Your JD dealer also sells a severe duty oil filter for the D series. They are twice the length of the normal oil filter, and only a few bucks more.

I use a Motocraft FL400S. Longer and holds more oil. Just add to full line. Good filter.
Just make sure you have space for longer filter.

That's a man's man right there ladies and gentlemen. Owns a SIG and a John Deere and knows how to change the oil.

Are other people having audio problems with this video? I could see him speaking but nothing and then all of a sudden his voice came back.

I did. Cut out when you start to put the new filter on. Really appreciate the tutorial- very helpful to see and hear vs. reading the manual! Just discovered your channel and now I feel empowered to do so much more to lengthen the life of my JD 100 series mower. THANKS!

Yup. Basically it's delayed by 15 seconds. Still got all the info I needed though. Wasn't too hard to piece together the explanation to the relevant clip I had just seen.

I am a complete novice at this, and I have watched half a dozen videos on changing the oil, but none really shows the simple thing I'd like to know. When you pull out the dipstick to check it, where should the oil be on the dipstick? Nobody shows this, they just look and push it back in.

There are two little holes I like my oil just covering the top hole.

I have a John Deere Gator with a 2 cylinder engine.
In my Gator I'm facing a problem of mixing of gasoline with engine oil.
    What is the reason ?
    Starting is OK...
    No smoke from exhaust pipe
    Please reply me

Your float could be stuck open in your carburetor. If you have a fuel shut off, change the oil then next time you run the gator shut the fuel off if that keeps the fuel out, then you know your problem is your float.

i noticed that when you drained the oil from your craftsman lawn mower you did nbot remove the wire from the Spark Plug! People have lost hands from blades starting!!

@@DIYJIM Thanks for the reply, but come to find out it doesn't have an oil filter which I found to be strange, but true.

Weird you needed a wrench. Since these are hand tighten only.
