    Thank you so much for making these videos! I have been seriously considering moving to Malaysia with my family sometime this year. We are going to visit in September. I've lived in Canada and the states my whole life... but these past few years I have really wanted to leave and live in a muslim country. Life here is increasingly more and more suffocating, especially with a lot of things that are beings pushed in schools/ how our tax dollars are funding genocide. It's so difficult being a muslim in the West and I truly feel the quality of life in other parts of the world is honestly so much better. Honestly, just having access to halal food everywhere, hearing the azan, for the hijab to be absolutely normalized... would be such great blessings. I visited Malaysia many years ago and really enjoyed it.

    If your children go to international school in Malaysia, they get student’s visa + one guardian visa (the mother) whilst the father works abroad and sends money to the family. A lot of korean families do this

    • @khadras7j
      @khadras7j 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      Our family did that. We got dependent visa for me (mom) through our kids international school. But we hated not having my husband live with us. Unfortunately we made the difficult decision to leave Malaysia to be together. Never will we ever settle a country that doesn't let us live together. It is a beautiful country and I loved it so much.

      @@khadras7jto be honest, it’s ridiculous isnt it. I know some families do this, but i cant. Also why these visas (mm2h, dependent visa etc) dont allow the person to work. They are already in the country, let them work & pay tax 🤦🏻‍♀️. I would like to get mm2h for my husband (longer validity) but if he’s “not allowed to work” then how are we gonna pay rm170k school fees for two kids. My husband works for himself & online, also employs me, all income from abroad, and we would like to transfer the tax into malaysia… i’m yet to decide which visa is suitable to for him.

      The most important thing that changed in our lives is ? REMOTE WORK , and especially after Covid-19.
      People found ways to work from home.
      That takes us to another level ?
      Can my home be in Malaysia 🇲🇾 and I remote work for a company in London or Dubai?
      This is the big question NOW.
      I think it will happen or it is happening NOW.
      20 years ago, some architectural firms in America started something called at that time flex schedule, I know the title is misleading. You are a female architect, you are a mother and got infant children.
      All your work is on the computer.
      You meet your clients in the office, get their specs on their house and that is it.
      You go to your home and design everything from the comfort of your home with your kids by your side.
      You don’t need supervision, because you have to produce the plans for the house.
      Questions and other matters could be Handled by phone then.
      I think you are getting what I am trying to say.
      Do we live in a world today, where you can live anywhere in the world you want and work remotely anywhere in the world you want ?
      Obviously, not all jobs can be done remotely.
      So choose your career wisely.

    Rental of 500 to 1000 Ringgit will only get you a room in KL unless you want to stay in a dilapidated unit and in a remote area. You would need to live on a very small town to rent on that budget. Not possible in Penang or Johor Bahru either.May not be practical for someone who doesn't speak local languages to stay in a small town. A more reasonable budget would be 1.5k to 2k for a 2 bedroom condo , or a landed house but it wont be in a gated guarded estate .
    I doubt you could live comfortably on 3k Ringgit. I am Malaysian btw. With a family you would need 10k if there are 4 of you . Not including sch fees.

    Children will need about RM40-50k per year for international school, IGCSE, IB, Australian Canadian etc Pre-U....take your pick.

For IT , yes little bit, for example i know one IT person who topped his interview in a MNC, and there were no competent local in that position, yet he got rejected 2time by local authorities and 1 time at immigration, his MNC company had to wait 8months and raise his salary to match Immigration requirements, which is quite high for Grad students. Has the mm2h gone live? I'm told the visa issuance process never got started after they made the big announcement about the 3 tiers.

    To foreign sisters and brothers who choose Malaysia as second home. Welcome! I’m proud Malaysian resided in Malacca as well and working in KL. To stay peacefully in Malaysia..just avoid criticise anything on 3R (Religion, Race & Royal). Generally Malaysian very friendly and cordial particularly the Malays that represent 60% of Malaysia population. They don’t bother you much, very much will welcome you as family member and keep feeding you (because we are very proud of our food) unless you start to criticise Islam as the official religion of this country, special right reserve for the Malays and Bumiputra (indegenious people) and talking bad about Malay rulers I.e. the royal. Remember this tips…you will love Malaysia and Malaysian will love you.

    MM2H is a complicated mess right now. The tiering scheme you described is only part of the new requirements. The offshore income requirement has not been eliminated although many assume that it is. It would be inconceivable that the government would actually eliminate the offshore income requirement and admit people who have not shown that they are able to support themselves.

I have 3 kids plus their father making it 5 of us, but I certainly don’t have 70,80 or 100k usd cash sitting around or I would have invested in land or property. You pay over RM1000 a year in property taxes and think that's bad. I'm in Australia and my property taxes are RM8,0000 or thereabouts annually. Malaysia is dirt cheap compared to Australia. We are being bludgeoned by tax in the west. Those costs I've quoted don't include income tax. CGT, stamp duty and GST.

    • @lindc1070
      @lindc1070 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lizzy9975 I think I need to clarify something. This is my second home. We are from Singapore. We run our own biz so we spend sometime in Malaysia, work from home. Our home in Singapore is a condo worth over 2million SGD( about Aussie 2.5million) we pay higher taxes for that one. We also pay very high stamp duty for each additional property we buy in Singapore. Over 20% for the second unit . I am not complaining about property or any tax in Malaysia or Singapore. Malaysia is dirt cheap compared to Australia and Australian property prices are dirt cheap compared to Singapore. Every country is different. My whole point in providing figures is to debunk the misleading picture provided in this video. Malaysia is cheap but it would be hard to live as cheaply as she says it is possible to.
