I am a black man from South Africa who accepted Islam 40plus years ago. Coming from a background of oppression and being discriminated against on the basis of the skin color that Allah ta'ala blessed me and millions of others, the worst thing is when this discrimination extends into the house Islam. We also have red blood, we get sick and die, we do get hungry, we sin like anyone else and hope for the forgiveness of Allah ta'ala. Let light skinned Muslims get it out of their petty minds that if one is black he/she was created to serve the lighter skinned races. We are not living out a curse because Pharoah the black man wrought havoc in the world and enslaved some light skinned people, including some asiatic people. Shaykh Suleiman has really touched on a very sensitive subject. Blackness is not a disease nor in our skin hurtful. May Allah bless him abundantly for bringing out such lessons in our history.
Its pains me to read your experience from other muslims Besides Bilal, Rasul SAW loved and cherished Ummu Aiman and Usama bin Zaid. I hope Muslims remembers those stories and take the story to heart. Stay strong my SA brother From Kuala Lumpur
The man I asked to bring me to Allah is from west Africa. We live in the US in the most affluent and most privileged of places. It is hard as a born a brown American to follow such a narrow path… but I believe I can be saved thro his merci and his servant alone. I believe because I have no other choice when faced with truth of such a divided world. Allah keep and bless you and your family brother.
Anti blackness is a form of jahilia( the pre Islamic state of heart and mind), just like every manifestation of being away from Allah's path. If we as Muslims need to be reminded of this through the story of sayedna Bilal (RA) , then there's something terribly wrong with our understanding of Islam itself and its fundamentals. So sorry for your experience. May Allah guide us all.
اسلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته Hope you're well, brother. I'm also from South Africa. ❤ The problem with people is the mindset and cultural morals. Islam is perfect, not the people who follow it. Sadly, people follow the jahiliyyah way of thinking all too often due to their own experiences. Yet the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam abholished Slavery and racism. He said we shouldn't judge a group of people by the sins of a few. We were created in different tribes and nations so that we can tell the difference of each other yet remain as brothers and sisters loving Allah and serving Allah. The best amongst us are those who have the best hearts. I hope your heart is filled love and peace. Alhamdulillah the community I live in has people of all colors living together. Shukr Alhamdulillah. Apart from crime, there aren't issues of race here.
As a black African woman this series put tears in my eyes, 😢 strengthen my love for our prophet Mohammed (sws) for the love and compassion he had for Bilal RA and of course it renewed my love for Bilal RA ❤️💯 Allahu Akbar! It's sad that we still have racism among our own ummah today.... Don't look down on us for our blackness. Allah loves us and has made us Muslims from his mercy 🤲🙏
Am black Muslim man , i will never look up to whites. I will never beg ignorants not to look me down. We are all equal in the front of Allah. You didn't understand Bilal at all
May Allah give them hidaya and you also. May Allah give us all place in jannah. Try to change your username sister cause there are some bad words in it.😢
Ameen Insha’Allah i meet Bilal RA also with you. I joined islam 1 month ago and musa resinated with because my family name was moses. After having a conversation with my non Muslim parents they made me wonder more about roots an african Caribbean i began to tell Bilal’s story and it hit me while telling the story. From today i stand by The NAME BILAL and i am proud to be muslim and to be called bilal. Alhamdulillah
We are so weak as compare to Companions of Rasullallah ﷺ in everything : in Imaan , in certainty, in steadfastness , in Ibadah , in resilience, in firmness ,in war , in bravery, in following the command of Rasullallahﷺ, In rush to do the good deed and in pleasing Allah ... Wallahi in everything we are too weak but we have hope and seeking mercy from the Creator...
For his skin was black on the surface But he was cut deeper to see God's purpose In equality we were created Yet in chains we were fated For the Prophet he was always there For us he would lead us to prayer Never really a slave but always truly a master Rest in peace in the grave qiyamat will seem faster
I was crying from start till the end 😭 Ya rabbi! We don't deserve to be with these people, but we love them with all our hearts. Allow us to be with them in Jannah ❤️❤️❤️😭
After watching all of these episodes i get soo emotional and it hits me so hard knowing about how blessed and chosen these sahabas are to get the beloved companionship of Our Prophet s.a.w and even after that they Remain soo humble and humiliated. I mean I lack in every single thing explained, physically, spiritually, mentally. I am so Weak in front of Allah, just hoping to Be Saved by the Mercy of Allah nothing else.
I really appreciate this series. I always thought Bilal was the only black companion but this has so changed that. I'm so proud that islam is so much more the inheritance of black people and I hope this truth finally comes out so our community finally stops worshiping a white man/God.
I am a woman born into Islam but I have learned so much from you, Mr Suleiman Your “Firsts” are just wonderful. They make us closer to the companions🙏🏾
Bilal (RA), what a giant. What a man! Exclusive honor of being muadhin in all 3 of the holiest places on Earth. Look at how Allah elevated people because of Islam. Impossible to not shed tears learning about this companion.
He was no one, He was just a slave but he had light in his heart, the light of oneness of Allah. Didn't know any better but look just that one act of him in the face of every adversary was loved by Allah so much so that Allah raised his status and till Qayamah people will remember him and his call for Success with certainty.
I can't get enough of listening to the story of all the sahabas of our beloved prophet Muhammad saw. Their faith and sacrifices they made to make sure that islsm stood firmly really increased my love for them all. May Allah units us all with them in da day of judgment.
MasyaAllah. One of the key reasons I love learning from Imam Omar is he smiles as he teaches us. Thus the message can be clearly heard as one of love for Allah, Nabi Muhammad SAW, his sahabah and the Ummah. Never did I miss a moment of tearing up for the pain they went through so we can be Muslims. May Allah blesses, grants Barakah and loves all of us for learning from Imam Omar.❤
Say "what a great joy it is! Tomorrow i will meet my loved ones Muhammad s.a.w and his Companions." This touched me soo Emotionally 🥺 I wanna get united with them too!

Everytime I listen or read about Companions of Rasullallah ﷺ (RAnhuma) I can't help myself to not to fall tears They soften our heart ... we love them . We respect them. We follow them.... Ameen Ameen Ameen Ameen Aahumma Ameen
May Allah bless you for increasing our love for the beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and for our noble Sahaabah (May Allah be pleased with them), and also for teaching us more about our role models so that we can follow them to the best of our abilities. Ameen! 🤲🏾
I wish and pray that one night in the dream Allah subhana wa taala makes me hear azaab by hazrat Bilal ( rta),even the thought of that makes me cry,I am a an ordinary sinful Muslim of today's world.
