In February 2018, I ordered a new challenger scat pack, shaker with a six speed Tremic, it is now December 6, 2024, I have not done anything to the car, I have a 6000 miles on it, and I love it
I've had two 392 Scats and like you said, Dodge did an excellent job with these cars form the factory; engine, intake and exhaust. In my opinion the best thing you can do is to enjoy the car and leave it alone. 😁
Lol 100% false every stock scat I raced in beating by 4 cars at least with headers intake and exhaust I’m beating 10r80s mustangs with these mods so there’s your answer
Just bought myself a 392 SRT Challenger 15’ 😜 - Thank You for being so upfront with these type of cars (Pros & Cons) - I look forward to all my future tickets!!
That's why I love dodge... A fully modded R/T falls short of a 392... a fully modded 392 falls short of a hellcat! And so on.... love your un biased Input on things. Keep em coming!!!
So I've been doin a lot of research on these cars now. One thing I'd add to your list is a carbon fiber or aluminum drive shaft. It seems like it would shed overall weight by 50-65lbs, as well as spin up faster at speed, giving you longer legs against opponents like the Mustang, because of regaining some efficiency lost in the drive train with stock shaft.
I'll go ahead and give you numbers for a boosted stock motor 392. 651 whp on just 6.5 psi and 93 octane. It's my wife's 2017 Dodge Charger Daytona 392. Just to prove that the 392 loves boost and doesn't need much to put it well into the 10's we installed a ProCharger D1SC , long tube headers, and a muffler delete. The pcm is tuned with HP Tuners. My wife's best 1/4 mile E.T. to date is 10.75@125 mph. People get careless when boosting stock Hemi engines. Yes building the motor with forged internals is the only way to build big power but for less than $8900 you have a vehicle that is as quick through the 1/4 mile as most stock Hellcat's and still cost less.
@@ThemReaper5 my wife and I do all our own work. We also keep close watch on the datalog after each run. So far my wife has over 25 1/4 mile passes and at least that many 1/8 mile. Of course the main reason we build our cars is for daily driving bad ass cars!
@@mikereeves282 modifying cars will always seem like a waste of money to people who have to pay someone else to do it for them or people who just Don't get that adrenaline rush from speed or acceleration. It's kinda like we think people who spend money on cruises and elaborate vacations to foreign countries or exotic islands are just throwing money away. " To each his own ", I will admit this is an expensive hobby and if you don't have the money to spend and you're not able to put away for retirement you will not get your investment back. At least not monetarily anyway!
Mikes05Hemi agree with you. I am trying to decide the best move. Unlock pcm and mod my widebody or trade for a lightly used straight-body HC....about the same cost. I love my widebody and it’s been mine from new, but if I unlock pcm my warranty is gone. HC in stock form will still be supported by dodge
Exactly, the aftermarket pipes don't gain as much as the manufacturers claim and need other components, as pipes alone won't do much. They work a lot better when adding CAI as well as headers, and work together hand-in-hand. I was going to straight pipe my Challenger, but decided against it because I wanted larger-diameter pipes and went with SLP loudmouth cat backs instead. Which consists of 3" as well as eliminates the resos, and open chamber racing bullets replaces them. They sound fantastic together with the 6.1 Hemi, and really breathes so much better now. It's loud as hell and does has some drone, but just need to change up the RPM's a little and it goes away. Was considering the extremes and attacks by borla, but thought that they sounded every bit as good and are the best bang for the buck at $599. The 6.1s handle boost better then 392, and are more simplistic without the variable valve timing bull. It's 69.8 HP per liter is the highest output of any Chrysler motor ever produced, and even exceeds that of the 66 race hemis believe it or not
LOL! I've been a fan of RacerX since Demonology introduced this guy to me. As soon as I saw the Bucks shirt I knew this guy and I was kindred spirits! O-H...!
