On the topic of looking nice for your husband and etc. I want to say, Money Talks. A lot of the guys today think they can marry us and not give us money to spend on our maintenance. They want us to be at home, raise their kids, and etc but also stay looking fly without giving us money to take care of all of this? But they’ll happily spend money every weekend with their boys, on games, their haircuts and etc. And then they go and look at the girls in the streets and seeing them looking and smelling amazing and he comes home to his wife who’s still wearing the same leggings she’s had for the past 2-3 years if not longer. The man also wants to control her in the sense, you can’t go out with your friends and etc because ‘we can’t afford it’ or my favourite, ‘you don’t need it.’ And if we say anything we’re ungrateful and ‘hell is full of women.’ 🙄
Very valid point. One of the problems with masculinity today is the lack of emphasis on its elements. Prioritizing spending and allocating appropriately is neglected. I can't tell you how many Muslim men I know in their 30s who spend lavishly on any and everything, but have never made Hajj. If a Muslim man wants his wife looking right, then spend on her gym subscription, the nice clothes, makeup, perfumes, and all the other stuff we are bombarded with on a daily basis.
