Poor Hank was so scared he forgot his own surname...
I liked and subscribed because Hank Chang is a cinnamon roll and must be protected at all cost.

His contact point and posture gave it away!

True... his body can’t resist to be a pro
These look like legit, talented violinists. Can't believe they're only charging $5-20 !!!!
Yeah I was really surprised at those prices. Especially for people with masters in performance, that's crazy.
I don't play violin or viola so someone could confirm, but I feel like the video chat might limit the extent of how much one could teach. In any case, that price still seems very very worth it
yeah that actually made me really sad

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Classical music is art music produced or rooted in the traditions of Western culture, including both liturgical (religious) and secular music. While a more precise term is also used to refer to the period from 1750 to 1820 (the Classical period), this article is about the broad span of time from before the 6th century AD to the present day, which includes the Classical period and various other periods.[1] The central norms of this tradition became codified between 1550 and 1900, which is known as the common-practice period.

Overview
European art music is largely distinguished from many other non-European classical and some popular musical forms by its system of staff notation, in use since about the 11th century.[2][3] Catholic monks developed the first forms of modern European musical notation in order to standardize liturgy throughout the worldwide Church. Western staff notation is used by composers to indicate to the performer the pitches and durations for a piece of music.[2] In contrast to most popular styles that adopted the song (strophic) form or a derivation of this form, classical music has been noted for its development of highly sophisticated forms of instrumental music such as the symphony, concerto, fugue, sonata, and mixed vocal and instrumental styles such as opera, cantata, and mass.[4] Alongside traditional musical attributes, Classical music is conscientious about drawing from and re-purposing its formal and social tradition with forms such as the Mass evolving and communicating through over a thousand years.[5]
The term "classical music" did not appear until the early 19th century, in an attempt to distinctly canonize the period from Johann Sebastian Bach to Ludwig van Beethoven as a golden age.[6] The earliest reference to "classical music" recorded by the Oxford English Dictionary is from about 1829.[1][7]"
Don't think the goal was to humiliate them though. That would be a really crappy motivation.
Idk why no one is talking about the teachers?
Often times these fiverr videos are super bad because the people featured are a bit of a joke, but the violin teachers here seemed super legit.
Super wholesome video, awesome job Ray!
They all seemed so nice and encouraging too!
Online services are legit. Just gotta find a good website/app
Maybe he just chose the legits one, since the list is kinda big
it can be because he's a world class violinist, he can identify the legit profiles easily. I was expecting this video to be the same as all those "pretend to be beginner, flex on incompetent teachers" stuffs, but it turned out really wholesome and gave these teachers some publicity.
- have perfect pitch
- I used to play violin until 12 yo

Seriously though I'm sure he had great teachers, and also accounting for inflation that's probably at least 150 or more today!
Early in the lesson: Can’t hold bow properly
Later: Play Tchaikovsky Concerto perfectly

My biggest takeaway from this is how cheap top notch lessons are and how underpaid teachers are.
Wouldn't they notice who you are? LOL. Unless Hank Chang is perfectly disguised. I suggest another series where you surprise people by being the teacher. HAHA!
Hank Chang is perfectly disguised, lolll
This will be very fun!

LOL Ray still sounds like Ray! Maybe because I'm Chinese... Haha! I hope Ray really have another series of him being the surprise teacher!

This Hank Chang guy is pretty good, he should be a concert violinist or something
It is must be hard for a virtuoso to hold himself and not to flex 🤣
That is the nicest most loving teacher ever: "I can see you are holding your bow in an UNCONVENTIONAL way." And the best of all: "Of course you haver perfect pitch, it's just that there are different frequences of perfect pitch!" I love her.

He is literally like Clark Kent. A totally different person with his glasses.
The falling-off-the-stage footage tho. O_O "I even fell off the stage and broke my violin." Imagine after saying that and then being like, "Now, i have a strad."
Fiverr tho, $5 for 30min? $20 for 60 min? It's a steal. Though, I guess virtual lessons aren't always as good. I certainly started at $20 for a 60min group piano lesson when I was 5 or 6, but by the time I was doing grade 8 pr 9 RCM I was paying above $100 for one-on-one.
I'm mainly impressed by how well Ray does a Taiwanese accent, it's super accurate. Despite hearing it all my life from my parents I still can't pull it off. Would be super cool if next time you offered to accompany them in a piece for the remaining time in the lesson!

I watched 2Set Violin just for laughs and I Hillary Hahn then started to check out violin soloists on TH-cam. Two months ago I never listened to any violinist. I’m spending hours a day now. I enjoy chamber music as well. I watched a documentary on Janine Jensen I love that woman she conveys so much emotion into her playing I thought it was not real at first. I love to listen to her play however, watching her perform adds an additional dimension. So this 71 year old is hooked. I watch building, repair and setup violin videos. I was a drummer for 35+ years nightclubs to bowling banquets only a few years full time. House band at a large fiction center 3 to 4 weddings a weekend I have eaten more stuffed chicken dinners than you could imagine. Well a new channel violin subscribed. Thanks
I saw the Hank Chang photo when scrolling TH-cam and I was like “this guy looks familiar… but I don’t know anyone named Hank Chang, so maybe it’s just a coincidence”