RacerX: First, kudos for excellent content in your videos. Here you go with my 2 cents as a widebody Scat Pack Charger owner 16 months in. Depends on a person's goals. For me, I really appreciate the OEM package (lightly modified) because I have my perspective from having a very modified fox body 5.0 in the 90's and several very fast bikes after that. My car is lightly modded intentionally and a daily driver. For me, a JLT catch can, cold air intake and Hooker blackheart headers is it. Those 3 simple mods, my custom drive mode (trans in " track" always) and regular doses of Lucas ethanol fuel treatment to keep the injectors clear, adds up to a stupid fun, reliable, "legit" muscle car. NOT a world beater, but a..dead reliable 500 HP street car is NOT a joke. Mine was special ordered in 2019 (waited 5 months for it) so that also impacted my choices in NOT screwing up a super nice driver. Mine is to..DRIVE and beating the piss out of the 5.0 in the 90's gives me restraint now with mods. Factory exhaust with headers is gloriously loud WOT, quiet when needed to be and NOT restrictive so no NEED to change it. We are agreed the OEM tires are "junk" but that's easy fix. We are spoiled now with what the OEM's are building HP wise (If you can pay the freight for it), but my Scat is plenty fast for the street and MOST importantly, dead reliable compared to the welded subframed, cammed, geared, fox body I had that spit parts or broke..something on a regular basis. Because I had that car and a string of other modded cars/bikes, I can appreciate the Scat for what it is, as a super fun NA street car you can drive and just grin..every single time without issues. Keep it up sir👍
Great and informative as usual. I just had my 2021 wide body scat cammed and tuned. It is the first mod I have done on the car. VERY pleased with the result. Gained about 35 HP to the wheel and maybe 20 -25 ft lbs of tourque. It really brought out some personality in the car. Woke it up, especially in the mid-range. And the way it grumbles at idle now, even with a bone stock exhaust system, is just perfect. My original plan was to cam, long tubes, and exhaust with a tune for the car. I almost don't want to do all that now, just because of how much i LOVE the sound of the cammed car with just stock exhaust. I really think dodge crushed it with the exhaust note on these cars.
I have a 2016 Scat Pack. Mods are tune, Fastman TB, 180 T stat, home ported intake to better align manifold pieces, Catless mids, headlight air intake. At the drag strip light wheels and racing tires all around and about 150 lbs weight reduction. So far best is 11.5 at 119. Recently installed adjustable rear control arms and set camber to zero to correct negative camber problem on right rear. I'm confident car will run 11.4 possibly 11.3 at over 120 in decent DA. I agree with your analysis but you may have underestimated gain from catless mids. There was a difference that was easy to feel. With the current mods, car can be returned to stock in a day. Took a lot of time fitting the catless mids so they can be exchanged with stock mid pipes in about 2 hours. Thanks for the great video.
i was just in the market for a new car and of course thought of the challenger because it has been my dream car since the new release in 2008.. i was also highly considering the charger because i drove my moms ALOT back in high school and really loved that car. didn't really consider the mustang even though i do like them. i've watched alot of your videos and have helped me see things and then going to the dodge dealership and seeing the challenger scat pack in the show room solidified my first though on what i wanted.. so i got the 2022 Challenger R/T Scat Pack and can now say i'm driving my dream car. been so happy with it. i continue to watch your videos to learn certain things and appreciate these videos... oh... and go blue!
That’s why it’s good to do your own work. If you can install the cam and longtubes yourself it can save you thousands.. Cam, longtubes, and a tune is the holy trinity of almost any pushrod N/A car.
I ended up in an SRT392 (2018) because insurance was 1/3rd the cost of the hellcat. Immediately bolted a edelbrock 2650 (among a lot of other things..) to it. You're right on the money - keep it simple and low boost and it's an absolute blast. Made 635rwhp on just under 7psi and I've put close to 8,000 miles on it now with absolutely zero issues.
