- Game sharing isn't new to Xbox. People have been game sharing since it was possible. 2022 Xbox Updates have a little spot to explain what a Home Xbox is. We'll talk about Home Xbox Settings, How Home Xbox works and why you can only switch your Home Xbox 5 times a year.

Can that be done using an additional console? 1 having the ultimate game pass and the other 2 consoles (friends or family) where you want to share? Or does it only work with 2 consoles... thanks in advance.
Scenarios were very confusing. Home Xbox means anyone can play all your games on it/game pass/ gold. You can still sign into a second Xbox and also play all your game on it/game pass/ gold. You basically get 2 game pass ultimate memberships for you and a sibling/friend for the price of one. Buy one copy of a game and you can both play online
This isn’t shady or “unofficial”at all. That’s how it’s supposed to work. That way families don’t have to buy multiple copies of games to play together. You only have to buy one game or one Xbox game pass
What about the whole 5 times a year switch thing it's confusing. Can you elaborate?
Does anyone know how this works with gamepass mobile? Meaning if I set up my home Xbox on another console, can I still log in to my current one for mobile gaming?
For some odd reason my home Xbox keeps kicking off my account everytime I go offline and I don't know why it does that

what’s do you have to do when the switches aren’t working for your own xbox
so my main xbox is ticked as my home xbox but it does not act as my home xbox, and i have another xbox downstairs and that xbox acts as my home xbox whilst the box is not ticked.

Why did you need to switch your home xbox? Because the point is to let one xbox share with other xbox. So just leave them be the same account for both xbox right?
my brother has an xbox and i do to , i have his account on my xbox & vice versa , do i go on his account and make it home xbox on my xbox or do i make it home xbox on his xbox and then i can still play his games ?

For some reason we can no longer play a game at the same time even though we are trying to play a different game on each console. It asks if we want to log the other person/console out. I made my old Xbox my home acount and my dad was trying to play fifa and he couldn't connect to internet and said it had to sign im
I do this with my daughter. One other important thing to remember that I don't think you mentioned is that I think your purchasing info can be used by the one who is on your home Xbox. MS credit or if you have a card attached may be able to be used by the friend. I haven't seen this on mine but something else to keep in mind.
Should be ok as long as you password your account to login so they can't get on your account. Definitely a concern though.

I have two Xbox consoles in different cities. So when I travel … I can play GTA5 online. I completed the link, and everything updated. About a week later, my same login on one Xbox has 11M dollars and rank 177 while the other has 2M dollars and rank 172. I am thinking this one week of play difference could be both Xbox are set as home. I will troubleshoot it this week.

I bought my brothers old Xbox One yesterday. The only problem is that it has some games only on his account/not on discs. And those games are really good like RDR2 and CODs, so I'd like to play them too. He naturally has lesser or more progress in those games and I want to start them from scratch and earn the achiements with my own account. Am I able to play the games on my own account if I log in with it while the Xbox One is my brother's home console? He has a PS5 now so he isn't playing on Xboxes at all
Yes. If it’s his home Xbox and you log in you’ll be able to play any games he has digitally. He just needs to download them and you’ll have access when you sign in and all the progress etc will be whatever your account has completed and his isn’t affected.

Whoever purchases the games, their home xbox is the one you need to be on. Are you trying to access them on the Home Xbox? Cloud gaming won't work the same because the license is tied to the console.
So I am an Ultimate Member and made the Series S in the bedroom my homeconsole. But my girlfriend and I cannot play together, because it says that I can play on only one console at a time. Is it possible to play together simultainously?
You can only be signed into your profile on one xbox yes, your girlfriend will have to make her own account/profile to play on a separate console or if you want to play on the same console she can just sign in as a guest which will have your username with a (1) beside it.
You just create a different profile on whatever console your girl wants to play on. Make the Xbox with her profile your main account’s home Xbox. This will give her access to Xbox live and all of the games you own. Since she will not be signed into your account but hers, you will be on your account on your other Xbox. Therefore you will only be signed in on one Xbox at a time and you will be able to play with each other.

My friends console is set to my home Xbox on my console but every time i try to play online multiplayer it says I need to buy a gold plan even tho my friend has gold and everything. How do I resolve that issue?
Call and complain. Not once. Not twice. Prob 3 times. Then it magically works again….. just happened to me finally working today after 4 days complaining

Hi! My husband has the game pass and we want to share. I went onto his Xbox, logged into my profile, then checked make this my home Xbox on his system. I returned to my console and it seems like it didn’t work. What did I do wrong?
Than id restart both consoles for good measure . They both restart no harm no foul .

