I have so much nostalgia for CrazySexyCool myself, I remember being a teenager when it came out and my sister had that album and I would always steal it - such a great album!
I appreciate your music travelogue style and how you reference bands I don't know with bands & styles I do. I've discovered & picked up some new faves that way. Thanks!
Ooh wow...your appreciation for Neil Young's awesome Re•act•or album is awesome. I loved that album...it had the heaviest guitar sound, and it was the start if a amazing interesting period for Neil. The critics were either confused or refused to accept Neil's experimental side.
Aloha Sam, Wow! You sure scored some great record albums .... Thanks for sharing. There's a quite few in here I'm not familiar with that I'll check out on TH-cam thanks , Seeing that Neil Young & Crazy Horse reminds me that I just ordered his record album "return to Greendale" w/ Crazy Horse (2-lp set) , & Neil Young "the times", for $9.98 each yesterday from " Spin me round records online in there $10.00 & under sale. I really enjoy your commentary on the artist and record album you really do your homework . When I was in high school thats all I did, read Creem & Circus magazines, to get the information of the band’s & new releases coming out, wish I kept all those magazines. Thanks again Sam for sharing your purchases . Looking forward to watching your next videos. Mahalo Ed
Wilmington NC had a respectable metal scene (for a smallish town) around the time of that Weedeater album. Check out Gollum and Buzz Oven. And I believe Randy from Lamb of God got started there. Oh and ASG and probably some other Southern Lord bands.
Agree that Wire’s Pink Flag is more post punk but was one of the first of that wave. So many great songs. “Reuters” blows my mind. Thanks for the video.
Hi Sam. I'm glad you're back with another vinyl video. Watching in the UK. I love that TLC album, I can't believe it's been. 29 years since it's release. ❤
Hi Sam - Congratulations on the last video going viral. Read the comments which were refreshing change from the standard VC ones ( like this one ! ) Much of American Gigolo was filmed in Westwood where teenage me worked at the time. The record store scene was at Tower a 3 story store where I worked. In person , Lauren Hutton was absolutely stunning. 154 is my favorite Wire album. Check out the track The 15th .. ✌️
Nice records! I also love Queens of the Stone Age. I have the new album but I have not listened to it yet. I have heard one new song on the radio a couple times and it sounds good. I have the blue version too!
Great to see another video from you, Sam. I am always on the lookout for that Metheny/Mays album. The last 3 albums I picked up were Stevie Wonder - Innervisions, the Rocktober re-issue of MC5 - High Time, and the Joni Mitchell live album Miles of Aisles. Now I just have to find time to listen to them.
Check out Rickie Lee's "Ghostyhead." You'll dig it. Weird... that Joe Cocker album was the first I ever bought (early 70's.) wild. TLC kicks. Peace on earth.
Nice pick ups. I actually prefer Simply Red's version of Heaven. More emotional, to me. Ricky Lee Jones record is classic. Any early Joe Cocker is a keeper. I just love QOTSA. Wire is one strong band. Wow, TLC, Pat Metheny and The Rationals!! Again, great haul!!
I ve been on a huge Neil Young kick recently ... rust never sleeps , on the beach , tonights the night , everyone knows this is nowhere ... listening to them constantly ... have to check reactor out
Nice pickups...From the looks of the shelves in the background your collection has definitely grown...I haven't purchased any vinyl in awhile...Prices have kinda gone crazy and finds outside of a record store are getting rarer...Keep collecting and showing us your collection 🎧🎸😎✌🏻🇺🇲♥️
I picked up the Rickie Lee Jones debut and Pirates earlier yhis year too. She and Tom were definitely a thing. Ive also got a limted edition of Chuck E. Weiss' Extremely Cool--he's the one Chuckie's In Love is about.
Hey Sam! I've been listening to that QOTSA on streaming a bunch and I dig it. I will probably end up buying it. RE.AC.TOR - One of Neil's most underrated records. I think "Got mashed potato, ain't got no T-bone" was a statement about the economic situation in Reagan 80s America lol... I dig that Rickie Lee Jones album. When I was a kid 'Chuck E's In Love' was on the radio all the time. I was pleasantly surprised how good the rest of that album is. She is sampled on 'Little Fluffy Clouds' by The Orb. Never heard WEEDEATER but that looks right up my alley. Andromeda is great. They evolved from a 60s band called THE ATTACK. Chekc them out if you get a chance. Wire's evolution from punk into post punk in the span of their first three three albums is an amazing thing to behold. I came close to buying that Rationals on RSD but I was a little low on funds and skipped it. Good? Congrats on that Joe Cocker. There's a few records that you always see but 99% of the time they are totally beat up, like Monkees records (because their original owners were 11 year olds in the 60s lol) I got the first Vanilla Fudge and 'Open' by Blues Image on CD because I never see non-destroyed copies of those. One I did find recently in decent shape that I was stoked about was 'Mad Shadows' by Mott The Hoople...
Of you like the Demons, you might dig Screaming Blue Messiahs (Bikini Red is awesome!). Also, love Reactor by Neil Young. Very rockin. You keep rockin'! You're awesome!
Ooh wow, I appreciate you mentioning Screaming Blue Messiahs "Bikini Red" album. One on greatest albums ever. "I wanna be a Flintstone" , "I can speak American", "55 the law" had that cool rockabilly sound and "Bikini Red" the song was a great pop song. I loved Warren Zevon's "Sentimental hygiene" album released about the same time. Flawless. And you appreciate Neil Young's Re•act•or album. I thought it was the heaviest guitar sound I'd ever heard on that album, but Rolling Stone only gave it 1 or 2 stars and scared of a lot of potential buyers.
Thanks for your videos, I’ve been enjoying them. I’ve been on a bit of a Sparks kick lately and starting to pick up more of theirs finally.
Glad to see your video. Enjoyed your finds. Good stuff
Merry Xmas Sam!