These car's are fun and fast from the gitgo, he's spot on. The tires are crap unless you love fishtailing around corners with little effort.....I need tires. The active exhaust sounds great from what I've been told.....I don't know never seen my car drive off without me, but it's quite in the cabin. The only thing I would change is add some electric exhaust cutouts....yeah like open pipes on my old T/A. CAI is a must I believe, that motor loves her air. And I've seen a few that have been cammed and tuned that does make a helluv a difference, but I would probably add oil catch can in there somewhere.
Kevin Newlan a cold air doesn’t work on the 6.4 the only airbox mod is add the lower Hellcat box,now if you have ported heads cams long tubes a cold air may work, but still I’ve seen 1000hp Hellcat’s that still use the stock airbox for a reason..really the best mod is to just add either turbos or a blower.
We're moving to California soon and are keeping our '18 Scat Pack forever. Wanted to put long tubes on but they won't pass inspection out there, so probably will just do more cosmetic stuff like matte '20 hood and quad tips. Already have the projector bee puddle lights. Performance wise, going with 305s in back, 275 in front, Firestone Indy 500s. What makes this car so great is the personalization choices are endless.
I’m glad I modded my 1320!!! First off it’s got an advantage over stock scat pack with suspension and torque converter! I did cam, ported heads, long tubes and 3200 converter with ported intake manifold and throttlebody for less than $6,000 doing it myself! In high DA and heat my car runs 11.4 all day on 20 inch nexens and just a rear seat delete while other 1320s run 12.2 with 17 inch wheels so it is a significant gain for the money for me! If I run 17 inch beadlocks and pull passenger seat in low DA I should run low 11s high 10s
Was there a screw or nail right in the top of the right rear tire when you were down beside it RacerX? I just seen that on here lol we just bought our 2nd Scatty. A 23 Last Call Shaker with the dynamic package. Sublime green, we are absolutely loving it! We used to have a standard hood 21 Scatty Challenger without the dynamic package, man those extra 30 mm of tire out back really help on this one now!
The majority of hellcat owners beat on their car. It's so hard to find a quality hellcat that hasn't been molested. It's def a risk when buying used in general especially with a car such as the hellcat
He's absolutely correct. I have researched superchargers and I spoke with an individual who builds race engines and the problem with boosting these engines is the pistons, the Hellcat has forged pistons and will take that pressure, the 392 doesn't have those forged pistons. He recommended an intercooled Magneson but that would only get me 150hp but he said anymore than that wouldn't be safe as far as the pistons are concerned. He did recommend, no matter what you do or don't do, is a catch-can. He said that would add life to the engine. Personally, I'm going to go with a catch-can to preserve the engine, a tuner to add a few more horses and make the most of racing fuel and arguably most important, NEW TIRES so I can hook rather than break the tires loose. It doesn't matter how much power you have if you don't have tires that will grab the pavement. I won't beat the Helltcat but it's still a lot of fun and still faster than most any other bone stock cars. By the way, I trust this guy, I've fact checked MUCH of what he's said and he hasn't been wrong yet, a couple debatable issues but that's it.
Petty’s garage has a package for scats the 600 hp package is 7500 and its uprgaded push rods ported heads, custom comp cam phase limter and a tune. I’m really considering that after I put headers and a 3 inch exhaust on my scat. My goal is 500 rwhp all N/A I know ima spend a lot but you gotta pay to play with MOPARS
Great video, should be a must watch after buying a 392. Dodge did a great job on these scat packs as far as intake and exhaust which is the first two things people usually mod. I agree with getting wider tires though!! 275’s made a difference on my charger SP.
@@jenelberry5011 honestly from what ive seen, if you want to fully benifit from Long tubes, get a cam with it. They work wonders together, oh and yes you need to either port you intake or go eddlebrook victor II
I added a Procharger to my stock 2012 Charger SRT 6.4 and for me it's really really way more fun. I don't drag or street race. I don't care about 0-60 times either. Just stepping on it from any speed is way better than stock. I've had this since 2017 and no problems so far. I haven't installed any gauges to see A/F ratio or boost. Every time I drive it I have to floor it. I love the sound of the Procharger and blow off valve. I left the underneath panels off but did the wheel well. The only other things I did was a Diablo tune but that's off now and a Corsa cat back.