My series X😡😡😡😡 decided to brick and I was permanently offline since it wasn’t connected to the internet and no wireless options appeared.

Scenario: account A with gold and all games were on that console. It asked me if I wanted to make this my home Xbox and I said yes
Xbox one s: doesn’t allow me to play any games or use gold with account B
I switched accounts back and forth and both have about 1 left.

I just reference xbox one/ secondary account as to say that the xbox is going to be used mainly for a second account.
Does game sharing reset system settings and any saved data. If that makes sense
They made it impossible to sign in another account it goes straight into new account creation.
My Brother and I home share. I have the Series X and he recently switched from the Xbox One to the Series S. We have home sharing set up but it doesn’t allow him to use the Live from my GamePass. Hoping for some guidance on this. Thanks!

From what I understand is it only works for gold if you want to play games simultaneously.

@@jakewilson5582 if you both have the home xbox thing correct, and he has purchased the game digitally. Try going to the game on the Store on the xbox and see if it says manage game. Ive also had to click on whatever edition it is and act like i was going to buy it and itll say “you own this” or “manage”
so i’m trying to find a way to just pay for one subscription rather than two. both me and my sister have our own consoles, same household and both have ultimate game pass. i just canceled my sister’s subscription, hoping it actually works. but i made my account her home xbox and then her account my home xbox. since i canceled her subscription while i still have mine will she still be able to play xbox after the subscription expires since my account is now her home xbox?

So if i want to game start game sharing with my wife I have to my her xbox my home xbox. We both like playing call of duty together we just don't want to buy the gam twice.
On her Xbox sign into your account and set as home Xbox. On your Xbox sign into her account and set as home Xbox.

I’m so confused, so say account 1 has Xbox live and account 2 doesn’t. What do I have to do for account 2 to get Xbox live as well? I understand you have to make account 1 the home Xbox but how?
Sign in to an Xbox with account one. Set the Xbox to be account 1’s Home Xbox. Any account that signs into that Xbox will be able to share any game account 1 has downloaded to that Xbox as well as Xbox Live.

I have a series X. My wife has a one S. I downloaded my profile onto my wife’s xbox. Made her console “my home xbox.” I then signed out. I went back to my xbox and simply just downloaded my profile.
Her and I both tried to play borderlands. Because her xbox is “my home xbox” that should give her gold property from my account, right?? But every time her and I try to play it tells her that she needs gold… am I missing by something??

They just fixed my live issue TODAY. So if yours isn’t fixed today, they did something specifically to my xbox to make it work and not across all users…

Idk what's wrong with Xbox but I've had this issue for years it just says do you own this game or app even though I bought the damn game just on a different console.
The game license is tied to the console itself.

yes. for your games. Setting your home xbox will remove the one that's set currently.
I have 3 Xbox the first 2 broke so I have my account on them I only use my third Xbox but idk how to get my other 2 Xbox off it if that makes sense
If the other 2 are broken and no one can access your profile then your fine, all you gotta do is make your 3rd/current xbox your profiles home xbox and you’ll have no restrictions from any games offline and all accessibility to everything on your profile. 👍

Anyone out there that has this”glitch“ where they have game shared with multiple people in the past and now have access to all their downloadable games and Xbox live from the previous accounts game shared? I’m so confused and thankful but I have games from 2 different accounts that I have not purchased but belongs to the gameshared accounts. It’s even under the owned games tab for me and I asked one of them if they bought a certain game and they said yes and I was able to download that same exact game with out sharing and it worked. It looks like the last 2 accounts I made my home Xbox to my account stayed and is still currently giving me access to whatever they buy. (Currently not game sharing with anyone ) Am I the only one?

We can't both be signed in. I bought my fiance her own console and she can play as long as my account is signed into her Xbox but I cant sign in on mine or it keeps her out and says she's required to purchase the games that were on my console. I did everything right but can't play together
She has to have her own account u can't both be signed into the same account at the same time ur account just has to be signed in as the home xbox account

Ok so I did this for my fiance's Xbox and it's saying on hers she has to purchase the games instead of them being free
When you are logged in download them. Then log out and log her in and see if she can launch the game. She won’t be able to download them from the store on her account without buying them but she can play them if you have them downloaded and she’s on your home Xbox. Let me know if that doesn’t work.
@@akaScratch So if you're game sharing with somebody they won't be able to download the games off your game pass ultimate? That sucks, at least will their game progress be saved on their profile since they are only allowed to launch the game?
