!

i think i saw you guys down there.... can't believe how fast you were
He was riding like a BOSS, until he wasn't.

Just ordered some for my crf450L too!

Will prob just put miles on it the first few days and oil everything down doe
Nice! Dream bike
You should jam your forks up in the tripples as far as you can if your not running a set of tripples
Your lucky i want your Crf450l lol 🔥👌
That's so cool man 🔥
Hi great vidio but can we see the stop and show people and bikes not just the riding please.

What are you running for gearing?.. i have the same bike with super moto setup... currently has a 13/43

Trail braking a supermoto is also second nature up there. Rarely do it around town. A supermoto there almost feels like cheating.
You countersteer without even realizing it if you ride literally at all lol
How do you like those conti supermoto tires? Been wanting to try em out on my 450

Floatsorrolls awesome! I definitely didn’t build my supermoto with miles in mind. I’ll be trying them out once I roast these Q3s. Thanks
Any opinion on the better all around bike between these 2? Drz400sm or a sumo converted xr650l?

@Floatsorrolls do you know where I can find a frame for a 2009 honda trx300x? Or anyonethat knows pls let me know

@Elijah Pinales roughly 14k with bike and all new parts.