My 22 Challenger Scat had the 9" wheels with Goodyear 245s but my '23 has the 9.5s w/275 Pirellis and 6 piston brakes, its a big difference in how it drives. The dynamics package is worth it.
I have owned Dozens and dozens of peformace cars that I built from Mild to Wild and then 1st things I usually would start with were tire, Wheels, Brakes
Scat Packs are optimized very good from the factory, especially the newer models, no modding necessary IMO. Definitely go with 275s or 305s for rubber.
Great vid! The one i simply don't agree with you on is the nitrous. I ran it on my scat & it never caused any problems for me. I was on 100 shot & it was safer than running boost while giving way more power than any cam & still being cheaper than both.
I have a good friend that runs a 100 shot on his '16 Scatty. He switched the intake to the Edelbrock and runs a Nitrous Express kit. 3 full race seasons later and he's had zero issues. For those interested in NOS in my experience: Wet kit is a must (Running a dry system is asking for trouble)! Good fuel! Find an excellent tuner who specializes in late gen Hemi's (SUPER IMPORTANT!). 75-100 HP shot is a nice sweet spot, 125 is pushing it a tad too much for my liking. There is always a risk so be informed.
Really like your videos! I have a 19 scat pack shaker 392 I went with a manual transmission and It came with 3:90 gears. But it flys through first gear, but it’s really fun!
+1 on changing to fatter rubber. Guys want to start the bolt-on proceedings, but fat rubber is a huge part of digging out quickly with all that torque.
I bought the MOPAR PERFORMANCE air box and put it on my scat pack before i heard about the Hellcat tube deal. I bought a AEM? tube($35) and its much better than the $350 MP air intake kit. Took a large hole saw and cut out the stock box for the tube then 3M epoxied it in
Easy to understand and well packaged information for what I've heard about the 6.4. Seems to me a cam, intake, and tires are about all you'll be able to do realistically. I agree tires are key. If you can get the big torque to hook up on the low end you should gain some acceleration and peace of mind relatively cheap.
I love your vids especially on the scat pack Racer Ex , I own a 2016 Scat pack shaker and my mod list will be the wider tires and a catch can , then call it a day . Cheers
I put a scat pack exhaust on my 300c. Sounds great. Looking at the 6.1, 6.4 and 6.2 challengers now. Saw a scat pack with supercharger, a few hellcats and the 6.1 were low mileage and seemingly unmodded which I kind of like. Unsure if I want to start off with something supercharged or start N/A. The only superchargers I'd consider would be Mopar made or Whipple.
Just bought my 2016 Challenger Scat Pack 6Spd with 27k miles traded in my 2011 Tundra for it she’s so pretty :). Going to leave it stock for awhile. Once it’s time to change tires then I’ll throw some bigger boys on but the tires on it are brand new nitto Ventus v12. Other than that’s it just tires for me
Catless midpipes from mmx and purchase HP tuners MPVI2 then have Satera tune the ECU and TCU. Purchase the aem x series 030-0334 wideband as well. I added the entire rear AADPERFORMANCE rear billet control arm package and P4D diff brace for peace of mind.
You give short shrift to nitrous. Perhaps a more in depth look at what a 75 - 100 shot of nitrous would do. Seems consensus is that 75-100 is perfectly fine in a 6.4 and a lot less expensive than 30 hp and $4k for a cam or exhaust or $10k for an SC and 6 psi. Everyone already knows the STOCK internals are not up for a 150 hp gain regardless of how you get it. So I would appreciate a video of your assessment of a 75-100 system with a proper tune. Love your videos keep up the great service. Thanks.