I keep thinking about that Glaxo Babies album someone gifted you. That was a nice gift. What do you think about it? Favorite song?
Love your hair Sam, so glad your back
I love that simply red record so so much, the lead singer can still sing

Yea! Pleasant surprise in the yootoob feed. Happy to see you. And Wire! I really gotta pick up that album.
Wilmington NC had a respectable metal scene (for a smallish town) around the time of that Weedeater album. Check out Gollum and Buzz Oven. And I believe Randy from Lamb of God got started there. Oh and ASG and probably some other Southern Lord bands.

Because music should be about filing
Hi Sam. I'm glad you're back with another vinyl video. Watching in the UK. I love that TLC album, I can't believe it's been. 29 years since it's release. ❤
I only got into Wire at the time of The Ideal Copy and that'll always be my favourite album of theirs :)
What's the point in only showing the front of Pink Flag album
Is it an original issue??

Another great video Sam, glad you’re back! Big Wire fan here. I’ll have to check out some of the other ones you showed…

Great picks Sam! Always great to see ya talk music 😊

Pat Metheny and Jaco also toured together as part of Joni Mitchel''s backing band in 1979. Immortalized on the live album "Shadows and Light".
Check out Rickie Lee's "Ghostyhead."
You'll dig it.
Weird... that Joe Cocker album

TLC kicks.
Peace on earth.
I recommend Amy Taylor and the Viagra Boys. They do a John Prine song, "In Spite of Ourselves".

Hello from Manchester, England. Great video
Bso glad to see you back sam another really cool video as only you can do it

Great video!. Mick Hucknall has that incredible blue eyed soul voice. He did a covers album of American artists you could give a stream. 👍 🏴
Mashed potato part is classic
If you like Weedeater... check Windhand... doom metal.
Cool video homie

cool
I love REACTOR Neil Young. ❤❤
🤘🏼🌝
JOHN Belushi would parody Joe Cocker, not Jim.....

I wouldn’t call Pink Flag by Wire post Punk, they were there in 76…seen them many times in London when I was 18/19…iam now 65.😅
I always thought Wire followed Bebop Deluxe, XTC and the Pop Group to create that angular, post punk sound. Great album.
@@H-mu4bo I would say, early Velvets, the Bryds even were influences.
