I tried the electrolysis method (on TH-cam) for getting rid of the rust inside the tank, then washed it with a flexible jet wash hose that got right in.
I have a 2000 Suzuki Bandit and the cap was stuck so had to cut a hole in the bottom and release it then weld it up. Believe me I tried everything else.
Just about to use POR15 "now".
    Thanks useful video

It didn’t completely stop the leak through several pin holes annoyingly. Then I contacted a supplier to find out I couldn’t tip more in as it doesn’t stick to itself ahhhhhh. Luckily they make a patch repair paste that you brush on thinly (NOT CHEAP) which I applied to the bottom of the tank twice as one application didn’t solve it. At the moment it appears to be holding and I don’t have any other leaks.

I will say that my POR-15 sealer said to rotate the tank and let it sit while doing the metal prep phase. It didn't say anything about 20 minutes, it said roll the tank then let it sit each side for 30 minutes. Unfortunately i read that after having already just shook it then drained it.

You are a Brit and your using an import for demonstration? Goodness, why not something expected of you, like a famous Triumph? As that gas tank is almost a work of art! Just ribbing you, great video! Thanks

If you have a fuel sensing unit, would you have to remove that before using this? I am assuming yes! Haha

Is it nessacery to prep and clean a new tank that has never had fuel in it ?

Can the drain-off be re-used when treating a new tank ?

How exactly did you prep the tank before you did this? I am about to order the same product off Amazon for my CBR 500r. Let it sit and got some rust in the tank so hoping this stuff will square me away.

Would you use the products again? Think that it’s the best thing that was available?

Yes I would definitely use these products again, they are one of the best sealers on the market.

If you can get US military grade aircraft epoxy fuel tank sealer, that is the best, I have a 1980 GT 80 Yamaha I did the fuel tank as a kid, only used gravel and thinner to break up the rust in the tank, it is still sealed to date with only surface rust on the outside of the tank but never experienced any inner rust after sealing it. But, since that sealer is hard to come by, POR15 is about the next best thing.