If I could do it all over again I would have went that route with a good fuel setup, stray away from a cheap setup for the long haul and they will take a 150 with colder plugs, good fuel mixer 110 octain and a good tune
That was my plan, but I let my wife talk me into just wait till it breaks then change it. So my initial plan was to just change the pistons and rods, but WHEN it blows I'll just buy a 426.lol.😅 But it hasn't yet after 6 years.
RACER X 392 COMES MADE FROM THE FACTORY UNDER A PRECISE RUNNING MODE A NOTHING TO DO ON IT. THE ASSESSMENTS ON YOUR BEHALF ARE PERFECT. IT SHOULD NOT BE TOUCHED JUST RUNNED LIKE IT IS AN HAVE FUN. I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR YOU TALK ABOUT SUPER PERFORMANCE CHIPS PLACED ON THESE HEMI ENGINES FROM 5.7 TO 6.4s THANKS AND DO CONTINUE..GREAT PRESENTATIONS.
100 octane tune, lightweight wheels such as Billet Specialties and light tires along with some easy weight reduction. That the best ET gains from stock. My $1700 exhaust picked up ZERO ET and MPH. Leave the exhaust alone. I picked up a little with 1 7/8 headers and a little with a ported OEM intake and throttle body. The weight of these cars is what makes the hp advancement seem minimal as far as performance. I ran consistent 11.3 @ 121 with the above tweaks at +250-500 DA. I REALLY wanted to buy ported heads and a good cam, but at the time torque converters weren’t available. I wasnt gonna do any of those without the trifecta.....Cam/heads/converter. I’m sure I’d have been deep in the 10’s. I bought a Hellcat instead.
Mopar optimized the Scatty combo to max efficiency from the factory. They did a great job admittedly. Why they never put in stronger pistons Ill never know.
@@scarface9617 yeah man......even if Mopar just changed the piston configuration to a thick top style that pushed the rings down a little ( the standard pistons are set up to help with emissions......something to do with crevice space ). The rods, crank and block can take a lot of abuse.
I was thinking about add ons for my 2020 scat pack TA but from what it sounds like it won’t be worth it. So thanks for the video man! Came across Your channel today and subscribed right away. Keep the videos coming!
Currently have a cold air and corsa catback. I have corsa long tubes, catless midpipes, ported intake manifold, and 87mm throttle body waiting to be installed when I do my cam install next month. 500 whp should be a fun daily.
I notice that you never mention the Widebody option on the Scat Pack abd what it has. It already comes with 305/35ZR20 tires, different springs, the dynamic suspension system, the 4 and 6 piston Brembo brakes, and the flared fenders. It seems like you would want to recommend putting these pieces on the regular body Scat Pack first (as much as possible). Just a thought.
Another great video, good review on the bolt ons which don't add that much to performance. Dodge did an excellent job on the scat package. A couple of factory options like the dynamics package and you're set. If you want more get a Hellcat.
I just traded in a 2020 Mustang GT 5.0 for a 2022 Charger Scat Pack. In my opinion, the power output is outstanding on the Scat Pack. I wouldn't change one thing for nickel's worth of more power. I have 245 tires and you can chirp them without even thinking. My 5.0 Mustang couldn't do that.
@@craig4326 The speed is deceiving on the Scat. Because it is a heavier and bigger car you don't feel it. I do think its responsiveness is faster in my opinion.

Great information RacerX. A lot of people do not know that information. They end up getting a supercharger for the 392 or the 5.7. and spend thousands of dollars. May as well get a used hellcat.
