There is a grace period announced by the transport minister as long as you register. But most Singaporeans abstain not because they are afraid of trouble but the inconvenience they might face.

This youtuber obviously confused about vep: 1. VEP registration is legal requirement. RFID is only a payment method enforced by a Malaysia private company TnG for payments. Notice you could still pay with your touch n go card (if RFID malfunction) 2. Immigration officers are only enforcing passport rules for home affairs ministry. VEP is land transport ministry. No point asking immigration officer for VEP questions
@robw1927, You are 100% correct cause you knew it was a different ministry and department in Malaysia but too bad this youtuber don't know at all yet confused others, perhaps, he should make wrong thing right and amend his video and repost it. Singaporean are generally "law abiding"=just follow whatever the govt said with no RIGHT (don't know how) to defense, from young when a new law passed, they just followed and grumble at coffeeshop when unhappy with the law
Why rush for all these to install Malaysia VEP ? Malaysia is expensive tax very where. Those brought house is difficult to sell ? Singapore still better.

JOHOR BAHRU - The family of a Malaysian businessman has paid a ransom of 20 million ringgit (S$6.1 million) to secure his release from a group of kidnappers. According to China Press, the 59-year-old developer was scheduled to go on a business trip when the incident took place around 5am on Oct 13.
Indeed, security and weak enforcement is the cause of low property price in JB. My Malaysian colleague had “visitors” to their house and demanded all valuables from all family members. They packed the whole family & moved to Singapore more than 10 years ago😅
After Covid, Singapore implement the VEP application on line and be collect in JB side. When the start, a lot of applications be rejected. After know what is needed. But that statement letter, Malaysia insurance doesn't issue out by default. Guess it is different from Singapore. We need to request separately. After resubmitted 14 days, we be inform to collect at the JB office. Then, there is one collection office only. We have to q 2 hours under the sun to collect. After that, we can drive into Singapore. When this start, it isn't easy for Malaysian to get the Singapore VEP too.
Mr. Loo, if anyobe can pay RM20 million, do you think there will be people who want to kidnap that person even in Singapore ? In Milan, Italy, if one's wallet has €2000 cash, l guarantee that petson will get robbed or pick pocket !!!

RFID tags are usually put on the left of headlamp. It is easy for scanner to scan the tags. The tag is waterproof. Wow! RTS link will make Singapore-JB into one state. With Johor ART connections there will be two homes for most Singaporeans.
