    Friendly reminder that the word used at 13:52 is a slur against the Inuit. That part of the Krohnianas name has been dropped by many people within the community.

    Great video, Memo! Man, I keep hearing you talking about the E. Skeleton Key. I found one the other day in the terrarium plant section of a nursery here for $9AUD (Australia). I couldn't believe it... lol so picked it up. I hope you have the same luck over there!

    A mature M. esquelleto is definitely a show stopper and I would love to have one but I always wondered how it would fare in regular household humidity. I prefer plants which are not too fussy in a regular home environment.

      Same same, I wonder with that one, I find most (not all) of the monstera I have can be trained from high humidity to household humidity, it just might take a few months of it looking a bit crispy, but defo if I get one might try experimenting with this 😁💚🌿

    Think the unicorn for monstera is Burle Marx Flame now. Think Spiritus Sancti has been tissue cultured and become a bit more available now, but i heard it doesn't propagate well, so probably won't be seeing it in local nursey any time soon haha.

    • @Houseplantygoodness
      @Houseplantygoodness  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awww yeah definately on both accounts, I did consider the Burle Marx flame for the wishlist, but I know a couple of people who have it and it is exceptionally difficult to get a mature form and they say it can grow quite slowly, but very cool that the SS is in TC, it will likely still be super expensive, but might be one more approachable

    Easy plants are the skeleton key and the epiphyllum. But so are thaumatophyllum and hoya (both are kinda like weeds here in California). Skeleton key treat like a pothos and give it a moss pole to get those key-shaped leaves. The jungle cactus (epiphyllum) is in 50/50 cactus mix & perlite - clay pot, outside. It gets east sun in winter and east+west sun in the summer. It blooms when it's cooler, so spring and fall in Los Angeles. It grows in the winter and sometimes goes dormant in the hot summers. Buds will be evident before it flowers and present as red, tear-shaped pendants at the end of the leaf blade. At this time, ensure it gets enough water for the flowers to come out - usually about 5 to 7 days. The flowers can last for two... maybe three days, if it's shaded. I'm not big into hoyas, but the hoya imbricata is totally weird enough for me to curate. If you have one, please make a video on it!

    I have a small epipremnum skeleton key, just a cutting for 2,50 euro. But still very small leaves and I hope it will get bigger leaves soon when growing up a moss pole. I have the queen of the night cactus. It blooms every year, 2 or 3 times in the summer. Huge blooms for 1 night only. You'll notice because the scent is very strong. The buds grow faster than expected from tiny to big in 2 or 3 weeks. It is easy to take cuttings from

    Great wishlist, many of those are mine also. I have a couple of these. My anthurium pedatoradiatum tends to crisp because the "fingers" are quite narrow even though it lives outside this summer in 70%+ humidity. I find my geogenanthus really likes to be pruned when it gets leggy. It immediately puts out new growth as soon as I cut it. And the cuttings easily propagate in water. Hope you can add of these to your collection.

    Geogenanthus, I have one and it’s turning out to be as finicky as my calathea. Big juicy leaves that really dry up on the ends if it’s not watered properly. I still haven’t found a spot it’s happy in. It’s still rather hot to put it outside, we are still having 100F days. It was beautiful when I got it and now it’s getting leggy, maybe it needs more light. But for a dark leafed plant I hesitate to put it out in the Texas sun. Sorry I’ve rambled on, love your videos and your Instagram. ❤️