Love that Ohio State shirt man! That’s a beautiful car for sure I don’t think you should mod it every time I see you or your wife ride pass I always stop what I’m doing and turn my head lol I like the way that scat pack sounds don’t change that. Every time I’m playing basketball at life church and you roll pass I feel so motivated. Or when I’m walking to work and I see that hellcat...definitely inspiring I’m going to get one eventually mark my words ‼️
My 2021 Daytona 392 has an oil catch can, CAI, Slp loudmouth catback, ported stock throttle body, throttle body spacer, I use only 93 octane and Mobile 1 0w-40 oil; I surprisingly beat 5 392 scatpacks convincingly and I'm basically stock, so I dont know why other scats that I've raced were slower; I really want a cam and headers but I don't want to void my extended warranrt but as soon as my warranty ends, I'm going in
Mods as you say can be costly, our 2019 scat pack Shaker, only added a fast man throttle body and what do you think going with a better rear tire, different brand AA rating and 255s, our 245s are 9" wide you can get 255s 9.5 to 10 depends on the manufacturer .....great information as always, ps we had a 2018 rt challenger 5.7 the 6.4 is a great choice .....
I love your videos RacerX! I would say if you want to go faster in a scat pack you need to really focus on lightening the car, rear suspension, and drag slicks (15" Conversion) THEN a hellcat intake system, long tube headers and a tune. Just my observations from reading a ton of forums and seeing the results at the track from other owners... Keep Kicking out the Great Content Man!
The stock heads on these cars actually flow nearly 340 cfm which is incredible. The intakes and throtlebodies are not capable of flowing that much air.. even when they are ported. Dodge did a fantastic job with their head design on these hemis. No perceptible gain to be seen with porting unfortunately
I agree completely, the Scat Pack is fun to drive as is. If you want to add a ton of HP. you bought the wrong engine. I added a Hellcat air intake box, tube, and filter to my '16 for $100 bucks, why not? I think the stock exhaust sounds great, I installed the MFER1 active exhaust mods to keep the butterflies wide open all the time for better sound. The 6 spd. manual comes standard with a 3.90 rearend, much more fun to drive than the auto, in my opinion.
I just seen a video of a 392 and an RT with the same mods, and let me tell you, the 392 is putting out some amazing numbers it’s making me wanna go sell my RT and say fk it on doing another payment plan for a scat. I’m just gonna grind out this year see how much I’m able to rack up in my account. And if a trade in with the X amount of money I drop can let me walk away with a scat I’m taking that route.
My 19 Scat has the BS 245 tires. How big can we go on the stock rim? Cam seems like the way to go. 30hp is not bad. The problem with all of these is the tune part. Federal law says as a consumer we are allowed to use aftermarket replacement parts. So bolt on an exhaust and we are fine with our warranty. Drop in a hellcat air box. Cool. But slap on things that weren't there like a super charger, or mess with the PCM for a tune and now you have a problem. You just void your warranty for engine related issues.
RacerX Had mine for almost two years now. Every once in a while I turn it off and can’t believe the amount of delay in the throttle. I can’t speak for every car but it made a huge difference on my RT. I set mine to sport and don’t mess with it. I think some folks had issues because they adjust it on the fly. I always make sure the car is stopped before making any adjustments. It literally made more of a difference than my Diablosport tune.
I have catback, ca intake with hellcat box, ported throttle body, wheels and tires. If I wanted a cam and headers should I have it all done at same time with my 392? cam headers tune.
Hey RacerX which tires do you recommend on my 2019 scat pack? I have the smaller 245s. Also is it worth adding the shaker package in my car? Also what exhaust do you recommend?
I have the same question. My 2019 Scat Pack has stock 9" wheels with 245/45/ZR20 tires. I have researched and believe that 274/40/ZR20 tires will fit on the 9" wheels without having to upgrade to 9.5" wheels. The dimensions are 245: 28.7" dia x9.6" width, 275: 28.7" x 10.8". Same diameter, 1.2" wider tire. I have read comments and have seen pictures from Scat Pack owners with the 9.0" rims who put the 275s on them and say they are great. So hey RacerX, what do you think about all this and what do you recommend? I am thinking about going with the 275s on my second set of tires. Thanks!
they will fit. But...your tires will wear a lot more. Don’t recommend this. U can buy some hellcat replica wheels on amazon for 850. 9.5 width. Then get those tires.
I have a 2018 Dodge Charger scatpack, got a tazer from Z automotive, AFE Cai and oil catch can. .. coming up next #1 275 tires with 9.5 rim and last will be a corsa exhaust system. Good video btw!!👍🏻💪🏻
I have a 2009 6.1L SRT8 CHALLENGER with the NAG1 Mercedez 5SPD auto. What are my best chances or gains for the 6.1lhemi? I know i benefit from not having MDS OR VCT. What are your thoughts? I cannot afford supercharging nor camming.
Michelin pilot sport 4s. I put them on my charger 392 and are amazing. Their expensive. Run you like 14 to 1500 for 275s. I also heard Mickey Thompson street et tires are good. Their street radials and run the same price. I made it one year with my pirelli.

2020 is your year 🔥
Thank you my friend 👍
I wanted to mod mine but not worth it for me. I’d rather keep it stock for resale value when I get the hellcat
I don’t blame you one bit ..👍

I agree with you on that.

Mikes05Hemi I got quoted $15k for a similar setup by a reputable hemi performance shop near me......seems like a waste of $$
Sounds about right, but the problem will be Consistency on how many runs will it last for with the stock pistons
It's 69.8 HP per liter is the highest output of any Chrysler motor ever produced, and even exceeds that of the 66 race hemis believe it or not
I always felt the 6.4 and 5.7 Hemi are perfect for camming. If you want serious horsepower, get a Hellcat. Go Bucks!

I love mine in Track mode suspension. Is it okay to drive it around town is track mode suspension? That's really my favorite way to drive it.
What type of tune?
Great Video! Best way to pull some weight out of the car is for the driver to lose some weight!! LOL
Haha that never hurts 👍
Yes i agree catless mids make a big difference !!!!
don’t stop posting man keep it up great information great video phenomenal youtuber
Thank you my friend 👍
i was just in the market for a new car and of course thought of the challenger because it has been my dream car since the new release in 2008.. i was also highly considering the charger because i drove my moms ALOT back in high school and really loved that car. didn't really consider the mustang even though i do like them. i've watched alot of your videos and have helped me see things and then going to the dodge dealership and seeing the challenger scat pack in the show room solidified my first though on what i wanted.. so i got the 2022 Challenger R/T Scat Pack and can now say i'm driving my dream car. been so happy with it. i continue to watch your videos to learn certain things and appreciate these videos... oh... and go blue!
That’s a great setup.. keep it safe 👍
Very nice... considering the same for mine
Aside from the boost, what are the other things?
3 years have gone by, I'm interested on how that's held up?
I'm just getting a mustang GT. Thanks bro, very good content. I've watched literally hours and hours of your channel.
I would sell it and buy a used Hellcat if I was planning to mod the 392.
Totally agree. $/HP is astronomical for the 392! These cars are very well sorted stock with very little headroom to improve with bolt-ons.
@@horderelations4041 yeah man!
Definitely something to consider fishsticks 👍
Just traded my 20 Charger RT STP for my even better 20 Challenger R/T 392 Scat Pack. Dig the show Mr. X. Keep on Keepn On.
Hi sublime
what tire size do you suggest for wide body scat pack?
If boost on a 392,
Go Forged pistons and rods and the sky is the limit.

Great video and very informative. I personally like my warranty.
Really good information! Thank you for not sugar coating it. People really need to know the truth & you’re helping more people than you might realize
Thank you TU.. hope your well brother 👍
They specifically made the 6.2 for boost changing the compression. This is why i love the 392 built to be NA
Great points my friend.. tune is key
Really like your videos! I have a 19 scat pack shaker 392 I went with a manual transmission and It came with 3:90 gears. But it flys through first gear, but it’s really fun!
That 3.90 gear and low first make second come too quick. That was my biggest complaint with my 2015. The BARTON shifter helped a lot
I have 22inch on 295tires back 265 on the front. About to get a tune.
Thanks for keeping it real, brother!
Took a large hole saw and cut out the stock box for the tube then 3M epoxied it in
FYI.. you dont have to pull the heads to remove the springs. Your mixed up with the lifters.🤗
Cheers
Nothing wrong with that.. the car is already a monster
Thinking about getting a 2019 R/T with the super track pack on it or a 2016 scat pack
Amir Johnson get a scat pack. Or anything with a 392 in it. There’s a huge difference in power. It’s worth it.
Amir Johnson the scat is worth it bro get the scat 2017 scat

Once it’s time to change tires then I’ll throw some bigger boys on but the tires on it are brand new nitto Ventus v12. Other than that’s it just tires for me
My scat pack has drag radials and a 75 shot of nitrous and runs 7.14 1/8 mile. Nitrous is a pain to deal with but it’s fun!
Have you ever ran it in the 1/4mile!?

Thank you very much David 👍
The best thing to do is get a separate block and forge the internals. Then you can do what you want.
That was my plan, but I let my wife talk me into just wait till it breaks then change it. So my initial plan was to just change the pistons and rods, but WHEN it blows I'll just buy a 426.lol.😅 But it hasn't yet after 6 years.

Can 305s be put on the back of a 2017 challenger scat pack with stock 20" rims
Mopar optimized the Scatty combo to max efficiency from the factory. They did a great job admittedly. Why they never put in stronger pistons Ill never know.
I agree.. wish they had a bit stronger internals as well 👍
Forged internals= that's where the GT’s take over! Those 5.0s react very well with the mods!
@@scarface9617 yeah man......even if Mopar just changed the piston configuration to a thick top style that pushed the rings down a little ( the standard pistons are set up to help with emissions......something to do with crevice space ). The rods, crank and block can take a lot of abuse.

The stock tires that come on the wide body don’t hook very well. The rest is awesome.
@@1Georgestube Yep, when you have a lot of torque and power, nothing helps much except slicks 😆

What about porting and polishing the heads. With that you'll get the extra horse power from the intake, throttle headers and exhaust
The stock heads on these cars actually flow nearly 340 cfm which is incredible. The intakes and throtlebodies are not capable of flowing that much air.. even when they are ported. Dodge did a fantastic job with their head design on these hemis. No perceptible gain to be seen with porting unfortunately
We’re all apart of the dodge family👨👩👧👦❤️❤️
Yes sir 👍
my 392 is giving off a weird burning smell on the left side. not the brakes but im sending it in for service.
A bag got stuck under it. Smell gone.
Very valuable video thank you for making this content.
Great video man. Literally answered all my questions. Thank you
Try the pedal commander, won’t void your warranty and you will be amazed!
R/T Life just put out a video about that .. it’s pretty interesting
Love your videos man keep up the good work
There are a quit of number of video’s that say that the Borla is way better then the rest of them.
Tire: Toyo Proxes R888
Great info I have a stock 19 charger scatpack been 12.03 116 with the stock tires on it removing the air filter
Good work Allen 🤜🔥🔥
My 2005 350z would go into safe mode if i pulled the air cleaner
I have catback, ca intake with hellcat box, ported throttle body, wheels and tires. If I wanted a cam and headers should I have it all done at same time with my 392? cam headers tune.
Excellent video especially not starting at motor
Those tires should make a difference for you 👍
Im hooked to all srt videos till mine comes in. 2020 scat pack 1320.
What are some good tires you would recommend? I got a 2018 Daytona 392 and these pirelli’s ain’t cutting it 🤦🏻♂️
Michelin pilot sport 4s. I put them on my charger 392 and are amazing. Their expensive. Run you like 14 to 1500 for 275s. I also heard Mickey Thompson street et tires are good. Their street radials and run the same price. I made it one year with my pirelli.
Great info from Sean.. I like the Mickey Thompson Street SS 👍. That tire sticks for sure.. just don’t get caught in the rain with them.
